Checking in September 1st, how's the game going so far??? I can't wait to try it out, and yes, I AM considering reacquiring the Harmony Encore so I can play all of those ARM games that my Flashback 9 can't play due to outdated firmware. I'll be missing the HDMI and great picture but I DO have a VCR I use for its tuner set to analog channel 3 while displaying it in composite a/v so I get a better picture than with my Insignia HDTV's onboard antenna connection with analog channel 3 on it (yes, it's from 2016 so it does BOTH), in which is piss-poor when it's compared to the VCR's a/v output to composite. Still the RF buzzing and snow but at least its a sharper, cleaner display.

You know that back in 1999, 8 years before Dennis @DEBRO came up with HIS great version of Pac-Man 4K, a company named Ebivision came up with their own 4K version of Pac-Man, I had only heard about it but never actually saw it in action, so searched for it in Google and found both the video, and, eventually, the ROM for it as well, so here is a clip of it during its gameplay, and, the actual ROM I found online after a lot of searching. BTW when it comes to doing Pac-Man in 4K I thought Dennis @DEBRO's version was the best 4K version ever, Take THAT Todd Frye!!! .....but this version was not so bad either. I originally found it here, BTW, pay no attention to it being advertised in SECAM, it works here on my Flashback and may also work on both emulators and also the Harmony Encore as well. http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-2600-vcs-pac-man_13367.html PacManEbivision.bin

Not if the flashback was simply just a 5200 SD card-based player with a 4-port BIOS for full game compatibility and full backwards-compatibility with all 5200-based controllers (CX53 trak-ball included) with just simply an SD card slot, HDMI port, 2 15-pin controller ports, and a 5v Micro USB power jack. No copyright police to worry about if you just simply make it Atarimax Ultimate SD card-based only without any onboard games, just tons of classic gaming fun, 8-bit 5200-based style.

How about one with an onboard SD or micro SD card slot in a mock miniature 5200-designed enclosure so we can all use the same ROMs that work with the Atarimax SD multicart so we can constantly build our libraries as opposed to having to deal with a USB flash unit that only has 128 games on her, my SD has almost 300 games on her as of this post and more being added every week thanks to all of the great community members of this forum (and others as well). Between that and 2 100% original 5200 15-pin, backwards-compatible controller ports, an HDMI jack, and a built-in 4-port BIOS for full game compatibility (I found out just a few weeks ago my 2-port 5200 has a 4-port BIOS in her after checking out my 5200 multicart) this project could certainly lead to an even better future for the once-maligned Big Sexy and her awesome (and ever-growing) lineup of titles!!!

How about redesigning it with an onboard SD or micro SD card slot so we can all use the same ROMs that work with the Atarimax SD multicart so we can constantly build our libraries as opposed to having to deal with a USB flash unit that only has 128 games in her, my SD has almost 300 games on her as of this post and more being added every week thanks to all of the great community members of this forum (and others as well). That and an HDMI jack and a 4-port BIOS and I'll be hitting the OP up with a PM and ask for his PayPal address. between him and @edladdin this could certainly lead to an even better future for the once-maligned Big Sexy and her awesome (and ever-growing) lineup of titles!!!

It does.

Nobody bothered to mention Kaboom! That works as well as Missile Command and Super Breakout do. Also, if you can get used to how sensitive the analog joystick becomes, Gorf is also a pretty good game too with the analog stick even though I myself prefer it to be like the arcade version (digital control).

It's why WE call her Big Sexy!!! The Biggest...... and The Most Beautiful IMO ❤️

I would want to buy these (and did before having my money refunded due to Deutsche Post/DHL banning packages from Germany to the US due to the COVID-19 outbreak) there is a specific ProPaddle2 model for the 5200 with two fire buttons and a special plug that works with standard 5200 controllers, but I was told be the seller that Deutsche Post and DHL until further notice have banned all parcels to the US from Germany (bummer) and I was expressly told this by the seller, and there is no other seller that carries them outside of Germany. I bought them because I was SO stoked at how they seem to work SO perfect with Tempest!!!, as well as other (normally paddle) analog control game carts like Super Breakout and Kaboom! https://www.ebay.com/itm/ProPaddle2-Controller-per-Atari-2600-5200-7800-e-C64-C128/264443084043?hash=item3d92093d0b:g:dBQAAOSwkqNeM-HQ Here is a review video on them right here (the review on Tempest starts at 14:52 of this clip): perhaps maybe @playsoft or another UK or other non-German-based user can (hopefully) do me a favor and act as a (somewhat) middleman acting on my behalf so I can get this through them, I will be willing to pay a commission to them for doing this, there are only 2 left (in retail box not the bulk ones) for the 5200 and I specifically wanted to get those 2 (and did before my $$$ was wrongfully refunded!!!)

In this episode, mentally disabled musician and entertainer Ray Jackson introduces and reviews yet another great port from AtariAge user @johnnywc, this highly-recommended version of the 1981 Stern/Konami arcade classic, Scramble, for the Atari 2600 Video Computer System. You can either click on the link below to download the ROM of this great game, or, for all of you cartridge-heads out there who still insist on having physical media, @Albert and all the guys are ready right now at the AtariAge online store to take your order, Either way, you'll be glad you did! #Scramble #Atari2600 #TheAtariReport Scramble.bin

In this episode, mentally disabled musician and entertainer Ray Jackson takes a look at an arcade classic that wound up never really being officially released, the superb Venture for the Atari 5200 SuperSystem. Normally, we would be able to afford to you the ROM or .bin file of every game we review here on The Atari Report, but due to potential legal reasons that are beyond even my control, as well as by express request from the original program owner, we are sorry to not be able to afford to you the program for this particular game. We do apologize for this inconvenience. #Venture #Atari5200 #TheAtariReport

Also post the YankeeMania .bin as well, I'm sure any baseball fans who also dig Atari would enjoy it. DISCLAIMER: YankeeMania is not advised for Boston Red Sox fans as it may contain graphic elements 😉 that they (and the rest of New England for that matter) might be offended by (really? like what?), I guess they're jealous whenever they see either Monument Park or all the retired numbers in left field at Yankee Stadium or those 27 World Series pennants they've won. This is coming from a lifelong Dodgers fan (yes I AM originally from L.A., born there in 1966, and raised there until I moved here to Port Townsend in 1987) who still remembers when Reggie Jackson lit up most of our pitchers (poor Charlie Hough was one of them) in both '77 and '78, especially those epic battles between Bob Welch (RIP) and Reggie Jackson back in '78. Watch it and weep Red Sox fans!!! Charley Steiner and John Sterling with the call:

The Atari Report - 2600 Edition - Episode 5 - Venture Reloaded
BIGHMW replied to BIGHMW's topic in Atari 2600
Hey thanks! .....and yes I DID somewhat modify (not really, all I did was download) the two variations of Edd Kalehoff's World News Tonight With Peter Jennings theme, then edited them so they would (almost) sound similar, they are right here in the links at the bottom, but other than that I did my own voiceovers on both of them. I'm glad that more and more fans of mine are getting into it, the subscriber rates are starting to go up, on all 3 of my YouTube channels, check out my other two featured channels too, BIGHMW TV, and my personal Ray Jackson YouTube channels as well, I'm sure fans who like my work here will find them just as damn good too. ENJOY!!! https://www.networknewsmusic.com/world-news-tonight-1998-2000-theme/# https://www.networknewsmusic.com/world-news-2000-theme/ ...and here are both of my other YouTube channels as well!!! BIGHMW replied to BIGHMW's topic in Atari 2600
I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the compliment, maybe this will get me a few more subscribers to all 3 of my YouTube channels (see the "featured channels" section on the right of the homepage). I'm sure you'll enjoy all of my content on those other 2 channels as well. -
In this episode, mentally disabled musician and entertainer Ray Jackson takes a look at a hack of a 1982 Coleco Release, from Omegamatrix comes the superb Venture Reloaded for the Atari 2600 Video Computer System. Down below is the link to so you can download and try the game for yourself, of course the cartridge will soon also be available from the AtariAge online store as well for you cartridge-heads out there to pick up as well. #VentureReloaded #Atari2600 #TheAtariReport Venture Reloaded.bin

In this episode, mentally disabled musician and entertainer Ray Jackson introduces and reviews yet another port from that genius AtariAge user himself Playsoft, this highly-recommended version of the 1981 Stern/Konami arcade classic, Scramble, for the Atari 5200 SuperSystem. #Scramble #Atari5200 #TheAtariReport Scramble.bin

Anyone have a ROM or .bin file of this game??? I would like to add it into my collection and play it on my Atarimax multicart.
-
Both episodes have already been filmed, it's just now a matter of both compiling, combining and editing the footage, and adding in the narration during the gameplay, but in these two episodes, I just wish I would've done better in my playing them as much as I've gotten great at reviewing them, but that time will eventually come when I just might have to do an shorter edit of a game review in regards to the gameplay itself, once I get my skills of old, You might think that I might've been going at it for about an hour on it, like I used to during my days in high school at Erikson Center in 1982-84!!! The episodes will be uploaded either later tonight or early tomorrow morning, but I think you'll be impressed, I will even give full credit where full credit is due and mention the programmers of both of these great arcade classics, @Omegamatrix for Venture Reloaded for the 2600, and @playsoft for the 5200 version of Scramble. Well, I've gotta get something to eat right about now, so we'll see you later tonight with the 2 all-new episodes of The Atari Report!!!

I stupidly sold my deadstock NIB 2600 jr. short rainbow version right here in 2019 that I previously bought months before on eBay when I picked up my VCS cartridge adapter for my newly-acquired and repaired 2-port 5200 after first selling my a/v-modded 5200 because it wouldn't work with the adapter. DUMB. DUMB. DUMB. I used to use it with my old Harmony Encore during my early multicarting days before having to sell both that 2600 jr short rainbow and that same Harmony Encore (I do intend to get another Harmony Encore for my VCS adapter when I get my $1,200 after Congress stops bickering about how much the goddamn airlines should get and gets us our $$$!) and getting a Flashback 9 HDMI instead, I currently use that same FB 9 (and will use the Encore in that same VCS adapter instead later on in newer episodes) on my 2600 Edition of The Atari Report, I will upload the new episode tonight where I will be reviewing Venture Reloaded!!! And I'll be reviewing Scramble for the 5200 on the 5200 Edition too, so watch for those new episodes tonight!!!
-
ROM please!!! I waiting to play!!! I'll even do a review of it on a future episode of the 2600 Edition of The Atari Report on The Atari Report YouTube channel.
-
Just checked my ROM collection, it turned out I still had the RC1 version of it, so I just downloaded the updated RC3 version of it, and I will upload that to my Flashback 9/Harmony Encore SD card later this morning and then I'll film my review for the 2600 Edition of The Atari Report for air tomorrow, so watch for it!!! BTW, on the 5200 Edition I will be featuring yet another gem from @playsoft, Scramble for the Atari 5200 SuperSystem!!! .....and then maybe I'll turn the tables on the next episodes of TAR and do Scramble for the 2600 and that already-mentioned 5200 version of Venture I have so you can see it in action and see that yes one DOES exist (please guys, don't ask for that particular ROM after all I don't want to wind up getting banned after all these years! 😉)
