  1. I hope and pray he gets the help he needs.
  2. When doing the Thieves guild quests you have to fence xxxx amount of gold, so I decide to go above and beyond the call of duty. I will systematically clean out every single item in every single shop all across Tamriel. As an added bonus after you do this it's not only funny to have the shopkeeper welcome you to an empty shop but it also eliminates the possibility of accidentally clicking on an item and getting charged with theft. Take the Adoring Fan up to Dive Rock and send him flying off it whenever you feel bored or frustrated in the game. Go into a guard barracks and conjure up a Scamp then cast Touch of Rage on a few guards.
  3. Sorry I still haven't quite figured it out myself either
  4. Try Radio Shack other than that thou shall have to order online and learn patience grasshopper.
  5. Not sure what the catch is but they do charge shipping outside of Australia, maybe it's some sort of promotion?
  6. Not the best but it's a start. Anyone getting the Atari word out there is a good thing. Some thoughts: Try to center the gameplay in the shot. A script is good as it will make the video seem more organized and flow smoother. While many folks are entertained by the Angry or Irate style reviewers there are already plenty of those reviews to go around, check out some of the other reviewers who are every bit as good but just bit more cerebral, this guy is great!, this gent is very funny and does great reviews and if you are looking to maintain a certain theme or style these guys do it right. I'm sure the other folks here will also have some good advice too. Good luck!
  7. Congrats! Good to see that article but I think they could have been a little more generous with the score.
  8. I bought the used/refurbished Pro as it was the same price as a new Arcade unit. I like saving money and being cheap
  9. Awesome to see these guys keeping things alive for the arcades but I did have a slight problem with the news article: "During the arcade boom of the late '70s and '80s, there was a place in every big American city where gamers would go to spend many quarters and hours playing games on platforms such as the legendary Atari 2600, Nintendo Entertainment System and Sega Genesis." Unless I really missed seeing the heavy sixers tucked in between the Pac-Man and Space Invader Machines and the NES and Genesis's set up next to Rampage and Mortal Kombat when did any consoles show up in arcades?(Except for Neo Geo kinda sorta)
  10. The colors in the games were vibrant and appealing, the sounds were unique and fun. The Console itself felt rugged,it looked good and the carts were durable as well. The controllers were near bombproof and the games were very easy to get. Every kid in my neighborhood had Atari except for the rich kid he had Colecovision. The other systems did not fare well for many reasons: Games hard to find. Horrible/Confusing controllers Consoles were shaped either too weird (Fairchild..It looked like an 8-Track deck) or were too mundane(Intellivision...Just as dry and boring looking as George Plimpton) Didn't have the "Big Name games" Poor marketing
  11. Report it to the manager or attendant....yes I really am that dang honest. I even pick up coins folks may have dropped at the checkout counter and place them on the counter so maybe someone else can use it.
  12. Gotta have "The terror that flaps in the night!"
  13. I have both now and am getting started into Morrowind so far i'm liking it! I have played through Oblivion several times now and still enjoy it! The one thing that makes both games especially great for me? Lynda Carter provides the voices for some of the NPC's! I am just now getting into modding Oblivion and so far it's been a blast.
  14. Didn't Mr. Jackson also show up in Ready to Rumble Boxing?
  15. The employees are simply doing what they are ordered to do like any other business Gameslop is simply there to turn a profit and one form of profit is pushing extras or warranties that folks don't need. I'll use an example from my past. Years ago I worked at one -o- them nationally recognized tire and auto repair chain stores and the pressure to upsell both on the guys at the front counter but us techs in the shop were enormous, make the company a ton of money or you're fired was the simple premise and I didn't even last my 90 day probationary period there because I refused to upsell things the customer clearly did not need at that time. My biggest grievance is the extended warranties, when I recently got my PS3 from Gameslop I asked about the extended warranty and was told it would be for 1 year ok cool! I asked when it took effect and the clerk said it would start at the time of purchase......um yeah nice try but the manufacturer gives a one year warranty as well so why the #@$% would I pay for something that runs concurrent with the factory warranty??? Does Gameslop really thing their customers are this mind numbingly stupid? The correct way is to have that extended warranty go into effect after the factory warranty expires. Oh and as for the Gamestop clerks I had an interesting situation come up as well. I was waiting in line and the clerk was telling a customer about how the ET game for the Atari had a glitch that made it impossible to finish the game and thats why they wound up dumping them in this landfill in New Mexico. I informed the clerk that the game is completely playable and the instruction booklet is needed to be able to complete the game plus I suggested she check out AA for all it's vintage gaming goodness.
  16. I have no issue with "necroing" and old thread if something valid is added but when someone dredges up a thread from 9 years ago just to add a comment like "Yeah! I totally agree with that." Then there should be mod or admin intervention.
  17. Glad to hear Travi is ok! I would love to have him come visit again sometime.
  18. As much as I Like the system the 5200 should never have happened and the 7800 should have been the next logical step. Then the 7800 would have had a longer life and the graphics and games would have been much improved as time went on and developers got more out of the system by pushing it to it's limits much like what happened with the NES (look at Urban Champion compared to Battletoads) That coupled with the poor decision of game releases you really cripple your product by the time the 7800 happened the market was showing that platformers, shooters, and rpg's were where the money is so what did Atari do? Shoveled out the same old tired games (Asteroids,Ms.Pac-Man,Dig Dug etc...yaawwnn). If they (Atari) would have came up with some fresh content then they would have been in a better position to have a next gen system to compete with SNES and Genesis and from there keep pace with the other companies and hopefully survive in the console market but sadly when you have idiots running the company things will always fail.
  19. Not a dumb question at all, sadly I no longer have my Sega CD to check for you but I do have an idea. You need to find an independently owned hardware store or a small chain store like Ace Hardware or True Value Hardware and take the unit there and explain what you are after, these types of hardware store will usually have open bins for the screws and you can take the time to find what fits correctly. What you will probably need is a Phillips flat head machine screw.
  20. I wish him the best with his health and the case I hope he wins.
