  1. I have both now and am getting started into Morrowind so far i'm liking it! I have played through Oblivion several times now and still enjoy it! The one thing that makes both games especially great for me? :lust: Lynda Carter :lust: provides the voices for some of the NPC's!

I am just now getting into modding Oblivion and so far it's been a blast.

  2. The employees are simply doing what they are ordered to do like any other business Gameslop is simply there to turn a profit and one form of profit is pushing extras or warranties that folks don't need.

I'll use an example from my past. Years ago I worked at one -o- them nationally recognized tire and auto repair chain stores and the pressure to upsell both on the guys at the front counter but us techs in the shop were enormous, make the company a ton of money or you're fired was the simple premise and I didn't even last my 90 day probationary period there because I refused to upsell things the customer clearly did not need at that time.

My biggest grievance is the extended warranties, when I recently got my PS3 from Gameslop I asked about the extended warranty and was told it would be for 1 year ok cool! I asked when it took effect and the clerk said it would start at the time of purchase......um yeah nice try but the manufacturer gives a one year warranty as well so why the #@$% would I pay for something that runs concurrent with the factory warranty??? Does Gameslop really thing their customers are this mind numbingly stupid? The correct way is to have that extended warranty go into effect after the factory warranty expires.

Oh and as for the Gamestop clerks I had an interesting situation come up as well. I was waiting in line and the clerk was telling a customer about how the ET game for the Atari had a glitch that made it impossible to finish the game and thats why they wound up dumping them in this landfill in New Mexico. I informed the clerk that the game is completely playable and the instruction booklet is needed to be able to complete the game plus I suggested she check out AA for all it's vintage gaming goodness.

  3. As much as I Like the system the 5200 should never have happened and the 7800 should have been the next logical step. Then the 7800 would have had a longer life and the graphics and games would have been much improved as time went on and developers got more out of the system by pushing it to it's limits much like what happened with the NES (look at Urban Champion compared to Battletoads) That coupled with the poor decision of game releases you really cripple your product by the time the 7800 happened the market was showing that platformers, shooters, and rpg's were where the money is so what did Atari do? Shoveled out the same old tired games (Asteroids,Ms.Pac-Man,Dig Dug etc...yaawwnn).

If they (Atari) would have came up with some fresh content then they would have been in a better position to have a next gen system to compete with SNES and Genesis and from there keep pace with the other companies and hopefully survive in the console market but sadly when you have idiots running the company things will always fail.

  4. Not a dumb question at all, sadly I no longer have my Sega CD to check for you but I do have an idea.

You need to find an independently owned hardware store or a small chain store like Ace Hardware or True Value Hardware and take the unit there and explain what you are after, these types of hardware store will usually have open bins for the screws and you can take the time to find what fits correctly.

What you will probably need is a Phillips flat head machine screw.

  5. Sad news :(

Well in honor of Travi I think all the previous hosts should be able to order their own personal copy of Travi and a new and Improved Travi should be created to travel the globe again!

    Long live Travi!!

  6. I think it should be Atari themed, with various Atari characters.

I always thought that Atari Karts didn't exploit this enough by only having Bentley Bear.

Perhaps there's a way to weave together an Atari style RPG with Atari style characters ...?

Cool idea but wouldn't there be potential copyright issues ? I agree though it would be awesome to have Atari characters in it.

  8. Here we go again  My first 360 RROD'ed about 24 hours after I bought it. The replacement did not even last a year as it just died a few hours ago.... It didn't RROD this time though. This time it quit detecting the hard drive! :x So now it's my turn to do the exchange thing hopefully the third time will be the charm.

Other than blue ray does the PS3 have any technological edge over the 360?

Just got my repaired unit back today! They attached a letter explaining that they just replaced it rather than repair it and bumped my warranty to the end of Sept. and threw in a 1 month Gold Membership. I'm setting it up as I type.
