I did a little searching but didn't find what i was looking for. What were the overall worldwide sales figures for the 2600? 100 million units? 200 million?

Dragons Lair for the NES -
I call it the "Wii effect" and i suffer from it too . I got mine last september i haven't used it since february some of my friends suffer the Wii effect too. The first month or so it was great! lots of fun then sadly the fun faded and as one or two games came along the fun would flare up briefly but it fades, the Wii effect returns and it sits unused My Dreamcast has been getting more use lately.

Is this worth it? Need your opinions please!
kroogur replied to tremoloman2006's topic in Atari 2600
Well if he said it will cost $150 to fix it and those new ones you found are $200 then just paying to get your fixed might be an option that way you avoid s&h and will probably have it back sooner. -
Space Erase - guide your ship around the galaxy and claim all the territory before the hostile X'ling race catches you!. or just chalk up another vote for Basecoat 2 Electric Boogaloo!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atari_Flashback The Flashback2 units seem to show up at Target stores occasionally or you could try asking in the marketplace section of these forums, or th=ry the great new auction site Chasethechuckwagon.com. lastly you could try your local Craigslist. As far as I know there has not been a release of Adventure 2 for the 2600 console itself. So the Flashback2 is probably your best bet. Besides the Flashback2 has many other great games on it and is an all around decent unit.

Because it was Atari and I am cheap. I wanted the system since launch but i felt everything cost too much so i waited and when the next gen systems were coming out and I saw Atari did not have a new offering so I knew i had to get a Jaguar as it was the last of the line. Well as luck would have it the video dept. of the local grocery store was clearing out the old systems to make way for the new ones and there was a complete Jaguar system in the clearance bin and plenty of games. I paid like $5 or $10 for the system (can't remember lol)and about $1 to $5 each for the games. I was a happy little Kroo that day!

New homebrew arcade ports for the 7800 you'd like to see?
kroogur replied to Underball's topic in Atari 7800
I don't know if the 7800 has the horsepower for these. After seeing the two latest found prototypes Plutos and Sirius i think the old 7800 may be able to come close and i would even settle for the TMNT version that was originally released on the NES -

Not just the arcade...the whole MALL is gone.

About the same thing happened to me when i stumbled on that site. I just couldn't quit till i read through the whole thing, it was sad and intriguing all at the same time. On an interesting side note there is a picture of the parking lot at a Caldor's in one of the New York malls i believe that has "something" inside the car looking out the window, the picture even made it to a paranormal site i used to belong to. -
The is an urban exploration site called Lost but not forgotten and it's pretty extensive and has a listing of places complete with pics by state, anyways i'll have to dig through to find it but one place was an abandoned amusement park and there was a pic of a number of cabinets thrown into a pile out on the ground with weeds growing up through them. It was kinda depressing to look at. They changed the name now it's: http://www.abandonedbutnotforgotten.com/

New arcade in Utah -The Game Grid Arcade
kroogur replied to Shaggy the Atarian's topic in Arcade and Pinball
Rally X and Superman are some forgotten favorites of mine! I haven't played them in years I do wish you the best with this! Good Luck -
I enjoy both your reviews and others like yours but sometimes I just like to kick back and watch some over the top wackiness and that's where The Irate Gamer comes in (I Won't watch the nerd anymore) Chris (The Irate Gamer) just likes to go completely over the top sometimes and really goes nuts I loved his Tetris review and I don't care how many people come on Youtube and do speedruns of Ghosts an Goblins without dying once I suck at that game and die every .05 seconds so watching The Irate Gamer roast that game was great fun for me. I particularly enjoyed your Blue Print review and found it to be quite well done ( I always had a soft spot for that game).

Thank you! It's great to try out different games.

Well, it does come with a microphone. Wait... what? hey man, don't harsh his buzz, he's from Berkley and that was Abby Hoffman's personal Atari 2600 .... and microphone Abby Hoffman? WTF? Abby was a political and social activist in the 60's and 70's and during Woodstock he ran up on stage while the Who was on and grabbed the mic and apparently made Pete Townsend unhappy

Any fans here of the Deadliest Catch TV show? They have two versions of a sim game based on crab fishing one for the XBox360 and allegedly one for the PC. The 360 version is out and folks seem to like it but they are having some problems with the PC version Discovery sent me this: We appreciate your interest in our products. At this time, Deadliest Catch Game for PC, you have requested is not yet available. Release date of this game for PC was postponed due to stock issues, definite date is not yet specified. Stock issues? meaning what? I pre-ordered this game on Amazon but they keep bumping the release date back, This may be as good a reason as any for me to finally get a XBox360. Anyone tried this game yet?

I would wonder if he has too much time if he took the time to find this thread. ? Bottom line get your facts straight before selling your product especially to a niche market.

I snagged Chase the Chuckwagon for $.95 at the local Community Thrift store on Babcock Blvd. over in the North Hills area. It's been years since I went there but they usually had cool stuff there in addition to Atari and Intellivision games like Commodore computers and such.

Oooohhh so thats what happened to Hardwork!!! He an Team Savage got pulled into the alternate universe! and after hooking up with their counterparts they had enough talent to finally warm up to Basic and create a slew of 2600 games based on 80's TeeVee I just looked in and they now have an entire Team Savage catalog of 80's games! Knight Rider 2600 Alice - Mel throws bowls of chili at irate customers. Too Close for Comfort- Monroe has mutated into a three headed beast and Cosmic Cow has to save the day by shooting milk lazers at the platform under Monroe Three's Company - The girls have to try to keep Jack hidden from Mr. Furley Diff'rent Strokes- Arnold and Dudley have to avoid a creepy Maytag Repairman/Radio Station Manager that chases them around a bike shop. Greatest American Hero- Ralph has to defeat wave of bad guys by flying(crashing) into them. Riptide- Guide the "Screaming Mimi" around and shoot the bad guys. Mama's Family- Guide Thelma around and bop Naomi and Vint on the head when they get lazy , Iola will occasionally skitter across the screen dropping power ups. Loookin Good!
