  1. I think sucky movie games didn't officially start until the NES hit the scene for example:

    Back to the Future

    Rambo

    Goonies

    Friday the 13th

    A Nightmare on Elm Street

    Top Gun

    Platoon

    Days of Thunder

    Total Recall

    and the list goes on.....

  2. Ok so a no name website that maybe 4 people have ever heard of..Crave....what a stupid name... that is part of CNet which if i remember was part of that fiasco awhile back when a bad review was given to Kane and Lynch and CNET caved under pressure from eidos and fired the reviewer.

So now that we have all our ducks in a row:

Crave- craptacular site that maybe 4 people have heard about

CNET - Equally craptastic and apparently has no balls.

That said the afore mentioned entities have what credentials to say anything about anything? They can rot for all i care. There is no such thing as a worst system and i can say this because every system has some kind of following for a system to be the absolute worst then no one and i mean not even one living soul would care about it.

Oh sure there are systems that tried their best to suck or one reason or another Fairchild Channel F with it's ghastly graphics, Sega 32x yeah even it had it's moments, CDi it was basically the first of the next gen systems and had some good points, point is every system has good and bad qualities but i don't think any system is worst.

  3. I have to say, I truly agree with much of what's been said here about this release. My own opinion is that they should have called this "Atari Classics Devolved".

Pong is yet again another failed attempt to capture the arcade version, and I'm almost glad my technical adviser credit never made it in, because it looks like very little of it was followed. Besides the problems with Pong, all the emulated games are of poor quality. The emulated graphics on some of the games aren't much better than the GBA collections (including the vector lines which are fat and blocky). There's almost 0 original sounds as well - tempest's almost sounds like it was sampled off of those lcd keychain games. How hard would it have been to include samples from the original, the PSP is certainly capable of supporting them?

The "updated" versions are terrible as well. The graphics and game play can only be described as typical shareware/homebrew style. I.e. low level untextured 3d graphics with overdone lighting, obligatory mushy color explosions everywhere (in an attempt to say "look, modern explosions!"), etc. In some cases as people have reported, they move to far from the original game play and as someone said to me, from the very formula that made the game popular in the first place.

Just doesn't make any sense. Have to chalk it up to people not as familiar with the games as they should be being hired to develop it, and a starving management desperate to get a product out for Christmas (which they wound up missing anyways).

Thank you! this is exactly how i feel about this game the other thing that burns me up is i payed money for this thing i should have unfettered access to all portions of this game and not have to complete idiotic tasks to unlock things.

  4. Wow I hope so, I cant absorb that much in charges. My ebay fees alone we over $2000 last month, We spend $500 a week just in bubble wrap. Ebay is becoming crazy. I guess there is no free lunch so we have to raise prices.. I wish there were another option. No way the seller absorbs the packaging and employee cost. The buyer bought the item the buyer pays the cost. I dont gouge but I do include that cost along with the actual shipping into what I charge to ship the item. It my case most items are large. Either 40+ lbs or pallet shipments over 200lbs.

See thats in perspective for me for items that large i can understand paying more for shipping for such items, i'm trying to figure a way to target people charging $10-$12 to ship a single DVD :?:

  5. There HAS to be a handling charge as the seller has to pay the guy who packs your item and pay for the supplies/boxes/packaging to get the item to the buyer in one piece. So if an item cost me $35 in shipping I would charge the buyer $45 to cover my costs. The box alone usually costs me $6 and I have to buy 500 of those at a time to get that price. I am not eating it

All depends on how you go about it, how much you sell and how much you want do for yourself, i never have any trouble finding free boxes simply by either getting them from work, going around to other businesses and asking, same again on packing materials re-using popcorn, newspapers, bubble wrap etc. is a great way to save money and it costs most business money to throw that stuff away so they are usually happy to just give it away.

I pack my own stuff so that saves money as well.

Sounds like you are a high volume seller so i imagine you you would have more overhead that the "part time" seller. High volume sellers usually aren't dealing in exceptionally rare items so i tend to buy those items from places like Amazon who has very reasonable shipping rates.

  6. Don't like the price don't bid.

Myself like alot of folks turn to ebay when we want something very specific, things that are no longer available anywhere else so we have no other options if we want something otherwise unobtainable. sometimes you get a fair deal but often i have received small light items that i was charged $10 or more for shipping and when it arrives i have seen $1-$2 printed on the shipping label :x Even if it was a buck or two over actual shipping i wouldn't mind so much but good lord some of these sellers are brutal.

I don't sell alot on ebay but when i do i charge exactly what it costs to ship it's the fair and customer friendly thing to do. Gouging is a very ugly business practice.

  7. Is there any law that says another company can't start up a fresh internet auction site? If ebay crashes or shapes up i could care less some healthy competition would be a good thing.

Things i 'd like to see:

A properly functioning feedback system for example if both parties are happy then cool good feedback ensues but if a neg is left there will be a dispute system for this and the auction site will decide if the neg is valid if not then it does not get filed thereby eliminating retaliatory negs.

A built in shipping calculator for all major forms of shipping to cut down on shipping gouging and there will be no option to add "handling fees" all you get as a seller is the starting price, and the exact shipping, if it is discovered that the weight was incorrect ie: adding excessive packing to weigh down the package then the seller gets charged back for it. If you sell and your item doesn't go for mega bucks it's not your responsibility to gouge the buyerIt's the risk you take as a seller.

I think a pay system like Paypal can work but there should be an equal amount of protection for the seller perhaps a free or lowcost track system to verify receipt of item thereby reducing buyers scamming sellers.

    Any other ideas?

  8. In the Yahoo! Video Games section today,

Million of Atari games are buried in the New Mexico desert

    Fact or Fiction? Fact!

"Million of Atari games"???? geez Yahoo proofread much? or perhaps it was supposed to read "All your Million of Atari games are belong to us?"

With that said i never had a problem with E.T. it was one of my favorites it was pretty dang good for it's time.

  9. Okay the Atari actually arrived today, no negs were left for either of us, we finally got the communication going and he was good to his word he did throw in extra games (including a couple i didn't have) and the claim is resolved.

  10. The seller finally contacted me directly and it's rather confusing:

"so sorry during shiping one game got broke but i had already put in three extra i will send the names today or tomorrow but the lady said it sould be there monday or tuesday i sent it usps (priority mail & the confirmation # is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx think you for understanding and i hope you love your games call if any thing gose wrong and let me know when you recieave it thank you again...."

So if i read that right he somehow shipped them but one game broke and he knew that somehow? (psychic maybe?)and was able to get the package back even though it had already shipped? (remember i never received this package) The lady at the post office said monday or tuesday from Wisconsin to Pennsylvania for priority mail? according to the track number it's still sitting in Milwaukee as i type this and he says call if anything goes wrong.....he never supplied a phone number :?

I dunno should i still neg this person? something seems a bit off with them? or should i send a message explaining in detail without being mean or condescending why i am leaving them a negative?

  11. *update* After escalating the Paypal dispute to a claim it still took a couple days before anything happened and i just received an email from Paypal stating the seller has informed them it has been shipped as of 1/26/2008 and he included a track number which did confirm it was sent this morning.

I can't wait to see what condition this system will arrive in

This seller has been unresponsive to e-mails and has lied to me, so to let you all know his ebay ID is: darwin8288

Up until now he has 100% positive feedback and doesn't seem to have had any issues up until now, for dragging this out to the point where i had to file a claim i will of course leave a negative feedback and i'm sure i'll get a retaliatory negative but i don't care, as some of you have pointed out the only way for the feedback system to properly work we have to leave those negatives.
