Well sadly none of his items sold , it makes me hesitant to sell all these NIB Atari games my aunt from New Mexico keeps sending me i dunno if they were flood damaged or what some of them are muddy and she won't tell me where she found them but she has already sent at least 50+ copies of E.T. Oh well maybe i'll hold on to them for awhile

I recently acquired a Commodore Vic20 and quite frankly it looks like a zombie drug it out of the grave with it yellowed from years of rotting in a chain smokers home, dirt and dust in all the crevasses it's hideous. I cleaned it up a good bit with Lysol wipes but it still needs help so i will try this: Denture Cleaner w/baking soda I will post the before and after pics hopefully this will work well!

Actually the store manager is just as much under the "gun" so to speak as the counter person because if the numbers aren't right for the store then they are just as likely to get fired, better to get the 800 number and complain to the district manager or area advisor or better yet contact corporate directly and voice your displeasure with the pushiness. -

Why do YOU love the 2600? (Also sort of an official introduction)
kroogur replied to Kamaria's topic in Atari 2600
Welcome to the boards! Atari was a huge part of my life in the late 70's early 80's and while i have kept up with the newer systems over the years all the way up to the Wii while there are usually one or two games that get replay on my newer systems but with the Atari or my Intellivision for that matter there is almost something magical about those systems i have tons of games for Atari and i love them all! the colors the sounds the graphics were all part of the magic. Even after all these years my Atari gets more attention than most of my other systems. -
Do you game on systems weaker than the 2600?

I have the Odyssey and the Odyssey 2 the Fairchild and several "pong" variants including the original i will test them occasionally but for the most part they are for my collection only. -
Sadly folks will see that commercial and when they find out we like Atari or any of the other classic systems they will have the image that we are "losers" because we are not hip, trendy, fresh or keeping up with the "Jones" in terms of technology. I realize it still falls under the "who cares what they think of us " category but there is still just the simple matter of pride and the fact that no one needs to be put down for enjoying something thats not deemed cool by the marketing guru's at Pepsico or any other company. Catering to a niche segment of the population will not keep you in business long but on the flip side why alienate potential customers? For example i have been steering friends, family members and customers away from Hyundai cars for years simply due to a commercial they ran a couple years back where they (Hyundai) slammed AMC by showing a family burying a Gremlin at the beach because they had to have a shiny new car and the Gremlin was old , I am a long time AMC fan and know that they are wonderful cars (go to ebay motors and do a search on AMC and see what kind of money those cars are fetching and not just the Gremlins) and while we AMC fans are a niche community when we saw that commercial we made sure to spread the word to not buy Hyundai and if i can take away even one sale of an overpriced tin can off of Hyundai then thats a good thing!

Not yet, when i'm finished with the games i remove them, now that i read through the manual i'm quite impressed it's actually a neat little system.

Pepsi can kiss my fat freakin Polish butt!!! It really does my heart good to know that when the boss wanted to put in a soda machine i talked him into RC Cola over Pepsi.

Don't forget Giant Spider Invasion with the VW Bug dressed up as a spider and of course "Packers Whooooo!" and Space Mutiny was great too with the dashing hero Beef Slabsides!

Star Castle Gladiator Xevious Gladiator used to drive me crazy trying to get past the 3rd stage, and the little convenience store up the street from my high school had Xevious i dumped a small fortune into that machine -

I tried the search feature but didn't find exactly what i was looking for so i apologize if this has been discussed to death before. I bought this system 9 years ago from Goodwill it is the console only, i found places to order the controllers but does this model (2 port) use the funky switchbox? and if so where do i go to get one? same again for the adapter. I will be trying to assemble this critter after the holidays but would like some info now so i can get an idea how much i'm going to be spending. Thank you for any help you can offer.

Greetings gang i am in the long process of unpacking all my systems and i came across this ....well i don't know what it is it looks like one -o- them early 70's "pong" variants, there is no tag on the bottom with anything meaningful and it's simply labled AGS: The controls not pictured are similar to scaled down Fairchild Channel F controllers with the roto-knob on top. Anyone have any idea who made this or when? Thanks
