  1. I apologize for any confusion but I was never the "main man" on this project jm ratkos was the winner when we had the "rpg for the 7800" poll my idea lost but I really wanted to see the project succeed so I offered to help with the storyline and such, I told Groovy right away that I had no programming skills so I was going to help work on the storyline for the time being and perhaps look into trying to learn some programming along the way but sadly it never worked out that way.I'll wait to see what jm ratkos has to say before we discuss the rpg product any further. Unlike "Team Savage" and other folks who promise the world and fail to deliver I had the stones to admit that I got in over my head and rather than string all you fine folks along with empty promises and stall tactics I gave you all the current status good or bad. Groovy has been great through this whole thing and I am still looking forward to working with him and he is still interested in the rpg project but he needs a plot/storyline etc... before that can happen. So as I mentioned in my other post I am actively taking steps to learn more about the 7800 system and what It can do and I ain't going anywhere, so please be patient with me folks.
  2. Sort of an update at least for my part in this, I was pretty excited by the prospect of this but I have realized I am a bit in over my head with this project so I have decided to step away from this for the time being and will instead take some "baby steps" to get better acquainted with the 7800 before I proceed with anything so I will just take this moment to say I am not going to pursue this RPG any further. I do wish JM the best with this and will add that I am not done with the 7800 in general and will be pursuing further education in the aspects of the 7800 system itself and hopefully some programming as well. Thanks for listening and please keep the "You suck Kroogur! and We hate yer freakin guts" comments as civil as possible.
  3. SWEET!! I been lookin' for that elusive copy of Berzeak!!
  4. It's maybe this? http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps/577911-atlantis-the-lost-tales
  5. Yeah I always had trouble telling them apart from a distance but they are somewhat interchangeable as the 1.7L motor and the 4 speed trans were made by VW. And sorry but those vehicles were the bane of my existence when I started turning wrenches in the early 90's because by then most of them were rotted out heaps that required waaay to much effort to repair. But I do agree the Shelby models were nice because the owners seemed to take better care of them.
  6. I am so glad I watched that Pole Position commercial because that is...without a doubt.... the single most awesome thing I have ever seen done to a Dodge Omni!! If only they could have done that to every one of them that rolled off the assembly line
  7. It will work fine on your CRT telly, when I picked up my first Wii all I had at the time was my trusty 19" Magnavox and it was fine.

    too true

Sweet! That would make a great poster.
  10. I have two that get somewhat regular use one for the house and one in my RV for "mobile" Atari fun! and on a side note I keep a non working Atari 5200 around to pummel my neighbors with when they are drunk and fighting in the alley behind my house at 3 A.M.* *please use your non working 5200's responsibly and not for pummeling drunken idiots*
  11. Good deal. I fixed my day 1 console a long time back... 3 weeks before they extended the warranty. Kind of pissed me off a little bit. If I had gone ahead and payed for the repair they would have refunded it when they extended the warranty. Anyway, glad you got it working. Thanks! I had logged my info in at microsoft and they said the console was definitely out of warranty and if I paid to have them fix it it would have been more cost effective to just buy another refurb from Gamestop.
  12. I fixed it! and it was not too hard. I bought the tube of arctic silver thermal paste and some small washers and with some careful work it really worked.
  13. The parents are always to blame. Bringing another human being into society is a tremendous responsibility and raising that child to be a productive and stable member of society is an even greater responsibility. One needs a great deal of training as well as licenses/certifications etc... to practice medicine, law etc... because if not done correctly the results could be disastrous the same should apply to parenting there should be a "license to conceive" where the aspiring parents should have to take a training course to learn how to correctly raise their children to get the license. Buying GTA4 or other such games just so it will get little johnny or sally out of your hair for a couple few hours is not solid parenting it's horrific parenting and will lead to problems due to the child getting no guidance and attention from mom and dad.
  14. Well it happened again! There I was innocently slaughtering raiders in Fallout 3 and the game froze and I got the red ring I've lost track as this is the third or fourth time my 360 has failed. Soooo after much debate (and getting Fallout 3 for the PC) I checked my warranty on Microsoft and it's expired so they about as good as told me to get stuffed. I bought the thermal paste and washers and will try the "repair" at work today hopefully it works. I did send a polite email (which will likely be ignored) to Microsoft explaining that I am an auto mechanic at a car dealership and have been for years and when one of the cars we sell has a defective part it is replaced under warranty with an upgraded part that is less likely to fail if at all because we want customer satisfaction and repeat business. I pointed out to them that when my console was sent in last year for repair the console they sent me was an even older unit than what i sent them it would seem to me that since the Jasper units were in full production at the time why not just ship those to fulfill the warranty obligations when dealing with anything from appliances to autos since when was it acceptable to replace the "broken" parts with rubbish used parts?? you replace them with new updated parts which is the correct way to do it.
  15. http://www.ballyalley.com/ads_and_catalogs/bally/bally.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bally_Astrocade There's a couple sites with some info for you. And welcome to Atari Age! good to see new folks here.
  16. An updated version of Utopia might be interesting. And online interaction with other players could open up some even more diverse gameplay options.
  17. Road Rash is a great choice! Gex is a must too, Twisted the Game show is both quirky and fun. Slayer and Deathkeep are fun and Street Fighter II Turbo is decent.
  18. Thanks for the update, even though it was not "resolved" totally it sounds like the doc has a good handle on the situation and is doing his best to make sure you will be with your friends and family and most important for lil Bean I will always keep you in my prayers. Stay strong, Tim

    Service manuals?

    Awesome! thanks for the info.
  20. I did a search but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. Are there any places to purchase or view the service manuals for game consoles like the 2600 or other systems? Things like troubleshooting and circuit board layout?
  21. Very weird but very cool! Thanks for sharing that!
  22. AM Radio station KDKA 1020. For some reason I rarely like the music in modern games so I have good old KDKA on quietly in the background and it helps me focus on the game. The last games I played where I liked the soundtrack was Vigilante 8 Second Offense or GTA Vice City.
  23. Red hot chat happening right now right this minute over in the atari chat room!!
  24. I'm a die hard fan of The Irate Gamer and don't care for the Angry Video Game Nerd will that negatively impact my participation at GameGavel? on a more serious note congrats and I hope things continue to go great for you!
