  1. My scenario did not win the poll but I am still very interested in this project and in an effort to help move it along I will start a new thread this weekend with a basic plot outline in the spirit of the winning scenario it would be awesome to not only have the winner of the poll help but it would be great to have the rest of the community chime in and help this along. More to come this weekend

  3. Thanks for the birthday greeting :)

  4. Thanks for the Birthday greeting! :)

  5. Thank you! for the Birthday greeting and Congratulations on your newest family member! :)

  6. Urban Champion and The Soccer game seem to be the only ones repeated, and I agree the D pad seems a little vague but all in all this thing is actually pretty interesting. The game selection is not bad (except for the weird Pyramid Tetris game) the controller itself feels solidly built and the buttons work well. The best part for me? The actual Tetris game used in this unit is not the so-so Nintendo version but the Tengen version!
  7. I would love to have a Vectrex even with a flickery flippy screen but sadly my cash flow is but a trickle these days but if you ever grab that hammer in frustration let me know and maybe we could sort something out.
  8. Correct the games are blobby, and generic looking and not even derivative of any game I could recognize other than Battleship. Sadly none of them are interesting enough to want to play.
  9. Chat happening in a few minutes be there or be square and not the cool kind like in Adventure either.
  10. I loved it when it came out and I played it to death but I loathe my Playstation it is buried under a ton of dust and Vic 20 tapes in the back of my closet I think the biggest issue was and is the load times they are ungodly long. When I got my Dreamcast the Playstation was duly kicked to ye olde curb with the rest of the slow moving flotsam.
  11. Ok I found the 101 in 1 for $10 and my friend got me the 50 in 1 so I have both now. The 50 in 1 is complete rubbish I would put the graphics quality somewhere between Intellivision and Early NES efforts. The controls on the Shooter style games is adequate bit on the Platformers it is slow and collision detection is sketchy at best, the only game I recognized was a rip off of Battleship. All in all not worth the $12.99 he paid for it. I'll finish checking out the 101 in 1 tonight.
  12. Oh I know they make a rare (no pun intended ) appearance at the odd flea market or thrift shop but for the most part they have dried up in the area I cover from Rogers, Ohio to Youngstown, Ohio and in PA from Erie County down to Allegheny/Washington counties and everywhere in between. I see some very overpriced commons occasionally and a good deal now and again on Craigslist but not ike the good old days. Sounds like you have a bit more variety in your area.
  13. Rare is in the eye of the beholder. If you live in saaaay Thighcheese,WV and your town is so small and remote that even internet access is sketchy and you just got into collecting Atari then pretty much any cart including Combat is rare. Or look at it this way it's been about 30 years since the 2600 happened pretty much everything is getting scarce as carts/systems have long since moved into the hands of either collectors, game shops, or the local landfill (Not just Alamagordo) so you have basically a certain amount now that moves around usually on ePay or other sites rather than the abundant amount seen at yard sales, thrift shops, etc... that we saw in the late 80's through the 90's. Just another viewpoint.
  14. Ok i stopped at Walgreens on the way home and all they had was Plug-n-Play 50 Games and it was $12.99 the companies name is dreamGear and the website is: http://www.dreamgear.net/ the address is simply a PO Box in Torrence,CA From what I could tell by the minuscule pics on the back the "games" are mostly NES style games like Super Mario 2, Zelda, RC Pro Am? and such. And no i'm not wasting $12.99 on this thing....$4.99 maybe. And I am not surprised at all to see these things at Walgreens/Wal-Mart etc... as much of the inventory they carry is made in China so why would they not carry what their biggest suppliers tell them to carry? Last year they had them Wii-mote games at Walgreens Dr. Ashens even reviewed them:
  15. I'll be getting it as soon as it hits the $20 or less range. I love me some Mario games but of late they are getting a tad too easy, I had purchased The latest Mario game for the DS and blew through it in less than a week just casually playing it.
  16. Atari 7800 no question... It plays 7800 games and 2600 games! whats not to love? Get a set of Pro Pads instead of the crap joysticks that came with it and you got the total gaming package.
  17. Empire for the 2600 will always have a special place on my 2600 shelf, simple plot, fluid controls it's simply a joy to play and it conveys a sense of dread with the ever advancing AT-ATs. I also enjoyed Dark Forces although it didn't truly feel like Star Wars but it was a great game. And I thoroughly enjoy Lego Star Wars it's a great game and a great concept.
  18. These guys are awesome I have the complete Strongbad series from them and they did a great job (or joerb ) So I have no doubt this series will be well worth getting.
  19. Math Gran Prix...... Yes i'm serious. While it wasn't extreme racing action it was a great concept and a unique game that I still enjoy playing to this day.
  20. Cool chat happening right now over at the Chuckwagon! Everyone is welcome!
  21. And this is a stunning revelation how? We all know this, folks on other gaming forums know it, youtube is littered with videos about it, the internets is chock full of blogs and articles about it..... Why did it sell as good as it did? because it didn't cost 3 times too much like the PS3 and unlike the Wii you could actually find one on the shelf at any given store. People will go with whats convenient even if it's substandard.
  22. A place called Ollie's Bargain Outlet http://www.olliesbargainoutlet.com/
  23. Sorry I was mistaken it was Missile Command not Space Invaders (sorry for the blur on the side shot) And it is controlled by a red joystick like the Pac Man one but I couldn't find it.
  24. Don't sweat it man you're alright. I got the arthritis in both hands, carpal tunnel(both wrists) with nerve damage on my right wrist from a botched surgery, tendinitis, and when i'm at work i'm always dropping sockets or wrenches and 8 maybe 9 times out of ten I will catch it before it hits the ground, so the hand/eye co-ordination still works but like you I have no tolerance for crapola in my games and I think thats what the problem is. I noticed as I get older I have less patience for nonsense and in games where you have 10-15 enemies firing on you from every direction it is annoying or in fighting games where you have to press 5 buttons simultaneously while press up,down and sideways in a semi-circle just to get your fighter to do a move it's frustrating because they make it harder than it needs to be. There is a razor thin line between enjoyable game and frustrating nightmare. I like Capcom too but I agree they have just been getting a bit ridiculous so I just move on to other games like Oblivion, or Bioshock etc...
