  1. Anyone ever thought of porting/making Tapper for the 7800? Have been playing it at the arcade latley and pining for a good home port.

And the home port is actually pretty fantastic

When I watch, it's fascinating how all the fries land in the box perfectly at the end. I wonder if it was shot in reverse and possibly upside-down or with some air-pump underneath.

  4. I just started really exploring the Atari 7800 homebrew library today and I am absolutely amazed by the metric ton of awesome arcade ports that Robert DeCrescenzo has put out. This guy deserves some kind of Atari lifetime achievement award!

  5. The Star Wars: Rogue One trailer looks pretty cool!

I always thought Rogue One was going to be an origin story for Wedge Antilles, Gold Leader, etc...

  6. Maybe I'm just out of touch, but I'm not getting the massive appeal of Minecraft. Whenever I see my nephews and their friends play it, all they do is make buildings and other shapes out of the blocks. If you take the "Video Graffiti" mode of 2600 Surround, make it 3D, change the background into a green field, and add different-colored blocks, you've pretty much got Minecraft, as far as I can tell.

I heard that if you think of it like "virtual legos", it makes sense why kids find it appealing.

  7. I seem destined to never having a good NES experience. I've had three from loaders with the blinking problem. Then a front loader that displays a blank grey screen more than it displays the games. Now a RetroDuo that won't play 1/3 of my games and has bad sounds, washed out colors on the others. (sigh)

For the blank grey screen, I have a NES that does that, but when you hit the reset button, it goes through. Something about "not enough power using the power button"

  9. Does the NES top loader fire up games on 1st try? Is it better than my regular NES box?

Mine works about 10 times better than my "toaster"

  10. I think I'm gonna have to list some more stuff for sale pretty soon. In a momment of weakness I spent $170 on designer action figures last night. lol Avp for Jag will likely go up for sale this weekend, possibly along side my virtual boy, and anything else I decide its time to pass on.

Any interesting VB games that you're getting rid of? Or, just the system?

  11. Pac-man or Pac-man Plus?

    1. Propane13

      Propane13

PacManPlus the atariage guy-- that wins every time. And, if it wasn't for Pac Man Plus, then the 7800 library would probably still be quite dead.

  12. Game no. 1 on is coming along swimmingly. It's a project I've been working on and off with for a couple of years. Started it afresh again and took 3 days to get the engine working. Now it's just the HUD and gameplay enhancements left.

  13. Just tried a Doritos Locos Taco at Taco Bell -- them be good!

If you're looking into 6502 stuff, I recommend posting here at atariage when you have questions, in the 2600 programming section. It takes awhile to click, but people here are glad to help.
