  1. What about Paul Oswood's "The Core"? And of course, a finished copy of "Pressure Gauge II"? It's on my "some day to do list" -John
  2. I was thinking to pick up this title for Christmas. Anybody ever played this? I thought it might be a fun "head-to-head" game. There aren't any Mortal Kombat style games out there; so, I think this is the closest. Any opinions? -John
  3. Is "You're an Idiot!" a homebrew that's coming out soon? -John
  4. Hmm... Pitfall 2 was wonderful Mountain King (not mentioned yet?) I can't remember if BMX airmaster or Fatal Run had better music. -John
  5. Actually, I think it depends on what sort of RAM chip you've got. If I were to guess, the first board is pulled by grabbing states of RAM on power-up. IIRC, my first scene was way different. But, it was still beatable. This might be a fun thing to experiment with, if anyone has some different RAM chips from different manufacturers. -John
  6. Or, maybe someone would be interested in this service (assuming the info was provided for how to do it)? Maybe ResQSoft? -John
  7. I have an EPROM burner if you want to talk about it. Been awhile since I made my fixed "Possible Mission" cart, so I'd need to do some homework. I believe I cannibalized a Jinks cart to get it to work. -John
  8. Whoa! I figured it out. The guy's TV was upside-down! -John
  9. Someone should make a mock-up of the Devil's Tower thing. -John
  10. Where did you get it? I have played the fixed version and beaten it. You can download a working version from my website. Mitch Hi Mitch, Is that the version I put together? If so, that version definitely works. I have a screenshot from the end that I took as proof. -John
  11. 13 is my favorite number. It follows me around randomly; I used to see the number every day in a random occurrence. My original username was Propanelllo, because I just took 2 random objects and stuck them together, propane and jello, and then added an extra L for originality. Eventually, I removed the extra L, and then finally, I shortened the whole thing cuz it was just easier to explain online. No one questions something odd like "Propane", but everybody questions Propanelllo. So, I'm not quite sure how I got to where I am; it has absolutely nothing to do with my likes or dislikes-- just a random thing that sorta stuck. -John
  12. I recommend to start a new thread-- people don't know to look for that here. -John
  13. I first read this as "Video poops" -- out after 2 minutes. Like someone was releasing a very undesired hack of Video pinball. -John
  14. Actually, that's not it; it's just that the puzzle pieces are distributed in such a way as to not be behind terminals. -John
  15. None of the Froggo games were worked on-- just announced as ideas. So, don't hold your breath on those ever showing up. -John
  16. Summer games-- that swimming event just takes forever. Simple answer is-- go decathlon. Just don't tell your friends about the 1500 at the end.
  17. Can we get a demo of the moving-honk-square masterpiece? I've heard that it's a rare protorype. -John
  18. OOh-- can someone post a screenshot with a trophy? -John

    7800 mp3s?

Hmm... let me think. Some of these things could make good Rigtones-- thanks Mitch-- I forgot about the Jinks opener (listead at that site). I guess maybe Jinks would be interesting (by the way, what the hell does the guy say at the beginning of Jinks? And also, at the beginning of Jinks before the "you can't catch me" comment, is that the same sound as in Gauntlet)? So, that comes down to it-- what has the best music (to listen to, or for ringtones)? Midnight Mutants (there are like 5 themes) Fatal Run Ballblazer Double Dragon opener For Ringtones: Jinks Opener Galaga opener Ninja Golf opener? Hmm... I need to play 7800 tonight. I can't remember if Water Ski has an intro or not-- and that's a little embarassing. -John
  20. Cough *Legal issues*. Cough *unavailable boards*. Personally, I think that's a helluva idea regardless. Possible Mission would be a very lucrative cart to sell. I think the gutting of innocent 7800 carts tho-- well, that hurts just to think about. If someone makes a 7800 board that supports this, then, sure! I think it's a great idea! Cannibalizing carts-- well, that's a hard call. I do have a cannibalized cart that plays "Possible Mission" at home. As for legal issues, that cuts in on potential "for a tiny profit" sales, which anyone doing the hardware work would likely want payment for (as cart disassembly and reassembly is a pain). So, good idea, but may need some work before it could be a reality. If someone's up for doing it, feel free to contact me for the ROM (which is out there anyway). -John P.S. Finishing this game made me feel like a million bucks!

    7800 mp3s?

Hi everyone, I know that for Nintendo, there are nsf files, and for Super-nintendo, there are spc files. But, for the 7800, does anyone have a collection of something simple (like raw mp3's)? I'm probably the only person here who "jams out" to videogame music at work on occasion. -John
  22. BMX rules! I played the NES version of BMX and went "What? Where's the crazy downhill breakneck speed?!?!?" Then I ate a Nilla Wafer. -John
  23. Did you hear the one about the guy who played Frostbite and got crabs? Actually, probably shouldn't tell that one... -John
  24. Are there any Atari jokes? Really bad ones? Like, truly awful? Q) Which Atari character is always ready to travel? A) Pac-man ("pack-man") Q) What did Evil Otto do when he found someone in his maze? A) He went berserk! There's gotta be much worse than these-- I wonder what's at the bottom of the barrel. -John
