Breast Cancer Cartridge #1 Auction - One Week Only!
Propane13 replied to Albert's topic in Atari 2600
It's a good cause. I'll be watching this thread. -John K. Harvey -
Hmm... I wasn't aware that Ewok adventure had a release. Even if they made a new cart for it (which people in the community like to do for protorypes), I'm surprised to see it's in a Parker Brothers cart. Are they all like that? How many are there? Did I miss something? Why does my left arm itch? -John

Which 2600 games Scared you/ found hard when you were young?
Propane13 replied to rheffera's topic in Atari 2600
The most unnerving thing about playing Star Raiders in a quiet dark room when I was a kid was... losing. I remember blowing up most of the enemy armada, and getting down to just about 4 or 5 enemies left. Then suddenly, the whole screen fried, and these sounds that indicated that my ship exploded thundered forth. Quite creepy! -John -
Don't forget Pressure Gauge 2! Oh wait-- I never finished that.... yet. I've only been delaying for about 6 years now. -John

No, no no. You've got it all wrong. You should do something interesting like "Only button games". And there's only one I can think of.... and that's Pressure Gauge. That's why I'm proud. One button of input, one thousand times pushing the reset button for more! Or, was there another "only-button game" that beat me to it? -John

Are you sure that isn't pizza? -John

Reindeer Rescue. -John

Except you can't get Reindeer Rescue anymore. Can you?! I'd LOVE a copy of that one. Me too; me too. I've tried a few times in the forums here, but to no effect. Maybe it'll have a re-release in Christmas 2006?!? I can always dream. I think the bin is out there tho. -John

Marble Craze! -John

No!!!! It can't be! Curse you Reindeer Rescue 2005! How many times will you mock me with your un-obtainability? How many!?!?!? -John

Midnight Mutants Ballblazer (when I've got a pal around) Scrapyard Dog Ninja Golf is my favorite game to show off. -John

This game was fun till I figured out that if you missed all traffic, you could beat the game. Basically, a perfect run means that all the cool stuff at the bottom is simply missed. -John

I'll post here if I get a perfect score in maze 2 If you do this, you would immediately become my hero. I personally think it's impossible. Lousy spastic bats. Lousy 5200 controllers. Lousy hard jumps. Lousy everyting. I tried, and after many days of frustration, I gave up. From a guy who spent a lot of time trying to beat Pitfall 2 perfectly (with many successes), my opinion is-- it can't be done. As a side note, here's something I wondered. What happens if you get Quickclaw as the "not the last" item? What if you get Rhonda or the Raj diamond last? Will the hole open up on the left anyway? Does Pitfall Harry just run left into a wall (since the door that opens is by Quickclaw)? Or does the game just end? Regards, -John

Uhh..... Fast Food? Secret Quest is a good game; haven't finished it... yet. -John

I'm not posted anywhere, but that's my favorite achievement too. Last time I did it was 2 years ago. It's great, because in the last cavern, it gets REALLY intense. I've had too many experiences as a kid where I was in the last area with the final 3 scorpions, and then there's that nightmare where there's a ladder-hole with the bat and the frog. That's the place where I accidentally screw up royally often (usually touching the frog due to a bad joystick tap, or worst yet, accidentally falling down the ladder hole after getting the rat). That last jump drives my adrenaline level to the extreme. And, missing by that little... oh man, the most frustrating thing on the planet.

Old Hozer data is still missing, even with that search on atariage. Alphanumeric Madness, 2600 Post-it Note, and Tazer are all missing. I even had a demo version of Pressure Gauge 2 at one time. So, my recommendation is... if you want to capture all of the oldies, you'll need to get an old Hozer catalog to start. Oh, and don't forget to add "The Core". That won't be anywhere. -John

At first, I had just believed that they make ROTLA for Vectrex when looking at that box, since it's very, very dark. After squinting, I can see that it's just... well, very, very dark. -John

Looks fun! -John

Great game, I agree! Under 10 minutes? Wow! -John

congrats! You should take video and send it to video.google.com. I would love to be able to type "Time Attack" in the search engine, and actually get an Atari one. -John

Just wanted to say great job! Tremendous undertaking, very cool results. -John

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. But sheesh, the post-release bugs are embarrassing as hell. And how many do you still have to ship out? If it is a bunch, it might be worth trying to squash this bug. A fair number, probably around 50 (tied with Adventure II orders). ..Al Um.. any chance you can make it 51?
