Why couldn’t we get a normal tracking # with our shipment?
I have no idea if my game is coming or not.

None of us did, it showing up one day is fine for the majority evidently. Who cares to follow every detail, let something be a surprise like the title itself and don't sweat something so insignificant. We are lucky to have an organized group providing these consistent quality games and now systems. I get annoyed when people drag them down with BS like this and the Core update complaints for fear they will say screw it and move on to something else with their time.

Hi John! We actually don't have a list for this. If you have subscribed to my Opcode newsletter, then you will notified when the game is available. I prefer not to have pre-order for games, unless I am really short on money. Getting money in advance is never the best option, unless I absolutely have to. Anyway, in case you haven't subscribed yet, please consider subscribing to the newsletter here:

Hi ! Thanks for the quick reply, that makes it easier...I double checked and I am already subscribed.

    Wonderful idea.  :)

The game experience would be enhanced if the controller had a trackball instead of a joystick, but I realize that would add a lot of complexity to the controller. In any case, having big (Mouse-Trap-like) buttons for the US regions, and small buttons for the defense units would make the controller look cool, and give the game a weird arcade feel which it never actually had.

I like this idea a lot! A controller with the random light patterns, like the inside of the LIS Jupiter 2...I like the blocks of 16 lights.... would be really fun!

The list is still open. We will have a few announcements soon, including the controller. And in a few months, more announcements regarding the SGM2 and games that we haven't announced yet. Grazi is back on board and hopefully we will make lots of CV fans happy this year.

    Great news!

I went ahead and added 1 unlockable, 2nd neighborhood, 1 weather effect, banana, 6 different sound effects, added additional message if you completed the 2nd neighborhood dog house.  One thing that I liked the Atari 2600 are the unlockable so this demo demonstrate that feature.

To unlock the new mode, get under 1:20 in the first neighborhood. I got under 1 minute before, 'tis possible. After unlocking the mode, a menu now appear after pressing the fire button at the title screen.

Unfortunately the snowflakes knock you out of the sky in this short demo to increase the difficulty and sell more controller insurance due to broken controller from raging gamers.  In the release version, the weather effect will freezes/vibrates santa.

    Gifeo of the new feature:

    MeanSanta5.gif.f5c3efd93dd6b249220d49d469470df2.gif

    Demo ROM:MeanSantaDemo2.rom

I'm going to try to add all 31 houses in this version then add some more.  Each rooms in ROM are 192 bytes each since I'm using metatiling technique to conserve ROM space.  And more unlockable modes not found in the Atari 2600 version.  Probably music will be added if space available. I'm aiming to have this game at 32KB maximum.

Again, enjoy and have a happy holiday.

Thanks so much, Merry Belated Christmas! Trying this now on my Phoenix.

As an exercise to satisfy my curiosity,  I went through all the major companies that are list on the AtariAge main site and went through the manuals looking for games that used the Asteroids style controls (rotate left/rotate right/thrust up/hyperspace down/fire or similar) as well as games that only used left or right like Space Invaders or AstroBlast

By no means complete here is a rough list of 2600 games that could be compatible:

If there is a dash in the game name and controls columns that means no games from that company have compatible controls schemes

A couple of games have no controls listed because I couldn't conclusively tell but they bear further investigation.

If a company doesn't appear then I didn't drill into it so there will be more 😉

Keeping in mind that I only spent an hour, have a look. I think we could crowd source the investigation of the 2600/8-bit/7800/ColecoVision and come up with a pretty decent master list

    2600 Asteroid style controls v0.1.pdf 82.58 kB · 5 downloads

    Sweet list, thank you !!
