I think the 7800XM still has it beat.

Purchased my F18 here...

Once you have it...you will be hooked instantly! Screen gets a bit smaller....but for the quality....well worth it!!
Cool, thanks so much for the info! : )

Last week was 9 years since DKA was announced...now I understand why you started this poll
......ironically Nintendo released the arcade version in their e-shop a few weeks back.-

Ordered!! Awesome release gents!

Donkey Kong and DKJ are pretty hard to find...

The old version is perfect already. I don't see how it can be improved. What's so special about the DX version, anyway?
For starters it's deluxe. I believe it will use the Opcode SGM module allowing for graphical and sound improvements. I think the original is great but the arcade versions are the benchmark and this collection did not and could not reach that level with the original horsepower of the Coleco.

The new and improved Opcode release, Pac-Man Collection DX, is on the soon to be released list...

The odds of these two systems releasing anywhere near each other is extremely low I believe. In that case, the first to market usually has a major advantage so long as it wasn't released with any major faults.

How much does a clean, fully functioning, standard audio/video upgraded, ColecoVision cost WITH the SGM if you can find one? I am going to say easy $250 -300 and up. In my humble opinion the value is well within the price even at say $330 plus $20 so $350
-
This right here...
If we are really fighting over a twenty dollar bill please just stop right now. Twenty dollars is nothing. Just say "yes" to that deal, include the SGM into the system, continue making SGM games, put out an amazing system, and all parties, customers included, are happy.
When I think of the amount of money I have spent over the past few years collecting and playing ColecoVision games, seriously, spending an extra twenty dollars wouldn't even be on my radar of things to get hung up over. If twenty dollars is what it takes to help bring this community back together and for me to say "THANK YOU" to all parties involved for their hard work, you can count me in!
I agree. In my opinion Opcode has had a huge influence on the community and the Colecovision audience being what it is today. Honestly I don't know if I would be engaged without him. When Pac-Man collection, Space Invaders & Magical Tree were released over 10 years ago these were game changers in their quality and packaging. These 3 releases are what captured my attention again in the Colecovision. I think $20 is fair as most people here paid $90 for the SGM. Now $20 is to much?

Here is my concern.
I don't know the most recent partnership between Opcode & Team Pixel Boy but the last exchange i saw it didn't seem they would be working together in the future. I could be wrong but even if they were I also understand Team Pixel Boy was going to step down from publishing.
My point is that 2 of the Big 3 Colecovision & SGM publishers seem to have parted ways with Opcode.
If this is true then I am sad that there will be significantly less SGM games in the future and this is only hurting Opcode and everyone who purchased a SGM.

The SGM issue has been decided....we heard it straight from CollectorVision.
-
I can't wait for the CollectorVision Game System, I hope to be among the first owners!!

-
No needs to
Since we cannot include the SGM compatibility, the user will be able to add it
Our system will be completely open to add features!

I understand, I was only hoping it would help to continue your programming for the SGM as you are one of the big 3

-
of course, I don't even know why I asked.
Any possibility for a Kickstarter to bridge this particular gap only, not for the entire system?
-
I know, right?
Can you share where the breakdown was without starting a Coleco-Brawl?
-
Ok, sadly we couldn't come to an agreement with Eduardo about the SGM compatibility with our console
That being said, we're NOT going to make any more SGM compatible games
Although, those who are buying our system will be able to ''hack'' their console and add the SGM compatibility (just like the Analogue SuperNT)
Man that's a shame...we are stronger together and united....I am bummed....

Another quick update: I just finished gluing the last of the boxes for the third group. I'm going to go purchase some shipping boxes today and tomorrow evening, and I'll begin contacting the people of the third group Tuesday evening.

Looking forward!

Thanks for the update!

Wow, has it really been almost a month since the last update? Time sure flies!
Anyway, I have just under 10 customers from which I'm still waiting for payment. Despite this, I consider the second phase of order processing to be behind me. I'll deal with those remaining customers on a case-per-case basis.
After I've finished filling out the tax forms for myself and my mother this week-end, I will turn my attention to assembling cartridges and gluing boxes for the third group of customers who are still waiting for their games.
We're already in the middle of April and I consider myself to be behind schedule. The first packages of the third group will likely ship in May only. Can't wait to get this all done.

Yay!! I am in the third group!

Mine arrived, awesome job and packaging!! Thank you Opcode and Atari Age
Far less important but just wanted to share a sides note. IMO the transparent case could have been a little more so.

Is Opcode EVER going to Release Donkey Kong Arcade!
in Opcode Games
Posted
Yes, I bought it. It is under their "arcade"series, not the NES version, and while I don't pretend to be an expert I would say it is exact to the arcade IMO and includes several versions of the game.
