Jawbreaker, of course, to 100,000 !!!
-
What a sorry picture (which says only a lot of words about the seller) and virtually no text description. Maybe the buyer can retract his bid for lack of an adequate description, but they may actually want the cartridge for $10.00....

Phil, that I even looked at the Beagle auction other than from this board is news to me, let alone bidding on it. You sure you know my Ebay ID, which is Alltheabove. I'm going to take a look at the auction and if my ID appears, something really, really strange is going on. Okay, I'm okay now..... I just checked and my name is not on the bid list. Now that would've really been a shocker !!

I've searched around looking for information regarding appraising and selling video games. I haven't found much (I do appreciate all the great info in the "Feedback" thread and that helped a lot), but I did find this: ============================================== Like New: an apparently unopened video game in perfect condition (although it may be out of its original wrapping). The box and item are pristine, with no signs of wear. Suitable for presenting as a gift. Very Good: a well-cared-for video game that has been played but remains in great condition. The game and its original packaging are complete and slightly worn, but unmarked and undamaged. Good: the video game shows wear from consistent use, but remains in good condition. There may be clear external signs of wear and damage to the original packaging or instructions, but the game plays perfectly. Acceptable: the video game is fairly worn but it continues to work perfectly. The box and instructions may be missing or damaged. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. ============================================ This is just my own personal quest for honestly appraising and selling items. I think one of the best things to do is just to be as truthful as possible and give the very best screenshots possible. Further comment appreciated. Thanks.

I traded Jawbreaker for a multi-cart that a member? of the board made. I received the multi-cart and it has the original John Harris Jawbreaker, DataSoft Pac-Man, Two Maze, and Tumble Bugs. Thing about all of this is that the member? (haven't heard from him in 2 weeks now: Nir Dary, couldn't find him in the member list..) lives in Israel and I think 2 of the games are in PAL format (from menu goes to 2 of the games and you can hear it, but there's only scrambled video), the DatSoft Pac-Man goes to the intro screen and just stops, and Two Maze actually works. 'Wondering if anyone has any ideals about what could be up; was the cart just programmed poorly or what ? I've checked the contacts and it's seating fine. I'm using it with my 800. Any chance you need something with more memory ? Any comment/suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

If you REALLY need a copy of Jawbreaker...

Yeh, that "buy it now" was a little aggressive. I bid $10.00, and this is not even the ORIGINAL Jawbreaker that came out for the 8-bit's, which is a much better game IMHO. CF disagrees, but, to each his own..... -
Yes, this is the same seller that had a 800XL for sale that ended up selling for $3.91 if I'm not mistaken (deleted the watching link on Ebay...). Good deal unless you wind up with something DOE or whatever. You really have to watch Ebay for bargains. Phil said it best when he was talking about time spent, with which I don't disagree, but sometimes the time spent saves you a bundle.

Thanks, room34 ! It's nice to be in such good company.

PayPal Situation: Pot Calling the Kettle Black :) ??
zraider replied to zraider's topic in Auction Central
You're exactly correct regarding him contacting PayPal; I haven't seen anything yet from them, and I'm bugging them to death. At least they do have a dispute going that's in review. And the statement regarding that I didn't want the money back through PayPal is totally false. He didn't want to pay the fee charged by PayPal and stated he would mail a money order. I just want my money, regardless. Sometimes I think nothing anyone ever does will ever amaze me, that I've just about seen it all, and yet I'm proven wrong time and time again. I really don't know if the IFCC (IFCCFBI) can really do anything, or if they only get involved with cases where thousands of dollars are involved. I can only hope that persistent, relentless pressure will get this individual to refund my money. -
Yes, I did get taken by 'soulonmyboots' for the SwordQuest WaterWorld. That was it I was selling, but I had unwrapped his unique brand of shrinkwrapping and had gone over all the items and the cart itself is in mint condition. The box has a small tear on one of the seams on the bottom, and one of the booklets has a small crease in it. The other booklets are like new condition. The Q*Bert cart was one I purchased earlier as Phil stated. It's in mint condition, and I've gone over it with a magnifying glass. Look, I made a mistake, but hopefully it will be constructive and all members won't think that's totally indicative of the type person I am. I can understand any doubts though. On a better note, I did purchase a HP 4400c scanner today and have installed it and have been playing with it so that I can display items as realistically and honestly as possible. However, I may try a digital camera just to see what works best. By the way, did anyone ever determine if a SwordQuest WaterWorld did come with a poster ? Someone had stated that FireWorld had a poster with it. If so, it must've been awful small or folded many multiple times. Please let me know if anyone knows, as I don't won't to relist this item as "complete" is it's not. Thanks.

I understand your concerns and I have ended the auctions. I'm gettting a new scanner today to show buyers exactly what they're getting. I'm also going to read the volumes of advice in this thread again, as I know many of the members are experienced and knowledgeable sellers, and are offering a lot of good advice.

These were my items and I have ended the auctions. I did write Albert regarding using these but never got a response, but I went ahead and jumped the gun. I've explained this in the "Feedback" post in this forum. I'm getting a new scannner today and will relist the items. Again, I apologize to all members for something so stupid, but I was not attempting to do anything but sell the items; if you read the descriptions they're not all glossed over like each game was the last one made. Still, I made a mistake which I take responsibility for.

I jumped the gun after reading all the great advice in this thread and listed items on Ebay using scans from AtariAge without giving credit to the source. The actual scans don't bother me that much, as I've looked at what I have with a magnifying glass, and I can honestly see no difference. It's the principle of the act. Instead of waiting a day to get a new scanner, I took the lazy way out. This reflects badly on me and I apologize to every member of the board. If I'm banned to the netherworld (or off the board), so be it, but I cannot be dishonest with such a great group of members, or to anyone on Ebay. Actually, the auctions are truthful and direct, and except for the lack of crediting and thanking AtariAge for the scans, I am being totally honest and truthful with any buyer who asks a question. Regardless, I had to make this post, as I've met a lot of great people here and that means so much more than auctions or making money. Thanks.

I made a post regarding a double payment I had made to "soulonmyboots" of Ebay fame. After waiting almost 3 weeks, I filed a complaint with the IFCC and with the selller's internet provider. His initial response to the overpayment situation follows (June 2): ======================================= Hi Sorry for the delay in replying, I have been busy with work. Yes, your refund was sent via mail and should be there soon but please remember that mail from Canada is slower than mail within the US. I did offer refund via paypal but you wanted to be refunded via mail instead. It should be there soon. Please try not to get upset if I do not respond right away, I am just busy with work. thanks for your patience ========================================= Now after filing the complaint and informing him (or her ? Louise May on PayPal) this is the response I get today: ========================================= I was a little suspicious so I figured I would wait and sure enough you have caused paypal to put it in REVIEW, therefore, you will be getting your money back from PAYPAL. Just think, if I did send you a money order you would have been refunded twice. I am glad I waited. I am going ahead and contacting paypal to get them to refund the overpayment to speed things up. Please tell me...were you trying to scam me? ========================================== I mean, was I TRYING TO SCAM HIM :) ???!!!!! Sure, that was the plan the whole time !! What planet is this guy from ? Anyway, 'thought I'd post an update on the PayPal situation and let members see just what kind of individual this guy is. And if anyone wants to take the time to look at this guys feedback, it's really bad if you go back 9 months or more. If anyone wants to see the whole thing with e-mail headers I'll post it, but I think you all get the point from the above. It takes all kinds.....

Thanks, I'll see what I can get going tomorrow. Also though, the Nintendo has outputs for separate video and audio on the side and I tried hooking up my camcorder connectors to these and the TV but got nothing. I guess I'm slow, but Nintendo is totally new to me.

I picked up an Nintendo with several games at a garage sale. I see where it's says 9vac on the back of it (power suppy with it was 16vac; go figure), and I've tried an Atari power supply that states 9vac, but I just get a black screen. With some cartridges, the power light blinks and it seems that reseating the cartridge will stop this, but what about the video input ? It had a plain old video cable with plugs on both ends. Will this work with the standard adapters that are used with the Atari systems or does it require something different ? Any help appreciated.

The box was crumpled in several places and faded and the cart itself has several dings on it, as well as a label that starting to peel off in places. The guy shrinkwrapped it himself (why I don't know) and did a very poor job, probably hoping the buyer wouldn't inspect it as closely. I did open it up as he did state he had tested it, so it's not like it was factory fresh.

atari 2600 beagle brothers cart on ebay...real?
zraider replied to CincYnoTi's topic in Auction Central
Yeh, that's "SOULONMYBOOTS", the seller who took me for a ride. This guy must sell to himself to have that much good feedback !! What a jerk !! You might notice that he now has no auctions. I wonder why ?? -
I've had a really bad transaction with "SOULONMYBOOTS" on Ebay. This guy sold me this item: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MfcIS...item=1355352556 and it is not as pictured or specified. Due to an error on PayPal I also paid 'ole soul 2 times, and he has yet to refund my money, going on 2 1/2 weeks. He's in Canada, and that doesn't help things. PayPal has done nothing and I'm sure they won't. I hope this helps some other member. Please keep that name in mind, and check out any other "rare cart" sellers previous ID's, as this guy has changed his about 3 times.

When you do get a game up and running correctly you can use the "save state" and then have an image that you just autoboot. Someone spent a lot of quality time on Atari800Win.

Lemmi, I can really see your point. I've been scammed twice on Ebay [(you'd think once was enough !!!); well, really the second time on PalPay when they double charged me for the same item; international seller, PalPay won't do anything]. Although I have better things to do, I would like to let others know who these scammers are so no one else gets ripped off. You should read the messages on some of the forums on Ebay; they really get into bashing Ebay for not enforcing many of their own rules; just as long as they're making money.

I like Jawbreaker (John Harris original) and Jr Pac-Man. Just stay tuned to the board and you'll pick up on a lot of info regarding different games. Good luck.
-
Thank you for the info. I do need to get a new scanner as mine started making a big red mark down the center of the image. Although my carts are just like those pictured, I'll go ahead and scan them so there's no mistaking anything. Thanks again.
