I probably should sleep it off, but... I've got 2 sprites, in call magnify(3) mode. That, theoretically means that each sprite is 16 pixels high, right? Well, I have sprite #28 at row 1 and sprite #2 at row 17. I checked and rechecked with a call position... The #28 is stationary and the #2 moves horizontally. Call Coinc(ALL, A) is noticing a collision between these 2. I just don't get it. Now, everyone tell me how stoopid I am.

Anyone else get the issue where the keyboard gets stuck (with some key pressed)? Happens to me a lot... Any way to reset the keyboard w/o bouncing Classic99? Thanks - Howie

SSGC Submission - Inaccurate Invaders (now with less inaccuracy)
unhuman replied to unhuman's topic in TI-99/4A Development
Updated the binary at top to make it less inaccurate. Of course it reset my download count. Sad. Off to update the official entry thread. -
Yeah. E/5 option can (usually) be loaded by XB in some way. E/A 3 though requires knowing the name. I agree - a self-contained management system for the CF7+ where you could easily find the disk you want, swap it, and then run what you want quickly would be awesome. Somehow, I expect it to wind up that I have to keep my laptop opened at all times. -H
-
Dunno - bit IIRC legends was 2 or 3 disks - at 92k each. So, really, you could probably do pretty well. -H So you could probably get most of the TI library onto a 32MB card? That is unless some of the bigger disk games (like Legends I/II) take up more space. Tempest
-
By rough calculations - 32MB = 16MB. That disk is roughly 400k. So 40.

1.6 is a bad thing? Sure, it's not as great an upgrade from 1.4 -> 1.5, but... it's good. And I'm really looking forward to some of the updates in 1.7.
-
Ditto. I'm hopefully going to get to testing out my CF7+ this weekend if I can get some serious time. -H I think 1600 sectors is the biggest. There's still a little room on that image, but not much. I'm going to work on seeing if I can pack more modules onto some 'mega' disks for the CF7 Bless you kind sir! Tempest

Awesome, thanks.... Is there a size limitation on dsk files? I mean wouldn't it just be ridiculously great to have 1 HUGE disk?

Compact Flash Drive for TI 99/4A available on Ebay
unhuman replied to InfernalKeith's topic in TI-99/4A Development
Should be easy to find. I have a huge stockpile of AC adapters - never throw them out. Found some 9V ones from a dead cordless phone that (should) work when I finally get a day to try it out. BTW - I got away from wife trouble on this one. I bought mine on Valentine's Day Eve... She was "what did you just buy?" I was like "don't wanna tell you." She said "Happy Valentine's Day." So, I got what I wanted and didn't get in trouble. Talk about perfect presents! -H -
Thanks man, you've really inspired some great activity for this - I can speak that it dragged me back in to developing for the TI again. I'm still amazed at how much you can do with so little. Unfortunately, my next submission which I was hoping would suck didn't suck enough, yet is too long for this competition... So, I think you all can expect a free-bee from me in a week or so. Back to crap-game... I don't think anyone could possibly beat the "press the button before the computer does" game. I mean, c'mon, how could you possibly suck more? -H
-
Yeah - you got me... Although I'm of the mindset that all TI (Extended)? Basic games pretty much suck - it's just a relative scale of what sucks less. -H Wow ! 31 lines of crap huh.....
-
My next game is soooo good it can't fit in 30 lines.
-
Well dammit. I woke up with a new idea to de-crapify the game. So I might do that. I wish I were this fast when I was a kid, because I'd've been crankin 'em out. Anyhow, my new game has probably the best death sequence of any game I've ever seen. And I'm not just saying that. Unfortunately, however, I'm not a music-man and I can't get the music (which plays in-game, btw) to sound right.
-
Well, I started implementation of my game... One of the features of my game isn't really working out like I expected... Holy crap is it terrible! So, I guess that's good. Game almost done... Would qualify for the SSGC and Crap all in one... Need to tighten up my data for SSGC compatibility.
-
Actually - yeah - wanna know if this is still going on. I have a great idea for a crap game. Prolly would work better as crap than real... We want in! Is it open?
-
Ok - I had another idea for a game - and I don't know if I could get it completed in time, but... are we limited to 1 entry or multiples? Of course I don't know if I could get the beastie done in 30 lines... -H

I got a CF7 type thing from ebay - came with a 32 MB card... There a good quick way to populate this thing? I'd certainly rather spend my time playing with rather than figuring out / setting up Thanks for any tips! Howie

Can you pop black keycaps and put 'em on grey keyboards? Or they just fundamentally different? I might wind up going the other route. One of my TIs will power up but keyboard is TOTALLY dead. Other one is just dead. Don't remember which one is bad vs. which one is just keyboard-bad.
-
C'mon guys, don't be so hard on Marc... His mama so ugly she had to get him drunk before she could breast-feed him.
-
Beige keyboards work fine in black TI's, btw.

U got my sloppy seconds...

I wrote a UI for MESS to simplify playing games... It was called TI Mess or something like that. I put it up on 99er.net.... I can dig it up - haven't used it in eons. Found it! TI99MessUpdate.zip
