  4. i have 248 2600 carts, all different, no doubles

  7. but they ain't atari arts anymore ... their ideas revolution. ya gotta be fast to stay on top of this thread.
  8. there's been a plenty-o-technical advice so i thought i'd offer up marketing data: personally, i'm not interested in any new 2600 game. however, 20 years from now, i might be in a thrift store looking for the IR holy grail. or posting on this board looking for the lost IR dumping ground. good luck.
  9. i'd say the value is based on where you sell it. if it's a yard sale item, i'd be suprised if you got $2 for it. if it's on e-bay and you can prove that someone once played quadrun on it, you might get $3 - $300 for it.
  10. i'm not sure i understand. do you need permission from atari to make games for the 2600? i wrote a program on my dell, do i need permission from dell? intel? now that i think about it, did atari give activision permission to make awesome 2600 games. if they did, that was dumb. i don't recall idea revolution claiming to put the atari logo on anything they make.

I think it's fascinating hearing what others think about 2600 games etc., and the Off-Topic subjects, for the most part, could be on ANY site. CF but it's the atari community off topic subject. it's what atari nuts have on their minds other than atari. no big whoop. so, what 2600 topic is on your mind then?

    smurfs

    I submitted this info to the Tips, Tricks and Cheats of the rarity guide for smurf's save the day. There is an undocumented feature that allows you to play w/o the Kid Vid module. To activate it, start the game with the TV Type switch to Color, push DOWN (on the left joystick), move the TV Type switch to B&W, hold down SELECT and push UP. The difficulty switch settings determine which game appears: Greedy Smurf – both on B; Harmony Smurf – Left on A, Right on B; Handy Smurf – Left on B, right on A. Having both switches on A allows you to reset the game. {Thomas Jentzsch}

    smurfs

    Could this be added to the tips/cheats of the rarity guide so this doesn't get lost when the thread dies?
  15. now just hold on one cotton pickin minute ... first, this is a relatively cheap hobby unless you use evil-bay. flea malls sell games at $1 cart. hell, i'm a cheap bastard so that's what got me collecting. second, if people are giving you carts, yer missin all the fun. you gotta go to yard sales and thrift stores for the treasure hunt. it's the thrill of the hunt! then, you git to brag about it on this board. so, start memorizing the rarity guide, practice yer poker face and teach yer dog to sniff out carts.

  18. room34, you are the gary larson of 2600. thought about making 365 more and making a calendar for us 2600 freaks? i'd buy it for $1 at a flea mall.
  19. Sniderman is the greatest of all time. Hence forth, be it known, the person of Sniderman shall be known as "the greatest". In tesimony, this day 2 June 2002, it shall be known Sniderman holds the greatest title and all it forthcoming honors and recognition. NOW GIMME MY QUADRUN AND WATERWORLD, PUNK
  20. it's adventure time. does anyone else have have to collect every damn thing your little square can hold and put it in the gold castle before you bring in the chalice. that includes the magic dot and the tractor. hell, sometimes i make the bat bring in dead dragons. and then you smile at the mad flash show. is it just me or am i the only compusive-insane-redneck-atari-geek here?
  21. i just bought 3 2600 Xonox carts. 1 cart (both ends) runs fine. i have 2 other double enders (robin hood/sir lance and ghost/spike) that both ends of the cart, the picture rolls. the sound appears to be OK. i cleaned all 4 ends. it looks like a sync problem which makes me wonder if these are PAL carts. Is there any way to test? any ideas other ideas?
  22. quote: Originally posted by Thomas Jentzsch: Now the NASA is starting to ask for a manned Mars program, again without any good reason. Bringing people to different planets now is a waste of resources. Roboters can do everything humans could do much cheaper and more efficient. But roboters can not become american heroes, so I'm afraid they will waste that money. Perhaps Hollywood should sponsor that. Actually, NASA didn't ask for a manned mission to Mars. It was mandated by George Bush, Sr to put a man on Mars by 2020. As far as robots, there are many in NASA who have the same belief: send robots. This was a battle between our former administrator and robotics engineers.
