If you want to quantify yer Atari geekyness, take the scientific quiz: True/False: You have made a fake ID to buy Msytique games. You hacked haunted house and changed the eyes to boobs. You were really turned on by the haunted house boob hack. You know that if you kill the green dragon in the red room of the black castle and the magnet and black key are in the room and you touch the dead green dragon with the magic dot, he'll turn black. You just spent the last 15 minutes proving that last statement was complete bullshit. Yes, I'm home sick and damn bored.

1. ET is one of the most common games out there. And there's even more buried somewhere? This doesn't make sense. I'm a hard core skeptic. 2. For NASA budget and mission details, see: http://w3.access.gpo.gov/usbudget/fy2003/pdf/bud27.pdf

I am a NASA engineer. I have worked at NASA Langley for over 10 years. I do flight testing and not space, but the process is similar. By process, I mean the forming and managing of projects. I am very familiar with the polictics and process inside the government. I can assure you that in no way could NASA put man (or woman) on the moon For the humor impaired, that was a joke so don't forward to 60minutes.com.

I tried the VCR trick but no dice. I even have one of those old VCRs with manual tuning and I couldn't get it to work. Were there any PAL versions of Xonox carts made?

Ok den ... what is the cart between combat and video olympics (see below)? http://page.auctions.shopping.yahoo.com/au...1?&aucview=0x23 -
The guy with the Atari stuff in his basement wasn't named Buffalo Bill was he? "It puts the combat cart in the basket"

I'm running in my 2600. I've tried both the original wood grain and the atari jr consoles.

In Hampton Roads, there used to be 2 places on Jefferson Ave that sold Atari games. This was a few years ago and haven't been in awhile. At the time, all games were $1. The 2 places are within a mile of each other. The first is called "King Flea" and a little farther down is "The Flea Market". For exact directions, go to http://www.searchbug.com and search on flea malls. It will return addresses of various places. Those 2 places supplied about 99% of my 200+ collection.

Yeah, I tried cleaning and it didn't help. What has me suspicious is that I have 2 carts (4 actually) all with the exact same symptoms. Sound is fine but picture rolls. Like there is a syncing problem.
-
I have aquired 2 Xonox carts that come up with a picture but the picture rolls. My instinct is to adjust the vertical control but modern TVs don't have such dials. Any ideas on what's wrong? In my 300+ carts I have had, these are the first 2 that don't work.
-
there's 5? i have picture, text and "01 text". what are the other 2? i thought i was fairly certain i have seen every combat cart ever created. combat is like the tribble of carts.

$700 bucks for a cart and it didn't sell? I started collecting about 6 years ago because the games at the local flea market were a $1. Now I could buy all those carts that I couldn't afford as a 6th grader. I guess its cool that my collection can put my kids through college but I traded my kids away for a chase the chuckwagon.

I bid ... 1 million dollars

I know of 2 classified places on the Peninsula of Hampton Roads. You tell yours, I'll tell mine And sorry to inform you that I wiped out KB Toys in Lynnhaven a few years ago.

... Never wear Activision patches when a Veitnam Veteran is
Trey replied to Opa Opa's topic in Atari 2600
UNCLE! You win. Wearing Activision patches is really cool. Me and the commie, a-hole Vet are going to the P Diddy concert wearing our "New Kids on the Block" T-shirts. Don't worry about us. I've printed out this thread so I can convince all those ingnorant, geeks about the 1st amendment. Thanks everyone for saving me! -

I don't believe the Vet said you don't have the right to wear your patches. I wouldn't call his comment badgering. I don't see anywhere that he wanted to fight. The Vet made an observation and I agree with it. BTW, I'm writing this in my sport coat made from hundreds of combat carts. Any you cyber punks make fun of me, I have the ALCU on you faster than you can find the easter egg in Adventure. -

Sorry, cool dudes ... just my opinion. I agree with the Vet. -

Maybe he was thinking the same as me ... What in the wide, wide world of sports are you doing wearing Activision patches in the year 2002? Are you trying to impress 30 year olds that you kick ass at Pitall! Please retire your patches to your collection (where it belongs) before you get you butt kicked by the Xbox gang. I'm finding it really hard to imagine a snazzy come back from someone wearing Activision patches. -

Back in the day before ebay, you actually had to go out to yard sales, flea malls, thrift stores with VCG list in hand ... and then that nice spring day you spot a box with joysticks hanging out, and river raid II, and smurfs save the day in the box, and what's this ... a glib? Oh praise ye o holy atari gods. A holy grail ... and the price tag says $4. Must not jump. Calmly get wallet ... What was I talking about? ... oh yeah, ebay collecting sucks.

Sure, anyone can lay out $100 on ebay and get a water world, tooth protectors, or whatever holy grail cart. But if you'd paid $0.50 at a yard sale for waterworld, that would be impressive. OK, I'm jealous.
