What will become of your collection after you pass away?
Trey replied to Sincity's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
my wife informs me that i shall be buried face down with a random cart up my ass. -
I'm just wondering why you keep giving him links for Gameboy Advanced when he asked about the Color. I do have a question, since I have a Color too, if I buy a Gameboy advance can I use the GBA flashcard to load original gameboy and gbc games as well as GBA? it was just one link. gbadev has a forum on flash equip. you could post a question there about gbc flash.

i got the easy flash ii, 128 mbit along time ago. i don't think it is compatible with gb color. another good site to check out is: http://www.gbadev.org/

Motion sickness..........1st person games & GTA IV
Trey replied to cimerians's topic in Microsoft Xbox 360
you are experiencing simulator sickness, assuming you aren't wearing a vr type helmet. it is common among pilots who come off of flying planes and are put in a simulator esp when there is no motion. basically, you are seeing motion but you aren't feeling it. it can also be caused by a lag from your inputs into the game and a lag in rendering the scene itself. as your brain gets confused, you get nauseous, eye strain, fatigue, sweat and a whole host of symptoms. smaller screens would probably be the biggest help other than stop playing. ginger is known to help. i have heard others use the shocking wrist bands with success. when they come out with collimated, autostereo, wide screen lcds, people will be puking there guts out. -
let this thread die so we can perform a religious ceremony and bury it in the p&r forum (witch does not exist). for all you believers in the p&r, do your research, sheep.

i like the microsoft visual studio the best. i have the pro version and not sure how the free express version compares. for books, i prefer the herb schildt series.

it would be nice if AA had a profile feature that let you enter in your collection info. then again, if my wife sees how much crap i have, then i may have to house clean.

oh the memories. maybe we need to bump old pirate threads, catch up with stanjr posts, atari joe isn't real. ... maybe not. long live pitfall hairy. (i still haven't washed my autographed boob)

fellow members, it has come to my attention that a picture of inky has surfaced where he is wearing a turban. also, he doesn't put his hand over his heart during the pledge of allegiance. i know he is a ghost and doesn't have arms but he has the right to bear them.

pac-man sucks. set me and my cousin back $39.95 back in the day. that's like a $1 million dollars today. nay i say. i would reconsider for a bribe of perhaps $20 or more.

need advice for buying a laptop w/gaming in mind
Trey replied to Warriorisabouttodie's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I realize I would need to add some more money to my check, but starting off with almost a 1000 dollars makes it a lot easier to justify the expense. The Alienware notebooks are great but they start at 1700 dollars which is out of my price range. you need this: http://www.pcmicroworks.com/blackhawk.htm -
critical software systems undergo extreme scrutiny. even then, things happen. like when a f-22 crossed the international date line, the computer went into an infinite loop. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1791574/posts

Wiimote as a head tracker -- who's gonna hook this up to the Jaguar?
Trey replied to else's topic in Atari Jaguar
the demo in the video is static. with a dynamic scene, the total system latency will dominate its effectiveness. the sensor has to detect the head, process the data, transmit the solution, the computer reads the data, and incorporates the data in the current computation frame, computes the graphics from the model solution and pushes the data to the display device. right now, there is no good, cheap head tracker out there for virtual reality games. -
my flash lets you rip gba games as well as load home brews.
-
why pm? if you post the link, then others searching later can benefit.
-
this site: http://www.gbadev.org/ has over 500 home brew games/demos that you can download.

Anyone pick up Atari Advance for PSP?
Trey replied to tiggerthehun's topic in Modern Console Discussion
i picked this up and it will be awhile before i unlock the 2600 games. ugh, other than lunar lander, the learning curve on the controls is high. simply a limitation of a psp. i basically just go nuts on tempest. like others have said, if it ain't a knob, tempest is very frustrating. -
i got a small flash cart awhile ago from here: http://www.jandaman.com/ i basically got this: http://www.jandaman.com/games.mvc?p=gbaezf..._code=GBADEVKIT it works well and i have had no problems with it. apparently, it is made in china as the translated user guide was very amusing. i used it to test the games i developed for the gba several years ago.

Quadrun hidden in this lot! Item number: 120203451977
Trey replied to Phantom's topic in Auction Central
hey, all is fair in love and ebay. atari collecting is war and you should pull out all the stops. i wish i'd a thought of it. however, i would have gone the whole "different strokes" episode and pretended i was dying. you'd get a quadrun and maybe even mr. t as well. -

Trey replied to Phantom's topic in Auction Central
Good. It's not like I need anymore evidence that people are total shitheads, but stuff like that doesn't help. maybe if the nephew was dying and could only be cured by an atari's warm radiation. -
one of the inherent problems with head trackers is latency. the scene in his demo is static. i wonder how it looks with a dynamic scene.
