I got word that the auctions on the CX-2000 and the 5200 went to a second chance offer. I believe it had to do with the winning bidder being from way out of town.

-
The only way to know for sure if it is just an eprom or a mask rom is to open it up and take a picture of the chip inside.

-
He won both. Almost $10,000!!!!!!!!!!Allan
I'll believe the money when I see it. haha
Hopefully you'll get it.
Welcome to AtariAge.
Care to tell any stories or info that your Grandfather told you about working at Atari? Many of us would be interested.
Allan
You know I don't really have any yet, but because of all this, I'm going to have to talk to him about it.
It's funny really, my father almost threw all this stuff away, and I am sure glad I rescued it when I did.
The more I learn about it, the more interesting it becomes. Honestly though I had no idea that I was going
to make this much money on it. I gather, however, that you guys are just as surprised as I am.
Anyways, I'll keep ya'll updated. I am only 1/3 the way through this stuff. *whew*
Cool. You should try to unload the goodies here on AA first in the Marketplace. eBay fees are a pain.

-
I think it might be one of our European friends. Anyone recognize?

-
-
No takers yet?
I'd say there is probably 300 peeps watchin this thing.

-
Yeah. They have had BBSB up for over two years. I think they use it as a marketing ploy anyway. Items they don't intend to get rid of they price really high to bring business in. With this cat though, everything is high and you are right. They don't haggle.

I hate it when a few words are taken out of context. Flame threads. That's all this thread is. Management always has a way of twisting the truth anyway. Original ideas are taken fom small children anyways. It's hard telling how many young kids sent drawings, requests, and things of that nature that inspired all of the console and games ideas. Ultimately the power goes to the wonderful minds of the children who inspire thier parents to either give them the idea or inspire them to come up with these ingenious ideas. (Referring to the employees). I just happened to be one of those kids who mailed in ideas so I am speaking up for those guys who did the same!! Where's my cut?

-
Well there WAS a chance it was going to go cheap.
True. Just be sure to post eBay auctions in Auction Central. I know I'm misplaced but I don't think there is a fix for that.

Got a message back from the seller about the 5200.
You know I have looked this unit all over and I have not seen anything that would resemble a serial number.
Given the circumstances and history of this unit, I would not be surprised if it wasn't issued one.

Could just be an empty shell. Don't know.

I need to get this item....one of the few Atari 2600 protos I DO NOT have....
Really?
My Only Question is, is this proto worth 5K? I thought for sure I saw one last year sell for right at 3K. Or was it $2500?

-
The 5200 looks interesting as well. As far as I can see it has no logo on the face plate. That is right. Looks as if it might be the early 4 port model. I'll see if he can post a pic of the serial # sticker on the bottom.

Cool. . . Um, what is it?Here's some info about Val.

I prefer the Lynx I. I have pretty bad hearing and Model I has a better picture. "Eh. What did you say?"

-
I'm in! Please mass PM me when ready!

-
If it stays at that price, $1, I'll bid on it.
Shark Attack sucks anyways.

-
Bump!

-
darn... I thought you were going to smash it. LOLI actually need a boxed Lynx I. I'm just waiting for a bit to get it though.
Well, just let me know something. We can work out something.

Very awesome job. What sort of blade? Just an exacto, dremil, or something like that. Wow... one slip and that NES is toast.AX
Draw it on, then Dremel most. With the thickness of the case it would take alot of patience with an exacto knife. I try this stuff. It's pain staking work. Very nice job!

Too many people don't take sealed or CIB for face value. Don't see many sealed Absolute games period.
