  1. My parents were from Poland and had kids later in life. My mom maybe tried it a few times and didn't care for it and my dad thought it was a waste of time and would damage the TV.

Funny enough years later, my mom loved Hoyle Casino on my Dreamcast

    I did have an "uncle-in-law" that bought a 5200 and a Vectrex

  2. Well of course, but it's not 1977 anymore. Once you get something like Toyshop Trouble or Medieval Mayhem, going backwards seems silly. But hey, no one's putting a gun to anyone's head. And once in a while, something decent comes along, so keep at it, who am I to tell anyone what to do.

  3. And the beginner-grade useless batari Basic games are equal to if not surpass many commercial releases for the Atari 2600.

OK I really don't care what people spend their money on but exactly which games are you talking about. Most bB games I've seen are one sprite chasing another sprite around a blocky playfield and that's passed off as a "game"

There are some exceptions but I think in general it's hurt the scene more than it's helped.

What games would you consider "better" than a commercial release?

One of the new Donkey Kongs was bB right? That's pretty slick. Seaweed Assault is kinda fun. That Snowfall game was pretty good.

    What else?

  4. Agreed. But in Enduro the slower cars frequently change track, which doesn't happen in LeMans. Because when it happens it often causes severe crashes.

And they also explode out of the horizon. Pole Position seems to have it right where you can see a car in the distance and have time to react

  5. Seen this happen years ago with a Dance music Cd called "Dance Godzilla" This dude put his heart and sole into it.. Sampled the films to death.. was a great fan piece.. but toho lawyers threatened to sue his ass into the ground.. Besides preorders.. i don't think it ever hit the market... You should have HUNGRY SHARK eat some Lawyers...

I actually own that Dance Godzilla CD! By some dude called "Atom" Found it in an anime store ages ago.

  6. It is called Enduro after all. There's a wide speed disparity in real-life endurance races as well.

Just think of it as you're driving a prototype stuck among a bunch of slower GT cars.

Well Atari games do require a bit of imagination. I guess I could lay off the pedal a bit but whoever goes less than top speed when playing? I'm gonna have to do some racing today.

  7. I still play them and Enduro esp. with the seasons is a lot of fun, I just sometimes wish the cars didn't come shooting out of the distance like they were standing still. I mean in Enduro you have to pass like 100 cars. Are they all just driving 25MPH and texting? :P

  8. I agree(slamming into Granny Drivers). I love (or want to love) racing games (Pole Position, etc.), but it is almost impossible NOT to slam your fellow Grannies in the rear (or slide off the track into a sign). But, we keep coming back for more.

Well Grand Prix just looks so damn nice with those giant cars

  9. Just a little rant here. I know they're not realistic but what always drives me crazy is how the other cars are apparently going 25 MPH. Look at something like Grand Prix, you're always slamming into the back of these granny drivers. Would be nice if a game existed where the other cars were just slightly slower so you could overtake them or steer around them instead of them just suddenly flying onto the screen. End of rant,

  10. A game like Super Bag Boy sounds cool... Reminds me of something unique like Lost Luggage.

Thinking along the lines of something I've never seen, a Burgertime variant BITD could have been Pancake or Pancake Flipper. With fruit, ham, sausage, whipped cream and chocolate chips as baddies.

Or how about a gas pumping game... see how many cars you can get back on the road before they crash into each other at the station. Could have been a Tapper clone of sorts.

Someone should hack the 7800 Beef Drop to Pancake Stacker or Flackjack! Instead of fries as a bonus you have syrup and instead of pepper it's powdered sugar :D

  11. Yeah but what about exposure man??

How would we know if its a nonworking sound file or just some other ramblings.

But yes I am interested in hearing what U did. Are you like Buckethead type of stuff going on or what?

I know my reply probably came across as dickish but it *mostly* wasn't meant that way. I *am* interested in hearing weird Atari related music but not a new thread for EVERY new piece. Besides when you reply to a thread it bubbles it up to the top, so if you're even half paying attention you know there's something new to check out in that thread. But by all means, keep on bleepin' and bloopin'!
