It's funny because I had some people over yesterday and they were like "ooh, you have an Atari...."
And the games that got the most mileage were Berzerk, Defender, Tennis, Moon Patrol, Ice Hockey, Ms Pac Man an a lot of other commons / old favorites

Wasn't someone working on a 2600 Beach Head? Thought I saw a title screen at some point in the past.
How about 2600 Space Channel 5 or better yet Dance Dance Revolution. The latter probably wouldn't work because you have to sync the arrows to the beats in the song.
A ton of C= 64 games could potentially make good 2600 conversions
How about Archon?

It's the 2600 version of Millipede but I use my 7800 since it can play both 78/26 titles
And I considered emulators but the controllers on the real thing are much better than a gamepad thing
I guess I could poke through the source code. I know a little bit, perhaps enough to find what I'm looking for.
Or maybe I get a 12 pack and not leave the house this weekend, just playing millipede till my eyes bleed and I'm cursing at imaginary spiders, scaring the neighbors

-
Lemme add Imagic's Dracula that was released for INTV. I loved that game for some reason.
-
Thanks. I turned it off. Oh well.
-
Within reason of course. So no Unreal Tournament or MLB 2006 nonsense.
Me, I would like a 3-D Bowling game.
Shouldn't be too bad right?
One player, one ball, some pins, a 3-D effect like Enduro or Pole Position for the playfield
It could be technically possible right?
-
It's actually a 7800 and I don't wanna turn it off because I wanna be able to start at the upper levels of millipede. I'm on my "How many spiders can you have?" quest and currently at 125,000 point starting level
So unless some source code whiz can tell me, I figure I'll try and find out the hard way.
-
No love for Fishing Derby? You're sorta playing underwater. And it's a fun little two player game.
-
Gotta say, it's one hell of a game. Does anything else on the 2600 come close to that frantic pace?
Yar's Revenge is pretty crazy at the higher levels mostly because of the pulsing music which hypnotizes you but there's lots of hiding and waiting as opposed to running for your life like in Millipede.
-
Anyone know? Been playing it a lot lately and curious if there's a set limit.
For some reason I think I got 6 way back when but that seems too high.
Perhaps 4?
-
Oh I found Super Football behind the box of games I keep my "playable" games in.
I'm sure you guys were dying to know that

-
Pretty boring weekend so i went through some boxes and logged what games I have. I think this is all of them though there may be a few more in some boxes somewhere that I never bothered with. I know I have a whole mess of controllers somewhere and there may be some odd games buried in that one. Anyway, anything remotely interesting or valuable here? Not that I'm planning on selling anything, just curious.
Also, are all Grand Prix carts the "International Edition" ?

I'm a fan of pro wrestling. I don't know the meaning of the word "shame."Still? I like my wrestling like I like my video games, pre-1984.

This may have been done before and if so please point me to the thread but how many games NEED special controllers to play them?
I was going through my collection today and realised I don't know where my Indy 500 driving controllers went and that I don't have a booster grip for Omega Race
Obviously carts like Star Raiders, Basic Programming and the Children's Workshop games need the keypad (was it the same one for all of them?)
But can you get away with playing SOME of them with just the stick or perhaps substituting the 2 button 7800 stick for something like Omega Race
It was mentioned in another thread that Stargate works with the keypad, presumably letting you do Hyperspace and Smart Bombs with it instead of the second stick. Is this true as well?
-
Sometimes people don't what they have.
I got Summer Games and Winter Games for .50 each. And a whole box of joysticks and paddles for $1
The guys was like, I don't even know what that stuff was.
Then there are the guys that know this stuff is collectable and try to overprice you
-
Which was based on the Bally/Midway arcade game
- CBS: Kickman - wonder if that was gonna be the same as the C64 game of the same name? -
I think the Masters Of The Universe screen is pretty decent. He-Man is actually drawn quite well. Pretty hi-res looking for a 2600 game
-
Has anyone tried it?
Would it even be possible?
-
Well, I guess I miss Crystal Castles and haven't run across one in a while. Dunno if it's all THAT rare.
As far as other systems, I was smart enough to keep my Vectrex, light pen, 3D goggles and all of the games. Been holding onto it since 8th grade.
-
Not sure how old the majority of people on this list are but for the old fogies, do you still have your system and games from when you were a kid or did they get sold / given away like most of my stuff did?
When I got a 7800, my mom gave my 2600 and a bunch of games to my young cousin. Then HE eventually gave them away or something, either way I lost a mess of games including some rare and obscure stuff like Track and Field and Crystal Castles.
What a shame.
-
Sounds like a bad rom. I have two different ones and one resets like you said and one goes to the next stage correctly.
-
RealSports Driving?
Anyone know ANYTHING about that one?
Or Kickman?
That one seemed do-able even on the 2600
-
I know, I sorta meant to imply that in the original post.
-
I recently ordered my first two as well. Fall Down and Thrust
Fall Down is awesome. So simple and so addictive.
Thrust is kicking my ass, I haven't got the hang of it but I was finally able to get ONE of the pod thingies without crashing into the planet.
Progress

What's the most I should pay for mario bros?

2600 and/or 7800 version.
I'm all about the simultaneous two play games these days and need to re-add this one to my collection.
Thanks for giving that one away mom!
