  1. Was this an unlicensed game? They call Michael Myers, "Him" and "He" on the box and in the manual. Couldn't get away with that today
  2. MotoCross Racer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owFNJuZKBv8 MotoCross Stunt Cycle
  3. Kinda what I figured. Oh well, I'll stick to Stella until I can get a cart. Now, if someone wants to tell me how to trigger the Easter Eggs.....
  4. Sorry if this has been asked but will this work on a CC2? Or does it have the same problem Pitfall II has? If it DOES work, what is the bankswitching option I need to use?
  5. cool, nice to see this old thread resurrected. I usually keep a print out in case people come over
  6. Food Fight, Galaga and Xevious if only because they didn't have 2600 counterparts like a lot of the other 7800 games.
  7. Also, MAME is pretty easy to set up, especially if you use something like the MAME Classic front end. A lot easier than MESS and all those bios files
  8. I play MAME standing up with a wonky controller in near darkness to simulate the arcade experience
  9. That's because no released Atari game uses the trakball in trakball mode (where the faster you spin the ball the faster your guy moves) They work in joystick mode. There's a switch on the TB to switch modes. The hacks make them work in TB mode. Totally awesome if you have a multicart of some kind and can get them to work on the real hardware.
  10. BTW Mr. Do must have his roller skates and jet pack on in the C= 64 version. He sure flies around at the speed of light!
  11. And can you maybe create ONE thread and update it instead of a new one every time you post a track?
  12. I'm sure it happened more often than not.
  13. Everything's better with booze and drugs! Seriously, this is a tough game in the arcade and the 2600 adds a few wrinkles. Practice makes perfect though. I'm consistently hitting the 4th castle now I think most people just suck at this game and write it off as terrible when if you give it some love and practice a bit you'll see it's not so bad. RTFM and PRACTICE!
  14. Stella with the "bad adjust" video option and a USB Atari stick or the Stelladapter with a real 2600 stick is pretty much indistinguishable from the real thing. The Flashback is a waste of money. Especially for a newbie. Avoid using the keyboard or some Sega controller nonsense and you might as well be playing on real hardware. Emulation at this point is pretty spot on unless you're still running some sort of 386SX. Also, isn't the FB essentially an emulator?
  15. Duh. I thought MESSUI was included but it's a separate build. Never mind.
  16. I don't get the Pokey obsession. I think the only 7800 game where sound is grating is Donkey Kong. But I just turn it down anyway and usually have some music going. How many games used a Pokey anyway? Ballblazer (which I think is a nice tech demo and a terrible game so I never play it) and Commando?
  17. Get the 2600 adapter and you can play those games too! I love my 4 port 5200 and AtariMax cart I bought the "gold" controllers from Best and they work like a charm. Anyone know if they STAY that way or eventually break down? Admittedly my 5200 has collected some dust in the past few months.
  18. I use two 2600 sticks with a few rubberbands holding them together. That's one I have to play with the controls on a table or on the floor. But totally worth the aggravation once you find a scenario that works for you. It does make the game way more fun. And using one stick makes it impossible to get very far anyway.
  19. What is Stacker? I think I missed that one. Never mind. Found it.
  20. The proto is interesting but I usually just play the released one. When you have 6 spiders bouncing around it gets crazy.
