  1. Of course, but if we told someone NOW (Oct 12) that we wanted a Pac-Man release in time for Christmas, how good would it be? It's not really fair to use a home brew as a comparison. They don't have the marketing and sales depts. on their ass all day.
  2. Coleco probably sold more 2600 DK carts than CV systems. And no company would waste that much money on R&D, engineering and manufacturing to intentionally release a bad game. There's no guarantee that it would result in more system sales. The problem was a 4K limit which doomed it like it doomed VCS Pac-Man
  3. They even say in the manual that you should line up Do's foot in the space between the blocks when you try to knock them out. So obviously it was a known issue in testing.
  4. I spent some time with MDC tonight. It's not as horrible as I remember. If they patched up kicking ladders and knocking out blocks a bit, it would be pretty good. It's kinda frustrating but not unplayable. After some practice even that stuff became less annoying.
  5. Same here. One of my favorite games and hope it gets dumped at some point.
  6. Barnstorming is just Grand Prix with a plane and Sky Jinks is Skiing with a plane. They look nice though. But I never understood Activision's fascination with timed games. Did any other company make so many?
  7. Is it set to the right channel? There's a switch on the back that you can select channel 3 or 4. Or maybe 2 and 3. Forget exactly which one. Might be different depending on which country you're in. But it looks something like this http://yesterbits.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/cx2600-channel-select.jpg Might be worth checking out.
  8. Was the last DK Arcade update in APRIL?! What happened?
  9. The only thing wrong with Fire Fighter is that it's ridiculously easy. Looks nice, solid controls. But no challenge. It's essentially a kids game.
  10. Why can't I edit my initial post? Wanted to add the games I missed.
  11. That's why I didn't include it it in my list above but would include medieval mayhem. a port of an arcade port of a home game
  12. What was the arcade version again? There was a nagging doubt in the back of my mind as I passed by it, but I wasn't sure
  13. Yeah the Atari 2600 didn't have a disk drive, maybe you have a 2600 and some Atari computer parts but they're not the same. Pictures would help solve the mystery.
  14. Have we done this already? I probably started it myself a while back. Messing around with my CC2 and adding an ARCADE subfolder. Here's what I have. Probably missed some homebrews that aren't in the AA Rarity Guide. 15. I pretty much ignored Seaquest until it was a HSC game. Love it now. But I'm not looking at the spreadsheet. I like to figure things out for myself. It's like reading the "how to solve a rubik's cube" book. Ruins it.
  16. If you set the difficulty to "A" then you get the snake and the red balls. If you time it right, when Coily is about to jump on you, you can jump towards him and you'll pass through each other. Seen here
  17. Well, any of the board games like checkers, chess, othello. And two player only games. Also Raiders Of The Lost Ark and Adventure
  18. The thing that kills Q*bert for me is the jump through the snake trick. Makes it a bit too easy.
  19. Warlords is not a port, the arcade game came later Also, no love for Vanguard?
  20. That's how you know it's good. Because the arcade game was a pain in the ass too. I have a real love/hate relationship with this game because the enemy movements were designed by a sociopath

    Salvo

This game is awesome. Love frantic shooters
  22. There's a nice bit at 10 30 that goes on for a little while. Is that the Missile Command extra city sound? Then around 16:25 when it slowly builds and locks into a groove again, love it. So I think there's some nice stuff in there but overall it would give me a headache listening to a solid 20 minutes of it. I tend to prefer the groove instead of the random bleeps and bloops and fuzz. But hey, rock on. Just my worthless opinion
  23. Psoriasis Apprentice? Psoriasis is a skin disease, how does that relate to a bar?
