Not Eggsplode, eh? Then what am I thinking of?? All I can recall these days is that the lable had some kinda alien/chicken on it, and the object of the game is that said creature would toss eggs down at you...very much like Kaboom! ....??That would be Eggomania. I picked that one up at a flea market a couple of months ago. Pretty fun game.

I've beaten the Atari 2600 Ghostbusters many times. It's actually one of my favorite games for the Atari. Of course, I'm a HUGE Ghostbusters fan, so I guess I'm a little biased when it comes to it.
Using the ghost bait to stop Mr. Stay Puft isn't all that hard. When you're on the map screen and you notice your Ghostbuster logo freeze up and the roamers (ghosts) start to quickly move towards the Zuul building, you have to immediately flip the right difficulty switch.
Getting past the Marshmallow Man at the end is indeed tough. He jumps back and forth and you have to use perfect timing to get your Ghostbuster to run under him without him touching you. If you can get 2 busters past him, you get a screen of them standing in front of a buiding, crossing the streams.
Not as cool as the C64 ending of Ghostbusters but it sure beats the NES ending.

I got ahold of Gyruss not too long ago and was quite impressed by the music. Probably my favorite Atari 2600 music next to Pitfall II.

Chances are far and few in between. My best find in the wild was Malagai. $5. Maybe you will get lucky.
Malagai, eh? That's a pretty awesome find!
Yeah, luck really hasn't been my thing but I may find a Chainsaw cart for cheap in the wild someday....
... "Dog will hunt!"
The best I've done so far is finding an Atari Video Cube at the local thrift store for 99 cents, but your Malagai find really puts that one to shame, my friend.

I'd love to see you do something with Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Not enough Raiders 2600 videos up on YouTube. The world needs more of them.

Never had or played a NES but they are about the sames as Sega Master System right? If so then how about Ghostbusters?I'd have to say that after playing both recently, Ghostbusters (to me at least) looks waaaay better on the 2600 than it does on the NES. I also fnd the 2600 version to be much more fun to play.
Can't say the same for the Sega Master System version of Ghostbusters. That one reigns supreme.

You love him? you got problems, hes mean
!!Leather ain't mean.
He's just misunderstood.
Sure, he's been known to show the business end of a McCulloch 10-10S to the occasional teenage tresspasser, but honestly, who hasn't? Okay, maybe he was a little harsh. I'm sure he got what he deserved in at least one of the many sequels.
He did get off light in the game, though. All that brutal (Atari-style!) carnage and all he gets in the end is...
... a kick to the rump by one of the survivors. That's all. A kick to the butt. Where was the dude with the gun from the boxart? Couldn't he have shown up in the end and shot Leatherface down for committing such a heinous killing spree?
Why am I trying not to spoil the end-screen to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre for the Atari 2600?
It's TCM for the VCS! Not Soylent Green!
Which, incidentally, is people.

Anyone here ever find a copy of TCM out in the wild? Everytime I hit up the flea markets and thrift stores and see a small pile of 2600 carts, I pray that Chainsaw will be in that pile. It never is.
I think that finding The Texas Chainsaw Massacre at a flea market for 50 cents would make me the happiest geek in the land. Even if it is a horrible game... I love that Leatherface!

They were available in the online store earlier this morning. I got online and ordered one as soon as I woke up. Glad I did too, seeing as how they're all gone now.
