  1. As someone who recently got a Jaguar and who has been increasing his "collection" of games, I have been impressed with the system and think it is unfortunate that we don't see more homebrews for the system. Pyro, if you end up buying one, try to use it with at least the A/V cables and not the regular video game connector. The quality of the image is better (if you can use SuperVideo, even better).

I looked through a couple of different sites for game reviews and started by purchasing the games that had better ratings. You may want to do something like that. Atari Age has a list of the games for the system and there are links to reviews you can look at.

So, follow Ovalbugmann's advice and get a cheaper unboxed unit on e-bay and then take it from there.

  2. I completely agree that this is stupid...

you simply do not send a boxed item in the mail by using an envelope/bubblelope.

Loose carts... sure (that's how I get MOST of mine). But Boxed? Not a chance.

    My latest adventure on ebay:

    ME:

"Sir, I like this item, however for a single cart, I really find it hard to justify the $5.99 shipping cost. If I do buy this game, is it possible to give a discount on the shipping? For $5.99 I would expect a small box, padding, and del conf. In all reality, I know the item will only cost about $1.00 to mail off. If that. Please let me know"

    Dude on ebay:

Thanks for looking at the auction. If you look at all sellers on ebay, a single cart ships for about the same range as I charge. The reason we do this: We must cover our ebay auction listing fees, paypal fees, gas money to the post office, tape, etc. so I believe the cost of shipping is justified"

What do you say to that?! The guy just stated that he raises the cost of postage to make a profit.

I don't like that ebay allows this.

Ebay doesn't allow this if it is reported. You can simply report the item and specify it is for postage you're reporting it.

  3. Bubble envelopes are only appropriate for loose carts. CIB or new boxed games need to be sent in a box to protect them. I don't think Ax's request is unresonable nor will it add expense to the seller who can just use a Flat Rate Priority Mail box (which are free at any post office). I've had to deal with CIB and/or new boxed games that arrive crushed thanks to a seller who clearly had a remarkably low IQ, simply didn't care to provide good service, or had the common (uncommon?!) sense of a rock.
