  3. Hello, I have a spare 1040STE with Megafile 30 MB. Anyone interested, I am sure we will sort It out. If interested, I also have the SM124 monitor spare , Replay 8 bit sampler and may be a turbo arcade joystick. Take note, I live in Holland, I don't have a clue what shipping costs are to the US for example. regards, Marcel

  5. Keep one, sell 5 and you will never have to work anymore... Amazing, how did you get 6 falcons, and what did you use them for ? Even more amazing; you are from Holland too ! That makes you the 3th person in Holland I know who has a Falcon.
  6. Why am I a Jaguar Fan. My first contact with Atari was when I bought my ST for making music. I was so impressed with It that I couldn't believe that Atari never got bigger. Just became a fan of the brand. I also have the Falcon, the Lynx and of course couldn't resist the Jaguar. And although I had/have all the playstation consoles, the best memories I have is from my Jaguar gaming period. Long sensible soccer nights, AvP I till today never finished (but still want to, without walk througs) Doom link play, Fight for life. Although I prefer soccer and race games, there is a sort of 'feeling' with the jaguar games that modern games just don't have that makes me want to play them. BTW I also have the CD unit and a spare Jag. And I still use my ST and Falcon for making music. Bottomline; I love Atari, and secretly I think we all like the idea that they never got bigger than they are.
  7. For midi-sequencing a ST is fine, preferably with 4 Megs ram and a harddisk. You can even edit samples etc. If you want harddiscrecording, digital IO (with extra hardware) and seuencing in one package a Falcon is the way to go, although they are hard to find and a little expensive.
  8. I also used my ST for sample editing. I started with the Replay 16 hardware and the in the package included editor.prg, which worked very well with midi sample transfer. Nowadays I use my Falcon with zero-x to do the job, also with midi sample transfer, but I believe Zero-X also works on the ST. With the replay 16 it was possible to play the sample after editing, before sending It back to the sampler, I even used replay 16 to sample, than edit, and than send them to the sampler. With an STE with no extra hardware, I wonder If it’s possible to hear the sounds in 16-bit, or do you convert them to be played to the STE stereo output ?
  9. Trying to remember, as I also have the original. Still think it was the hacked version.
  10. Totally agree. I play It from hard disk on my Falcon, which is great.
  11. Callaghan, In fact, Zero-X has an option to send data through scsi, so I keep hoping. Mean while, I am going to try to connect a zip-drive to the sampler, and at the same time to the falcon. May be that will work ? Anyone connected a zip drive to the falcon and knows whether It can be seen by the Falcon and sampler at the same time ?
  12. Recently I bought a second hand Akai S3000XL sampler, to replace It for my Akai S01. Mainly because I sample on my falcon (Zero-X) and send the samples by midi to the S01, which is very time consuming. The S3000XL has a scsi 25 pins connector. I hope to be able to send the samples by scsi to the sampler, or in any other way that the 2 devices ‘see’ each other, but so far no luck. The Falcon sees the sampler (SCSI-6), but than It keeps hanging and doesn’t boot. The Akai doesn’t have an internal hard disk (yet). Is there anyone here with ideas what to do ?

  14. Thank you ! Appreciate it very much, will let you know how It turns out.
  15. A friend of mine bought a Falcon recently, with 4Mb. He is now looking for a memory upgrade (14Mb) like my Falcon (he wants to use Cubase Audio) but can't find It anywhere. Anyone a hint where to look ? Thanks, regards, Marcel
  16. I know you wasn't talking to me, but I live in the Netherlands !
  17. Thanx guys, Will give all of them a try. Daddy has found some interesting titles already...
  18. Thanks, Too bad the batteries have nothing to do with It, would be too simple and I never looked at It that way that It's the same case as the Mega. I will open the megafile this weekend, to see what may be wrong. Led's come on and It makes 'some' noise, but not as much as usual.
  19. Question; Does anyone know the function of the batteries for the Megafile Harddisks ? 1 megafile stopped working and I saw this battery compartiment which I didn't even remember It was there. Regards, Marcel
  20. Proud owner of a ST, STE, Falcon, Jaguar and Lynx I found this forum and I am pleased to see how 'alive' the community is . I am pleasantly surprised to see that most games of back in the days are ready to download. But there are so many, and a lot of the titles I don't even know. I have the intention to let my 4 year old play on the Atari, I think the joystick bach than is much more child friendly than todays console controllers. Can anyone recommend some games for the younger Atari players ? And maybe a few for daddy ? Regards, Marcel
