hello all, i received a lynx m1 today the left side of the display is a little dimmer than the right? regardless of the brightness setting? possible bad cap, etc? also, this model is different from my other model 1, the directional pad is a simple 4 way(think nes pad) and the acrion buttons are black. also shows heavy wear on the plastic revealing the white , yet the screen is near mint?possible real glass? sadly the seeial number sticker is gone.. any info would be aprreciated . thanks!

Thanks ,for the input guys, i cleaned and cleaned , but they still would not work.. soo. having some extra colecovision controllers laying around. i am wiring in the fire buttons from those. so far works great. and much better quality switch. good time to get rid of those pastel buttons i suppose hehe.

i think i figured out the prob, its the switches. if you bypass the switches, they work, so i suppose the components are fine. i will remove switches and attempt to repair them, probably corrosion.

it is an xegs, there isnt a connector to the top of the case , that i have saw, i have already taken it apart. i have not tried holding down option while starting up? it starts the built in missle command fine.

ok, received my xegs , fires up fine, keyboard , lightgun, all working fine. except for one issue. switch on the system that works is the power button,. the start, option reset etc. do nothing. is there a resistor or ic at fault? any info is greatly appreciated!

i read in an earlier post that the A.i was changed, so that the Pacman "hide" feature from the arcade worked. so do the original arcade patterns for pacman work as well?

Okay. Looks like original poster was thinking past 1985. yep correct. for me the xegs is nostalgic. i remember seeing them in christmas catalogs etc. they where never avaliable to try hands on around here. so, there's the nostalgia factor, it is the only atari computer i have any experiance with, ,and it is limited lol. and also, it was a great deal(as long as it works), i have traded for a power supply, and a few carts. i may get a disk drive later, but to me the sio2pc is good enough, with the last one i owned, i had the sio2sd and it was cool also,but for now i mainly want to focus on carts, and maybe make a repro or 2 along the way. thanks for all the opinions and ideas guys.
