  1. but wait, there is more. This device has it's own lcd screen and buttons you can use to switch atr's or images... so you don't have to learn / use any software. yeah i saw that! very cool, is there also an onscreen menu? im guessing not . either way very cool and simple!
  2. Actually, I think you're right on this one; I just spotted a SIO2SD on eBay right now for about US$63 with free shipping. Not bad. , so with this you just load the images onto an sd card and put the sd card into the sio2sd and thats it?seems like a more simple way of doin things.
  3. wish i still had a colecovision i would jump on it! consider any other trades?
  4. ahh i now see your in poland, well i will just keep my eyes open, ,thanks for the info on the ram upgrades!
  5. i see, well i want to have all options open i plan on a flash cart and sio2pc, ,so is there a good homebrew community?
  6. are there enough games to justify doin this? i know its been ask a million times, but really if i dont upgrade the ram , how many games will i not be able to play? i understand some will play anyway but maybe missing small things. if its only a few games its probably not for me. any info appreciated. im learning as i go!
  7. yeah me either, ,im gonna have to take it apart and check the solder joints on the rf lead. anyone know if it could be the pokey chip perhaps? i have a few spare parts boards i dont know which chip is pokey but i could try a swap out and see what happens, sucks because it one of the early ones thats all shiny and has manufactured in the u.s.a on it. its my fav.
  8. i have to agree with the others here, go with the nes pad , the 78 are indeed much much better than a proline , and i understand wanting to use original equipment. however i have one of each, and honestly the nes pads are waayyy better. and ax's do look like they are gonna be sharp, ,if i hadnt already made my own i would be all over them!
  9. Your XEGS has s-video out? All the ones I've seen have only composite video... Agree 100% on the suggestion that he should get a 2nd XEGS instead of trying to find just a keyboard for the one he's got. Most likely he can get a complete XEGS for cheaper than B&C sells the keyboard for. i think i will you guys advice and look for another complete one, i think you are right the price of the keyboard (unless i find a steal) is gonna be just as much as i could get another complete system or close to it anyway. . now who has an extra to trade me! im gonna post in the wanted section.
  10. great! good job man, im gonan try this before i try this first.
  11. Oh, you mean AUDIO volume... that makes more sense. I mean, the Atari 5200 has way more volume than any other Atari console, and I thought that everyone knew that..... :D I don't know - I've only ever had the one 5200, so I haven't noticed anything. I know the 2600 has a variable inductor you so you can change the audio tuning a bit - it's likely the 5200 has something similar. How much of a difference is there? -Ian LOL yeah AUDIO volume. yeah it has plenty of volume other wise for sure! its a pretty desernable difference enough say that with one of them with the tv at a comfortable volume. leave the volume setting the same, hook up the other one, using the same power supply and switch, and its almost inaudible.
  12. That question is one that has been asked many times before, and there are many differing views. I would sear clear of the 400 and 800 and go for an 800XL or a 65/130XE 800XL- good build quality, great compatability, missing chroma hook up for s-video output (an easy fix) 65XE- not so good on build quality, but has s-video out. Compatability as per the 800XL 130XE- As per the 65XE but with 128k RAM, although the extra RAM is not used in many games If you have a working XEGS I would try to get a keyboard for it though. Try a want add in the marketplace here or Best and B+C sell new. I have a dismantled one here in the UK (undergoing a de-yellowing process), but shipping would probably be a killer i am wanting to jsut find a keyboard , i actually like the xegs so that is my goal, but worst case i cant find one i would get another system. i willl check best, ,what is b + c ? im not familier with that one. yes shipping would probably be very high. thanx for all this help guys i really appreciate it.
  13. looking for one. are there any stores online that have them?
  14. i have a couple of good working 5200 consoles.. one of them, has lower volume then the others. is their a pot on the board to adjust this? or something, or is it common with them to be different?
  15. i like the 5200 controller. yes they do require some upkeep, b ut i place them high on the list of controlelrs actually and i like to tinker and find and repair them, ,its not that hard. i personally think the proline joystick for the 7800 is terrible! and i am a fan of the 7800. but yeah i think the stock 5200 sticks are just fine imo.
  16. i like the sound of all of them actually! but i think i wil ljsut go with the sio2pc and a atarimax cart,it amazes me how many options are out there for the 8 bits! next question is , if im unable to find a keyboard for the xegs.. which other 8-bit should i get,, strictly gaming only. compatibilty is my thing. i love the looks of all of them. so thas not an issue really
  17. hm i see. well i will try this, soon as i get some resisters.im not good with knowing resisters values. i need a color code chart, i will tinker around with the idea.
  18. thanx for the info guys! i will look around a bit. im just trying to save a few dollars! im sure these work with power pc macs? seems like i read that somewhere. if not the wife has a lap top.
  19. bump. no offers? goin to ebay soon, thanx for looking.
  20. i have one listed in the market place. just letting you guys know, thank you!
