  2. ok, as i am a new st user, i hope this isnt too silly of a question, but, some games, i can not start. double dragon 2 for instance, the game fires up, looks like everythign is just fine, however, no matter which key i press on the keyboard, mouse, and or controller, i can not play the dang game! lol please help.

  3. Can anyone confirm the hxc either working with double sided images or not, installed in the sf 354?

Oh yeah, I use the HxC all the time in an SF354 case. I didn't want to deface my SF314.

It was a bit of a pain in the butt getting extension cables. I bought some PC floppy cables and connectors and made the extension for the data cable. I was not able to find a female plug to make an actual power extension, so I just cut and spliced to lengthen the power wire. There's a thread about it here, somewhere in the ST forum, where I think (??) I posted my findings (etc) but I'll tell you I'm a rank amateur.

edit: I should say I use HxC all the time WITH SF354 case, not "in." The plan is to go "in" later. :)

    edit again: This thread.....

    ......has some info.

ahhh great! thanks soo much for confirming, hxc is for sure my next atari purchase! thanks for the links also.

  4. The HxC is a floppy drive replacement accepting (depending on which version one purchases) either USB data from a PC or SD flash memory cards instead of disks (the latter one is equipped with an LCD for selecting the appropriate disk image).

    Link

It's available from Lotharek in Poland (either via his site or his eBay listings eBay Seller: lotharek19771?ff3=10&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpt=[CACHEBUSTER]).

ohhh i c,, well that looks to be the way to go, i used to have something similar to that for the atari 8bit line, it was very handy. thank you very much, looks like i would be better off getting one of those i imagine. so could i just install that in say the sf354 case?

  5. For good games that were (originally) on single-sided disks, I'd recommend

    Starglider

Nebulus (aka Tower Toppler, depending on which side of the pond you live)

    Elite

    Xenon

    Oids

    Stunt Car Racer

    Time Bandit

    The Pawn

You should either get a double-sided disk drive or a HxC (will this work inside the SF354 case?). A RAM expansion is also recommended (1 meg will suffice for games, but 4 megs - using a 72 pin DRAM type SIMM, the appropriate socket and the instructions given by the late Techie Alison here are better of course).

thank you for the games list and info, the 1 meg ram expansion im for sure looking into, im looking for a double sided drive now, and please explain what a hxc is? thanks!
