  1. Bump. Edited post to remove several carts I was able to pick up recently.
  2. Hi, Getting back into the 2600 and I'm rebuilding a small collection and looking for some cheap loose carts, mostly commons but a few uncommon/semi-rare ones. I'm surprised how much people on eBay are asking for this stuff and I am working a lot of overtime for the time being so I can't get to a game shop/flea market where they would be more reasonable. The label preferences are purely because that's what I had as a kid. Must have end labels also, I dislike when they're missing. Also I think the Sears versions look ugly so I'd like to avoid those. Anyway looking for the following: Adventure (prefer black label but will take either black or picture) Asteroids Battlezone Berzerk Breakout (prefer black label but will take either black or picture) Defender Dig Dug H.E.R.O. (looks like this one is pricey these days) Home Run (prefer black label but will take either black or picture) Joust Krull MASH Ms. Pac-Man Oink! Omega Race Pac-Man Pitfall! Pole Position Q*Bert Snoopy and the Red Baron Solaris Space Invaders (prefer black label but will take black, picture or red) Star Voyager (No label preference) Star Wars: The Arcade Game Super Breakout Superman (prefer black label but will take either black or picture) Yar's Revenge Can pay with PayPal or cash if you're within driving distance of zip code 08098 (South Jersey). Thanks. EDIT: Found a couple games locally
  3. Hi everyone. I've had this 7800 collection for years... I don't really want it. I've posted it for sale numerous times both here and other places over the past couple years, and have only gotten a few people interested. It's literally been sitting in an upstairs hallway at my folks' house, collecting dust. I seriously considered just taking the whole thing, setting up a video camera, dousing it in lighter fluid and watching it go up in smoke. As fun as that would be, I kind of worried about the toxic fumes from melting plastic & silicon plus my girlfriend told me I should probably try to get SOMETHING for it. So here I am, about to move into an apartment in a couple weeks. I've been getting rid of crap left and right but this 7800 collection is going nowhere. I need it gone. I spent probably around $800 getting everything. The only game that's missing is Tank Command, because there was no way in hell I was spending over $50 for a mediocre 7800 game. I'm willing to let this lot go for (relatively) dirt cheap. I'm asking $300 FIRM. Firm meaning "I'm not !@#$ing haggling." Firm meaning, if no one bites, I'm shoving it in my parents' attic and pretending it doesn't exist for 20 years. I also will NOT break this lot up. I want it all gone. The only thing I'd be interested in trading for is a non-video-gaming item: a Celestion Alnico Blue 12" guitar amp speaker in like new or brand new condition. I can accept PayPal for payment. Shipping will be in the $30-$50 range. I'm in southern New Jersey, so I highly suggest that anyone who makes me an offer in the northeast actually drive here and do a local pickup instead. In this case I would also accept cash for payment. Any questions, feel free to PM or e-mail me. ========= Hardware: ========= Atari 7800 Console, Serial #72R4BR A1 87 5391318, in good working order Console includes original box in fair condition (no inserts, box serial number does not match console), (2x) 7800 Proline Controllers, (1x) Original AC adapter, (1x) Original RF switchbox, (1x) RCA cable, (2x) owner's manuals, (1x) warranty card, (1x) Pole Position II cart, (1x) Pole Position II manual, (1x) Atari Advantage poster. 4. I appreciate all the offers, but if I'm forced to part the lot out it's going on eBay. I may end up paying more in fees, but it's easier for me to keep track of every transaction that way, and also it's easier to keep potential deadbeat buyers away. So far the offers I've seen for the entire lot have been too low. I paid a hell of a lot for all this stuff back when I was collecting. I realize that I probably won't get what I paid for everything, but there are "reasonable" offers and "insulting" offers and I've honestly gotten more of the latter.
  5. I've had this Atari 7800 collection for about ten years now. It's just sitting around collecting dust and I'd like to be rid of it. The pictures I attached are kind of old, I just got a new camera so I'm probably going to try to take new ones sometime this weekend. I'd prefer not breaking the lot up, but if no one here makes me a good offer I'm probably just going to break it up and throw it on eBay. I'd like to avoid doing that though. I'm open to ANY OFFERS, throw out a price and we can deal. I prefer cash via PayPal, but will listen to any offers. The only trade items I'd be interested in are NES games. PM or e-mail damienmc1@gmail.com with any questions or offers. Also feel free to IM me over AOL Instant Messenger: DamienMCC Here's what I've got: ========= Hardware: ========= Atari 7800 Console, Serial #72R4BR A1 87 5391318, in good working order Console includes original box in fair condition (no inserts, box serial number does not match console), (2x) 7800 Proline Controllers, (1x) Original AC adapter, (1x) Original RF switchbox, (1x) RCA cable, (2x) owner's manuals, (1x) warranty card, (1x) Pole Position II cart, (1x) Pole Position II manual, (1x) Atari Advantage poster. 6. Looking to sell my 7800 collection. Includes all NTSC 7800 cartridges (except Tank Command) and several other unique items. List of all items is attached as a text file. Will consider all offers. I will NOT break the collection up, I know I'll get less this way but it's honestly too much of a hassle to sell individually. Would prefer cash but will consider trading for NES games. Please PM or e-mail me with any offers or questions. Thanks for looking. 7800.txt

  8. The auction has been relisted: My 7800 Collection on eBay Reserve is now public: $600. Might seem a little high, but this is basically what I spent for everything over the years. Consider that I found some rarer carts in the wild (like Midnight Mutants and Scrapyard Dog) and some items I got for ridiculously low prices (I got Mean 18 complete for FREE, some guy accidentally included it with an eBay auction of common carts). I'll probably be on these forums peddling my wares if it doesn't sell on eBay...
  9. BTW, does anyone have a guess as to what the final bid is going to be? I know I paid around $600 total for the whole collection over the years, but I can't begin to guess what this will end up for. It seems like the rarer stuff has gone up in price slightly while the common stuff's value has plummeted.
  10. Yeah, it was Tank Command. I wasn't prepared to shell out ~$150 for a stupid loose copy. And that was like a year ago, I can only imagine what they're going for now.
  11. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=160096649954 It was time I guess... Someone bid high and make me rich!
  12. Well, I'm broke and running out of space in the house so I finally decided to sell the 7800 collection. I'm hoping a serious collector will take it. I've spent over $600 over the past 7 or 8 years collecting most of this stuff, but I really don't know what it's worth now. Name a price. I'll accept PayPal payments, or if you happen to live in driving distance I'll take cash. Here's what I've got (I'm at work right now so I'm detailing the conditions of the items from memory, once I get home I'll make corrections/add more detail): Atari 7800 Console (manufactured in 1990 IIRC; includes box, manual, 2 working Proline controllers, RF switchbox & av hookups, & ac adapter, works perfectly) XE Light Gun (gun only, works ok) Atari 2600 Trakball controller (includes manual, works ok) And of course, the games (condition specified): Asteroids (includes manual) Ace of Aces (complete in box) Alien Brigade (complete in box) Ballblazer (red end label, cart only) Barnyard Blaster (complete in box) Basketbrawl (cart only) Centipede (cart only) Choplifter! (cart only) Commando (complete in box, box has moderate wear) Crack'ed (cart only) Crossbow (complete in box) Dark Chambers (complete in box) Desert Falcon (cart only) Dig Dug (cart only) Donkey Kong (cart only) Donkey Kong Junior (complete in box) Double Dragon (cart only) F-18 Hornet (cart only) Fatal Run (cart only) Fight Night (complete in box) Food Fight (cart only) Galaga (complete in box) Hat Trick (cart only) Ikari Warriors (cart only) Impossible Mission (cart only) Jinks (cart only) Jinks (sealed in box) Joust (complete in box) Karateka (includes manual) KLAX (reproduction cart, complete in box) Kung-Fu Master (cart only) Mario Bros. (cart only) Mat Mania Challenge (complete in box) Mean 18 Ultimate Golf (complete in box) Meltdown (cart only) Midnight Mutants (complete in box) Motor Psycho (cart only) Ms. Pac-Man (complete in box) Ninja Golf (complete in box) One-on-One Basketball (cart only) Pete Rose Baseball (cart only) Planet Smashers (cart only) Pole Position II (pack-in, includes manual) Pole Position II (silver version, complete in box) Rampage (cart only) Realsports Baseball (cart only) Robotron: 2084 (cart only) Scrapyard Dog (complete in box) Sentinel (PAL, sealed in box) Summer Games (cart only) Super Huey (cart only) Super Skateboardin' (cart only) Super Skateboardin' (PAL, complete in box) Title Match Pro Wrestling (complete in box) Tomcat: The F-14 Fighter Simulator (includes manual) Touchdown Football (cart only) Tower Toppler (complete in box) Water Ski (complete in box) Winter Games (cart only) Xenophobe (complete in box) Xevious (complete in box) PM or e-mail damienmcNOSPAM@comcast.net with offers (obviously, remove NOSPAM). Serious offers only please. Thanks.
  13. Just thought I'd add some things about this collection: I'll only be selling this collection if I get an offer that I couldn't possibly refuse. I unfortunately had a VERY BAD experience with PayPal (which is partially why I'm in so much debt), so unfortunately I will only be able to accept cash (local pickup only) or USPS Money Orders. I regret having to do this but some jerk on PayPal really burned me. Again, for pics or if you have any questions, PM or e-mail me.
  14. Hi. I've been collecting for the Atari 7800 for about 6 or 7 years. I have every game (including Klax and PAL Sentinel) except for Tank Command (which I refuse to pay over $30 for, I don't care how rare it is, lol). It breaks my heart to think about selling everything, but it breaks my wallet being $20k in debt from student loans. So everyone, make me an offer. I'm not going to even bother guessing what this collection is worth. If I get some once-in-a-lifetime offers, I just may let it go. Here's a complete list of what I have: 7800 List Some games have manuals/boxes, and some don't. Refer to the list. Pics available upon request. Thanks.
  15. Looking for a copy of Tank Command for the Atari 7800. This is the last game I need for a complete collection. I'm willing to offer $50 for a loose, working copy. I think this is reasonable. I am, however, willing to haggle if necessary. I don't give a crap about the condition so long as the game works and the label is readable. I honestly don't think anything over $20 for a mediocre obscure 7800 game is worth it (even considering rarity), but god damn it I want to finish off this collection once and for all. hah. PM or e-mail me for offers.
  16. I have a huge 7800 collection. However, I also am a poor college student and need $$$ badly (finally moving out of the house, need $900 for a security deposit, etc.). I've been pondering whether or not I want to sell it. So anyways, I'm interested in what I could get for my collection. Here's what I have: http://home.comcast.net/~damienmc/7800.txt Basically I have every game except Tank Command, in various states of completeness.
  17. I just bought my girlfriend an engagement ring and now I am poor! Bid on my stuff! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=5243861348
  18. http://www.grandtheftendo.com/ Not Atari, but cool nonetheless...
  19. I've seen Pete Rose Baseball on eBay way too often for it to be worth $30 to me. I need it to finish my collection, but I don't need it THAT bad. Food and gas, yes... unfortunately Pete Rose Baseball no. Don't even get me started on Tank Command.
  20. I saw a loose, incomplete copy go for like $30 last week on eBay, which is a total ripoff. I'm looking for a copy myself. (psst... anyone who has one can be nice and PM me to sell it... ) It's actually a half-decent baseball game. I hate the infield controls (it's SO realistic for a 1st baseman to have to grab a ball at the pitcher's feet because it's 2 pixels above where the the pitcher can run) and it's WAY too easy to get a home run, but it's light years better than Realsports Baseball.
  21. I think the prices for "vintage" games overall has become so inflated now because the whole "retro gaming" thing is en vogue. Look at NES prices on eBay... games which are fairly common like SMB 3, Zelda, Metroid, Metal Gear and Mega Man go for insane prices, sometimes upwards of $30 for loose incomplete copies. I probably paid way too much for my 7800 stuff, but it's my favorite system and I figured that it has such a small library I might as well try to get a complete set (I almost did the same for the Sega 32X which has an even smaller library than the 7800, but the games were too expensive and were quite honestly not fun at all. ) But yes, people want way too much for some games. The only ones I need are Tank Command and Pete Rose Baseball, and I saw a copy of the latter go for something like $30 on eBay not too long ago, which is totally not worth it. I'd spring the $70+ for Tank Command, but I'm currently between jobs and can't afford to lose the $$$. The highest price I paid for a 7800 game was over $65 for a complete copy of Alien Brigade, followed by ~$30 each for Planet Smashers, Fatal Run, Motor Psycho, and Double Dragon, $20 for a complete Water Ski from Atari2600.com, and $15 each for Tomcat F-14, Scrapyard Dog and Basketbrawl. I did get lucky with some others: I got my complete copy of Mean 18 for free by accident in an eBay lot. I also got Commando, Xenophobe, Impossible Mission, Rampage, and a couple other semi-rares in lots along with a ton of commons, then I'd resell the commons and end up spending a total of roughly $10-15 on the games themselves. I also found complete copies of Dark Chambers, Midnight Mutants, and Ninja Golf for $5 (!!!) each at Philly Classic 4. So not counting the system itself, I've probably spent upwards of $300-400 on my collection. Wow, that kind of sucks now that I think about it. Good thing the games are fun.
  22. I'm fairly new to programming for the Atari 8-bit but I'm also horribly enthusiastic about it, so for the past two months or so I've been massing a collection of books to educate myself on how to program. I've snagged over a dozen books, including some of the more important ones (Mapping the Atari, De Re Atari, Your Atari Computer, Atari Graphics & Arcade Game Design, etc.). So I've basically been reading like a maniac in my spare time trying to figure everything out. I'm progressing well, but I have some questions. I understand the concept of display lists, and I already realize that building my own is a goal I want to accomplish. I think I have a grasp on how it works, but it's hard to be sure using the books I have as references. So let's say I'm programming a game, and I want a display with 2 (2 x 8 scanlines) lines of Antic mode 2 for a title bar/score display, then the rest of the screen in Antic D (11 lines x 16 scanlines) for graphics. So that's 16 scanlines of mode 2 + 176 scanlines of mode D = 192 scanlines. I think I got that part right. So now can I put this display list in any free RAM I may have, say for example, in page 6? I would think that I could simply start the list at 1536 and poke each instruction in, then poke the new location of the list to PEEK(560) and PEEK(561), then everything should work correctly. I haven't actually implemented any of this yet, it's all on paper and in my head so far, but I wanted to ask about it first to see if I'm on the right track. Sorry in advance if I sound ignorant of the subject, it's probably because I am. But the worst questions are the ones left unasked. TIA
