they dont have a u.s. arm anymore, though, do they?
-
hahahaa i still think it's possible, just because I refuse to believe that anything is impossible!
-
just for 2k? wow. Kind of comforting to think that the task of generating every 2k 2600 program ever possible would crash the mainframe on the Starship Enterprise. :-)

What do you think of my History of RPG's article?
Godzilla replied to Godzilla's topic in Atari 2600
cause the game wouldn't be much fun if you walked around spanking everything with ease? -
¡Pd. 4 Thrust 5-02;1 Lawsuit + 18 Months == FINALLY results!

Thanks, TJ. Just remember, you don't have to be a hooker about it. -
so whatch y'all think o the first homebrew console package?
Godzilla replied to Godzilla's topic in Atari 2600
im kinda worried about their QA, they don't have any limes for their Corona! But seriously, I do hope they can manage s-vid/a/v ports, i mean they are assembling them from all these quality parts and what not. -
well as long as no one goes and pushes the issue with taito (are they still in business?) or the e.r.b. guys, I dont think you'd have any problem calling it frikin tarzan, WITH the yell. I mean this is a 2600 hack, not exactly the most high profile thing in the world. just avoid profit and you should be fine.

I havent gone through my atari boxes in ages, but one day when I do, I will check. I think it's really weird, especially since Star Ship and Mini Golf were expunged from the atari catalog well before 82... I've lost track of how many label variations I have of Star Ship. Hey, read my star ship review at atari carts. and there is a thread about it in here. Star Ship rises again :-)

oh, and drinking and fishing naturally go together, anyway.
-
fishing derby is GREAT for this.

I know its a LOT of combinations, but with a basic filtering program to weed out dead code, and distributed computing, you don't think this is remotely possible? Remember, every year cpu speeds go up.

i love journey esacpe. though i cant explain why. its a guilty pleasure. my no. 1 tip, that ive iscovered. start each level as FAST as you can and get up to the top of the screen as quickly as possible and run full tilt. If done properly, you will get a mighty manager on EVERY level.
-
just as a side note, if you were keeping this strictly 2600, you could keep all the 2k roms in a database to make sure you don't waste computation time regenerating laser blast, etc.

This is an offshoot of a simple program a friend of mine and I developed AGES ago in our c/64-a8bit coding days, we made a little prog that generated a random low-res a8bit screen gfx. We rightly assumed that, by elimination replication, eventually, our program would generate every combination of low res atari 8 bit graphic ever (aka lots of free porn to us kiddies,) but of course, most of it is pap. Anyway, I was thinking about this today. And how hard would it be to make a program using distributed computer (something like the seti thing or seventeen or bust,) that generated EVERY possible combination of 2k,4k,8k, etc code in binary, or whatever form neccessary, and checked it to see if it was worth a spit, and made sure no two pieces of code were made twice. Since the 2600 is the master of something actually useful existing in a mere 2/4/8 k etc, I thought this would be a very interesting project for someone with more skills than myself. It could truly generate every possible 2600 game ever, within the code size. And I can't imagine that 2k could take TOOOO terribly long with enough cpu muscle behind it? Thoughts? (And, no, I can't code it. my coding skillz were in use back in the 80s, and only on a8bit/c64 basic. poke 53280,0. there you go :-) )

make sure you mop up after yourself.

peter schilling has an old video game song, zone 804, iirc, that would fit any space shooter you wanted it too, but 5200 zone ranger has zone in the title... :-)

if your poop is neon blue, is that bad?

is there anything like mad cats data decks for the ps2 that let u send/receive saves to a pc? that way u could ul the save :-) for all to enjoy

since you are already breaking copyright law, keeping it on the down-low, and bereft of profit, would definately help you. You will only encounter legal problems if someone is somehow alerted.

none that i know of so far -
man, that is a MAD kung fu master. you could probably beat up jackie chan with just your fire-button thumb. Any strategy tips as far as how to defeat certain opponents without taking any damage?

Godzilla replied to Godzilla's topic in Atari 2600
Just a note, griffons site is back up, so for any/many of you have may have missed the actual history of rgps article, you should be able to read it again. Link at the top of this thread -
ooooh, pretty. now write something that display em all at once on a 2600 and make a game out of it :-)
