  1. im sure you could modulate some oscillators or something, but i dont know what that has to do with windows 95
  2. i think there is a forum for sale stuff. you should try there.
  3. i always think faster than i type (correction,) i dont know what (etc)
  4. i dont what nes mushrooms this guy was doing, but the 7800 arcade ports are to this day the best classic era arcade ports i've played. 7800 galaga SPANKS nes galaga, imho. as does joust, millipede, xevious, and so many others. To to mention the ones the 78 has that the nes doesn't, like robotron, food fight, etc. and the 7800 IS 2600 compatible so it belongs here. And 2600 stargate is better than NES defender 2 :-) so there.

    2600 pacman

26 pacman was a lot of fun back in the day. K.C. Munchkin is STILL the best pac-man type game, ever. imho.
  6. I --==REALLY==-- don't understand why Laser Blast gets such ire. I've loved the game since I first played it. It's a perfect example of what makes all great 2600 games, a simple game play premise that gets more challenging. and CRIPES if game one gets too easy for, pat yourself on the back and try a HARDER difficulty. sheesh. And then on those days when u really need to rain down death on all those below you like a merciless omnipotent god, Laser Blast will be there for you. What more can you ask of a game? some people....

    how many?

wow, 547, thats awesome! i can only one day hope to enter the hallowed 500 range (and that will be due to homebrews/etc :-) ) I'm in the 420s, NOT counting sears duplicates.
  8. I have both the cosmic commander, and flight commander. They were gimmicks, a game and a controller that were sold together. I'm not aware of the games selling by themselves in the u.s. The space is game very weak, and is alomst completely unplayable with its pack in controller, but is a LITTLE better with a joystick. Spitfire attack is also weak with it's packin controller, but with a decent controller it's a very impressive game. I really dig the 3d terrain scrolling effect and the 3d scaling of the incoming planes. The game plays VERY smoothly. It was a real surprise when I discovered that the game didn't suck. After playing the space game, I never even gave spitfireattack a second thought :-) Both controllers feel very cheap, and flimsy, plastic wise, and if you put batteries in them they light up (weee!) (and it also helps weight them, they need all the help they can get.) Neat to have in your collection, for sure, though. Both my controllers were cheap thrift store finds. You will still sometimes see them in the kid toy section of thriftstore.
  9. the mighty zylon bane couldnt hack desert falcon into zaxxon? :-) Yea, with the terrain elements it would be quite a bit different from DF. I never really liked 2600 mr. do much either, but that one MIGHT have been doable, though i sure don't know how. The characters would need to be smaller and you would need to somehow be able to leave a line of dirt detween traveled paths like in the arcade.. a severe dig dug hack?
  10. i use my mind powers, thats telekenesis, kyle.
  11. and how about desert falcon, eh? Ok, you managed very rudimentary iso metric butt ugly 3d and quasi scrolling, but the already not-that-awe-inspiring gameplay of the merely good 7800 game seemed to evaporate in the process. Atari should have used the engine to enhance their re-release of zaxxon, since they re-released a buncha coleco titles :-)
  12. i think they were all programmed by that one guy who wrote the entire u.s. odyssey 1 library. If he was that prolific, I'm sure he needed some more outlets for his mad coding.
  13. I really hope they have a nice box for the system. And really, for $200-$250, they should have a/v+svid like any modern console :-) maybe get e.b. to carry em :-) :-)

    2600 pacman

well i know an actual seperate artist, not rob fulop, did the graphics in fathom, and the animation of the sprites. i dont know much about how atari did it, though.
  17. yea that can be a big part of startegy relating to whether its worth risking a collision. ill have to have some more gos at at it and record scores, now that im a little warmed up
  18. whats wrong with a little (x)(h)ype for our ol dead systems? Id love to see our classic systems recieve even a modicrum of a wink like the modern systems do. maybe make people realize that isnt all just graphics and sound, and that good pure fast gameplay MIGHT just be worth something?
  19. and ne1 says im always causing trouble... what does he know? :-)
  20. http://www.atari7800.com/prosystem/ i think that there is kinda neat. cant we just stop arguing over the legal grey areas and let people sell us cool niche sh*t that only us ol freaky geeks enjoy anyway? bring back hozer, too, i say.

    2600 pacman

AT THE TIME i really enjoyed 2600 pac. it had the fundamentals of the gameplay, but it had its own flavor. i still want to see pesco modified into near perfect 2600 pac/ms pac w/ intermissions :-)
  22. yea but maybes its more buff processor could squeeze a bit more out, eh?
