  1. all this talk scares me. has anyone recieved one in the past few months? I thought someone did? If they did then he's still sending them out (slower than dead things,) right? I must keep the faith.
  2. kewl, the more xype the better. but just dont over hype xype
  3. what is air raid? (is it that menavision thing?) And just because you only have/know of five doesnt mean the production run wasnt larger.
  4. thats pretty funny, but in ways the vcs was more advanced than some of ataris old dedicated b/w arcade hardware
  5. it also seems to me that a lot of those early atari carts weren't really attempts to port an arcade game but more 2600 games 'inspired' by the arcade games. Space Invaders on the 2600 was just unbelievable to me as a little kid, it warped my fragile little mind. Here was the arcade with TONS more options, and double fire :-) WOW
  6. guess we will have to wait for the sadistic f--k adavie to release 10 copies of his kung fu game until there is a 2600 game rarer than video life.
  7. it's a good thing im not holding my breath... still waiting...
  8. i used to own this one cib for the vic, but lost it long ago. its not really that simple. you have two characters who you switch between, the princess, keeping the bats away from her (iirc, its been a while,) and tomarc who is trying to get to her to rescue her. I remeber the game being intially very confusing, even with the manual. But I did eventually master it to a point where I never wanted to play it again, which is why i got rid of way back. Wish I had kept it. Got the 2600 version a few years ago, and I still haven't played it.
  9. Interesing how the readers of atari age's forums rated commavids magicard as the rarest 2600 cartridge, when only owners of the magicard could get video life. Thus drastically reducing the number of people who got video life, and making video life tons rarer than the magicard. What do you think?
  10. god im such a geek. how do i know? because i find those comics funny. :-)
  11. yea, isnt there an ebay forum to save us from this shameless capitalism? hmmm should I post my first batch of atari carts for sale here too? :-)
  12. I own Omega Chase delux yaddayadda edition. Vic Omega Race spanks it like a little puppy. But OC is still a nice adaptation.
  13. sheesh, ask about pleadies (sp) and look what happens. Anyway, CCC, as to your earlier response, YOU EVIL BASTARD!!! (CCC has been promising me pictures of pleadies on the arcadia for about 3 years now, and it's always 'next weekend') PLEADIES!!!
  14. ive got some of those iirc they are champ pro sticks or smthn. they really suck.
  15. while you are at it, how about curling on the 2600, eh? its got ice in it too!
  16. I own every u.s. label variation of star ship (including the sears variations,) (and now an intl variation too! :-)
  17. I wonder if they will feature poorly animated, blocky athletes, and worse games than the Mattel Sports Network? hmmmm....
  18. Esecially since it was one of the first games Atari pulled from it's catalog voluntarily, and mini golf. I remember a little section in Eletornic Games magazine long ago about Mini Golf and Star Ship being the first collectible atari cartridges, they had an illustration of a mock antique shop with Star Ship and Mini Golf in the display window :-) Probably the first print reference to Atari 2600 carts being collectible :-)
  19. heck yea, supercharger. we need new supercharger homebrews. And you can make the game on cd, so it can be 99 X 6k loads. that a big 2600 game, eh?
  20. well guess no one cares about that, eh? I'll have to try to build it some day just to see if it's as great I dream it is...
  21. Oops, sorry. That would be my mistake :-) On a freaky note, I got an old busted .br pir8 cart that was promised to me a trade AGES ago in the mail yesterday, a nameless, endlabelless homevision cart, and it's a pir8 of Star Ship! What are the odds, eh??
  22. Well I know it's not nostalgia for me, as I've tried omega race in mame on several ocassions, and I still MUCH prefer the vic version. (It kills the weak c64 version too.) I only wish someone would figure out some way to take that game code and make it run full speed and flicker/slowdown-less on the higher levels. Some people ported it to the turbo graphic 16 on a pir8 multi cart filled with nothing but vic-20 games (no lie,) one of my fave tg16 carts of all time. Has mutant herd, omega race, radar rat race, seamus and many of my other vic-20 faves. The vic-20's games always really reminded me of 2600 games (In a good way,) but just a bit more buff....
