  1. I tried the PS VR in the store a while ago, and I thought it was really amazing. The way it compensates your head movements is a technical marvel. Also, I tried looking at the 'ground' (I was standing behind a fence in a racing game), then I moved my head forward and the perspective of the fence changed accordingly. It's the closest thing to a holodeck! By the way, does it help getting a PS4 Pro for VR, instead of a slim? I still haven't got one but now there are enough games for it that I like.
  2. I started with Shenmue 2 since I could find it easily. I think it was one of the best games out there. I loved everything about that game: - gameplay (mix of exploration, QTE's, fighting, boring stuff like working) - music (every area has it's own music. night and day have also different music) - loads of NPC's who have their own path and dialog. - cutscenes have a great cinematic style. - attention to detail, there is so much to be seen, and everything has a 'reason' it's there. And there is some stuff you don't even see the first time you play it, like Fangmei's birthday, the duckrace.
  3. I saw a C64 mini in a local store. It didn't need Kickstarter/Indigogo!

Am I allowed to point out that a Raspberry Pi in a cute case can do the same thing?

      @BydoEmpir, Intertoys, a dutch store.

  4. I'm not sure. I've played it on the amiga, a few times on an emulator. So I'm not that excited to play the game again. I was hoping for enhanced graphics, but they just added some filters. It seems to have enhanced audio, so that's nice.
  5. I can basically finish any sokoban level , does that count?
  6. I think the biggest problem of these projects would be the software. Without software it's worth nothing.
  7. I was wondering, is Kristen Keller still involved?
  8. Chameleon, Polymega, Gameband, Ataribox, what's next?

My system, obviously. Just mail me the money, & I'll design it & license a once-famous name. ;)

CPU podcast just did a bit on a new Inty… seriously, these would have better luck doing the Konami thing & making some slots.

  9. I think it looks nice and it's cool they put a 4:3 screen in it.
  10. Where is my portable blu ray player with 1080p oled screen? I thought they could make everything these days.

I love OLED screens. Vita has the most beautiful gaming screen!

I have the Sony oled glasses, hmz-t1, they are pretty awesome too.

  11. N64 was really cool with its SGI related hardware inside. I had lots of fun floating around with Pilotwings. I'm tempted to get an N64 just to play Pilotwings again. I wasn't really into ps1 until Resident Evil came along, another cool gaming experience. Funny how Nintendo tried to be cutting-edge bitd (N64, GC maybe), but now take a modest approach when it comes to hardware.
  12. Hurray, got a lower specced item than advertised from Aliexpress.

It was €35 so not the end of the world. I might get €17 back. What bothers me is that AliExpress approves this way of doing business.

It's like the Ford Pinto thing. Paying the lawsuits is cheaper than redesign.

They pay for a few expensive returns/exchanges that people notice. And profit tons more from the ones that slip by.

  13. Quite ignorant to say that the birth of the home-computer was 38 year ago, on an event where lots of older (home)computers can be seen. Or should it be, 'The birth of the reasonably priced, very successful, fully equipped (considering low-res graphics, 5Kb ram, which of 3.5Kb are usable in basic is 'full'), non-membrane keyboard, not being marketed as game console, succeeded by the very successful c64, home-computer!'
  14. What is the machine doing? Lots of positive responses to the video. They all 'want one', they probably know what it actually is? Are those real accounts? True, history teaches us these kind of teasers are always scammy. Maybe they asked someone to create a random pcb with just their name ('Polymega') on it, who knows?
  15. update 32 Hello Everyone, The challenges of running a Kickstarter can become overwhelming. In our case there has certainly been a lot of that feeling in the last months. While thats not an excuse for silence on our side, we have been working through a number of issues and challenges to find a path forward, and apologize this update has taken time to get out. We really appreciate your support and patience as we work things through. We've had knock-backs on several fronts. Personal, technical, financial, staffing, and more. Youll recall our USB connector issues, which brought additional costs and delays we were not expecting. That delay led in turn to discussions with our supplier on what the initial production run will be (beyond just Kickstarter volumes) that we have been negotiating, to finally move beyond the DVT phase, which has proved more challenging that we expected. We had a great run through EVT and software development, until getting bogged down with issues in the past few months. We are doing everything we can to agree a new plan with our partners to bring us forward. We need more time while we figure this out and revise our overall plan. We know this isn't what you want to hear. We know you've taken a chance and invested in Gameband, and in us as a company, and we do not take that support lightly. We will give more details as soon as we can. In the meantime be assured we are here, working every angle 100%, and we will continue to do everything we can to keep moving forward. Thanks as always for your support. The Gameband Team.

Or you ever notice in cop/detective shows in the 70's/80's, the cop always breaks into somewhere he's not supposed to be and finds a paper trail...Usually it's in a file cabinet to be read by flashlight haha...

  17. Probably a 486 (With Vesa Local Bus), Amiga 1200 and an Atari Lynx.

      roland p

OOP wasn't enough of course, so they invented design patterns, solid principles, dependency injection, entity frameworks and test driven development to test your bloated code.

  19. I also prefer the full version. It 'forgets' my preference after a while. Maybe the expiration date for the cookie can be set to something longer?
  20. Lootboxes in Animal Crossing. Omg. Nintendo what are you doing!?

It might feel faster, because there's less wandering around in a literal "clicker" game, and it's also easier to get into it for short periods of time.

I "want to like" Animal Crossing, too. A friend calls the 3DS version his favorite game ever.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf on the 3DS is by far the best Animal Crossing, there's just no contest. I still have a soft spot for Wild World on the original DS though. =)

I plan on picking them up when I see them (price pending - not paying full AAA price for them when I have original copies still.)

  23. Shenmue 1&2 hd are coming!

  24. You could take this to the extreme. If that was true, the only game you would play is something like 'Pong'. Subsequent systems added colors, graphics, a CPU. Each generation of consoles solved problems of the previous generation. Right now, and in the past 40 years we are witnessing the evolution of gaming, from something very primitive (pong), to something very advanced and almost lifelike. Pong was pushing only one pixel per frame, the ps4 pro has a pixel fillrate of 58.3 GP/s. I think that's pretty awesome.
