Yep try fiddling with the v.hold and h.hold buttons, that might solve the problem (you can do this well it's on afaik), if it's not a problem related to the cable between the ST and monitor that is, so if the hold twisters don't work then try moving the cable and see if that has any effect.

Atari ST system on new hardware?
ZoggingHell replied to sorcerio's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
There hasn't been a new Atari clone for years unfortunately. There is a project to get something working around the Coldfire processor (the successor to the 68k chip), but obviously there are so few people left so it is slow going. The nearest thing to a new Atari we've had recently is the CT60, which pumped up the processor in the Falcon. -
Thank you for the information! I'll begin searching for the SCSI host adapter and the software; wish me luck! Oh BTW if your using it on an ST as your 'main' drive with the Link cable you may have to carry out several resets of the computer to get the ST to recognise the Syquest, or at least you had to with my Ezflyer, it was a right pain! (though an earlier model might work a bit better) I think any of the hard drive software worked, I settled on good old fashioned AHDI when I used mine but as has been said ICD is better overall. Don't worry about the Falcon I got it fixed! Cost me an arm and a leg though..

I don't know of any list but I used to have an Ezflyer 230mb Syquest drive and the lower capacity drives all worked as well (one Syquest drive was released as an Atari badged product). They were appalling though but a cheap way of getting extra storage at the time. When my Ezflyer died it zapped my Falcon at the same time.. :-(

As you said it was a 2.5mb STFM I think we ran rule out that the memory banks had been disabled as if mem serves me correctly you could only have 2.5mb if the original 512k was still working. Your ram card probably added two 1mbs. I've never heard of that ram upgrade, but if it's one with Simms or sipps you could try replacing those. Are you sure you've totally removed the upgrade and if so, have you made sure any chips you pulled on or out (a lot of upgrades needed chips on some STFMs to be pulled out) have been reseated properly and there aren't any bent pins.
