  1. I saw this on Underground Gamer. I have sssnake but i dont know if they have it here already. let me know if you still need it and i can load up the scanner. need boxes and such yet too?

Hey, What's up? I left it on the list because you were still looking for a way to scan it when last we talked. Do you have a scanner now?

As for the box there is a good scan on here already http://www.atariage.com/box_page.html?SoftwareLabelID=488 but thanks anyway. :)

  2. http://www.atariguide.com/

    http://www.atarimania.com/start.php

    http://www.replacementdocs.com/download.php

Also the GMA is gone but their archive lives at Underground Gamer...

Anyways I have raped all of these sources and scanned about 100 manuals myself and the only US 2600 manuals I am missing are listed here http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=114509

If you want anything (not listed on the missing list) I am happy to upload it for you ;)

  3. Retrozone has Wii adaptors for NES and SNES joypads. ;)

    http://www.retrousb.com/index.php?categoryID=80

Those are GCN adaptors, not Wii.

Technically, yes, but the Wii has two controller ports for the GC controllers, so these can be used on the Wii as wired. I'm looking forward to homebrew stuff for that crazy little port :)

    Nathan

    Yeah, what he said....

And to point to the website it says "Use RetroPorts to plug original NES and SNES controllers into your Wii for Virtual Console games"

Anyways RetroZone is trustworthy. I ordered a bunch of adaptors fom them back when they had USB adaptors for almost any console.....those days are gone now :( but I still trust their service. :)

  4. I've never tried pcaewin, but I will now. I like the idea of the multiple "viewers".

It takes a while to get set up but in the end...

    Normal view

    Manual open

    fe5bbe7dc34fd579ddfd2bf611f397d0.th.jpg

I use the "back cover" spot for random related images

    3990307acd584cb8dc7a65da695b86bc.th.jpg

The next version of Stella will include a ROM snapshot viewer and an area showing ROM info (name, manufacturer, controllers, etc). I may also add a cartridge scan tab. I doubt I will ever add a manual viewer, though. In fact, many of these features could be built into a standalone frontend (like x26 for z26), but nobody seems to be stepping up to write one. So I'm adding the more popular features directly into the Stella UI.

    That's good to hear. :)

  5. Why Stella over Z26?

As a gamer (who's not debugging anything) I have to say my favorite emu is PCAEWin. I love the way it displays box and cart scans and the built in manual viewer is awesome. My only complaint is that I can't seem to get my paddles (w/ stelladaptor) working in it...but that might be my stupidity...So I use Stella for paddle games.

  6. I just don't like watermarking images.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but I gotta say, I love that about this site!

    Watermarks are the devils handywork.

Yes sometimes an a-hole is going to steal your work but there are a-holes everywhere and why should everyone have to suffer because of them.

And this is coming form someone who has had his work taken and watermarked many times (Replacementdocs.... I'm looking at you)

  8. I am trying to get a complete set of US manuals. I am only missing a few manuals and I am hoping that someone here can help. I would like the raw scans, (I can rotate and crop and resize myself) done at 300dpi. Just zip them up and post here or send me a PM. I will send a cd/dvd of manuals to any contributor that is on dial-up. (just ask).

    Here is my missing list.

    WANTED USA SCANS

    Exus-

    Video Jogger/Video Reflex

    Simage-

    Eli's Ladder

    Ultravision-

    Karate

Now, if anyone wants any manuals that I have (PDFs) I am happy to upload them for you :)

    EDIT:

    Hello Everybody,

  9. I'm on the emulation bandwagon

I have an X-Aracde, a Stelladaptor (for paddles)+2 Retrozone 9pin usb adaptors (2600 sticks, SMS pads,ect...), 4 Adaptoids (N64), 2 PSX to usb adaptors, and a NES Four Score modified for USB.....I think thats all...

I want to find one of these for my retro Sega needs but the only places I found it were sold out

    ssusbwhitepadqw8.th.gif

It is a USB pad made by Sega Japan. ;)

  10. Anyone out there know of any good, newer arcade music emulators?

I've been using "FoxM1" for years... it works pretty good and has a WAV output feature, but the selections are kind of limited -- the last revision was in 2003. Some Neo*Geo sound files don't play correctly (mainly Alpha Denshi's games -- the Ninja Commando music doesn't play properly at all, Blue's Journey has missing sound channels, etc.)

I wanna find a new one... are there any newer, decent emulators, with a GUI?

There was a torrent just posted yesterday at http://www.underground-gamer.com that conatined....well I'll quote the description....

This is a collection of Sound Arcade Emulator ROMSETS. Sound Arcade Emulators emulate the sound roms only of various arcade hardware. Sound arcade emulators are designed for a variety of reasons. Some are designed in an attempt to figure out how to emulate currently unemulated sound chips, some to document various types of sound chips, others are just incomplete emulators that can only do sound at the moment, and finally some are made for the purpose of listening to arcade music. Each set in this torrent only contains the sound roms for the related emulator. More infomation on most of these emulators, as well as the emulators themselves, can be found at http://caesar.logiqx.com/php/emulators.php?id=sound. DATs can be found at http://www.logiqx.com/Dats/OlderEmus/.

The more well known emulators in this set will undoubtedly be M1 and Nebula Jukebox. Those will probably also be the best to use. The other sets in this collection are designed in mind mainly for hardcore rom collectors.

The full list of romsets' emulators are below:

    Bally-Midway Sounds Good Emulator v0.2

    FM-EMU v0.1

    GXP v0.1

    Hoot 20020928

    M1 v0.7.7u4

MMSnd v0.36b10 (Note: MMSnd is Incomplete - Missing 13 Roms)

    NeoJukeBox v2.7

    Nebula JuxeBox v2.9

    Playscott v1.2

    QPlayer v1.4.3

    QSound Player v2

    System 16 Sound Player

    tROMbone v0.11

www.underground-gamer.com is a private site (you have to sign up) and no I'm not just trying to pimp the site (although I do love it) :)

  11. Thanks for the reply.....I think I figured it out. It's weird that it doesn't really display any changes but if you click on the button you want to map once then the function once it works.

I have tried the other emus but I like this interface best

    EDIT: (spelling)

  12. Is there some trick to configuring joysticks in PCAEWin? I can't seem to figure it out....I've tried everything I can think of but nothing happens. I love the interface of PCAE (Manual, box scan, and cart scan support) but if I can't get the joystick working it is pointless. Anyways all the links to the documantion on the PCAE site are broken, can someone help me out?
