Been there, done that....
I made the box and sent it off to a guy to do the USB controller. In the end I was not really happy with his work (and the price tripled while he was working on it) but it almost does what it was supposed to. The switches work but the toggle swiches are always "on" (constant button press), which is fine in the emulator but if I switch to a different program while it is plugged in I get interesting effects... He also said he could get joysticks, paddles, driving controllers, keypads, and a slew of other controllers all working. Most of them work but not super well. If you are interested here's what works..
A2600 Joysticks - good
A2600 Paddles and Driving - Windows sees some kind of input but the emulator does not...I still use Stelladaptors
A2600 Keypad - only works in player one slot
SMS pad - Works
Genesis pad - Untested (should work)
Colecovision pad - joystick works, keypad does not
Intellivision pad - Untested (I bet it's the same as Coleco)

TheXFactor sent me new scans to join and he asked me to post them in a new thread so here they are....
Letter.pdf Poster (Missing entry portion).pdf
I came to realize that his poster has 1/4 of it cut off (I believe that portion had an entry form that he cut off and mailed in...). Here is a low quality scan of just the front of the poster...

The poster is too big for me to download until I get home later.
Are you planning on joining the images or just uploading them?
-
I'll do it for you. Just send me the files, I will pm an address. Be sure to overlap scans on the poster.
I just sent them to Mirage, so I think it's covered unless you'd like to have them as well? Easy enough to send them to you if you'd like.
Big time THANKS to both of you for helping out!!
Cool. Less work for me...

I played it a lot as a kid....

What brand is that trackball mouse and how do you like it for MAME?

Although I agree with you about younger reviewers not giving classic games a fair review, I honestly feel like defending ET is a new "*vogue* thing to do"... As a kid who got ET for christmas, I can tell you I always thought it sucked (and so did all my friends). I don't ever remember anyone coming over and saying "Let's play ET", unless they had never tried it before. And even now as an adult, I can understand the game better but I still don't find it fun.

Any chance some of you Vectrex lovers could scan some manuals? I have my own thread here... http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/169702-wanted-vectrex-manual-scans/page__fromsearch__1
Anyways, I think the Vectrex is a great machine, I wish I owned one.

Given the way you type, I can hazard a guess you don't have the money or have to ask for money to buy it.
Oh I have the money... I just imagined it being an add on like Sega32x.
Heh nothing like that, it is a cart that will allow you to load the roms and play the entire 2600 library on your console.
They only difference is you do not need each and every individual cart, you can try everything and see what you like before committing to tracking down/buying the original cart and you can even play originally unreleased and Homebrew titles, where the ROM is available of course.I recently find the combo of my 2600 Jr. and my Harmony cart to be an incredible gaming combo, such fun!
I believe they were talking about the Supercharger (which kind of is an add-on) and you responded by talking about the Harmony cart...
Fujifruit can correct me if I am wrong.
Edit: I did just see where the Harmony cart came into the conversation. My bad.

Thanks again!

It's neither Pepsi nor Coke, in the US, but a third company (Dr. Pepper/7up Inc.)
Correct. They are currently known as "Dr Pepper Snapple Group" but in parts of the world (and different parts of the US) their products are licensed to both Coke and Pepsi...

Just noticed pages 2-3 are missing....

You're the best! Maybe Al can add them to the site too....

Maybe you've already been there but I would suggest visiting http://arcadecontrols.com/arcade.htm
Their forums are full of great info....

No real hurry. Thanks for doing it.

Super Awesome!

Does anyone have (or can make) scans of the "Double Dragon V" manual? Thanks in advance.

and really I don't even care for Genesis. The only thing they had going was sports games. Booooooooooring.
The Genesis has a load of great games, and almost none of them are sports games.
Out of the 737 games released in the US, 163 are sports games (by my count). Here is the breakdown...
38 Football
15 Hockey
27 Baseball
10 Boxing
29 Basketball
12 Golf
15 Soccer
8 Olympic
1 Rugby
8 Tennis
1 Volleyball
1 Bowling
7 Wrestling
The only other category of game to have numbers that big is the "side scrolling platform" games (they are pushing 200). Nothing else compares...
RPG 33
Racing 34
Puzzle 13
Scrolling Shooter 46
Strategy 22

...which is not free, since you'd need a Rapidshare subscription to download it.
You only need a RS account for files over a certain size (200mb IIRC).
