I remember having some Atari Canada catalogues and price lists that referred to "White Water Madness" and/or "Wood and Water Rage".
Anyone know anything about these games? Were they supposed to turn into "Toobin" from Atari Games?
I don't know anything about the games, but I know if you type in "atari 7800" in Half.com, they say there are a bunch of games that are "out of stock" that were never actually made for the 7800. Such as "Wood And Water Rage", Elevator Action, The Eidilon, Gauntlet, even Super Mario Bros. There's more too, if you check it out....some I've never even heard of at all - "Pyromania"? It's a tease. I wish all of those games had been made. Here's the link....go through the other pages too.

I wonder if Billy or Steve from "King Of Kong" have ever played this version. If not we should challenge them.

Whichever one has the highest vote by Monday morning on the 23rd becomes the game of choice for Round 7.
That's a tough choice. I hope we get to do the high score club for all of the games listed in this poll at some point....

It seems like it still presses down and pops back up like normal, but just doesn't work. Anybody have this happen before, and can anyone offer potential solutions - preferably simple and non-threatening to the system? It's fine for all 7800 games, as the fire button suffices, but for most 2600 games you need the reset button to start or restart the games. As you are all aware. I'm all ears to any advice and thanks much.

I beat it with this score. Using a pro-line, I experimented with a few different controllers for this, pro-line by far the best. Nintendo controller great as well, which is what the last high score was used with (no emulators here) but not as sharp with this game. Almost. Psyched for the new NES controller I ordered as part of the 25th anniversary package, should be great. If only he would make one of those for the 5200. But anyway, here's the score, and I think we were all hoping some more people would participate in this contest.....the lowest turnout I've seen in a while....you guys are the aces here, I must have gotten lucky on this one. I'm ready for the next one now. When's the poll start?

Guess I will start us off with this one.....

The Ultimate Challenge.
Twin brothers Billy and Jimmy Lee learned to fight the
hard way -- for survival in the unforgiving city streets.
Their brand of combat -- classic martial arts maneuvers
mixed with anything-goes street brawling -- has turned
them into walking lethal weapons.
Now, the Lees must summon all their fighting abilities and
cunning into meeting the greatest challenge of their lives
-- rescuing Billy's girlfriend, Marion. She's been kidnapped
by the Black Warriors, the savage street gang led by
the mysterious Shadow Boss.
The twins pursue the Black Warriors through the city
streets and its outskirts. Finally they fight their way into
the Secret Enemy Base. There, Billy and Jimmy meet the
Shadow Boss. It's a battle to the finish, with Marion as the
prize!
(In this scenario, for the HSC, Jimmy is on vacation and Billy is on his own.)
Emulators are fine as is whatever controller you feel the most comfortable with. Screenshots are great
but not mandatory. Please do not use any cheat/hack options. These include auto-fire, unlimited lives,
invincibility, etc.

Damn. well this is 44000. I tried and tried, and I have no idea how you got pole position. Must be under 60 seconds. I had 60'14 and I came in third. Best I could get was third. I'll try some more, but nice work.
Thanks! 58'45 is definitely my best time. This is also the first time I've had 60 Units remaining. I'd say about about 25% of the time I come in 2nd. I just kept resetting the game after qualifying until I got the Pole. Probably a good 30 tries!

Not sure if this means anything, but I do these things on a real 7800 with pro-lines. Not sure if the computer would mean the same thing, with emulators and such.
Not really... Your hand might cramp quicker than mine. It plays the same on my 7800. I'm using MacMESS with Logitech Precision gamepad. I *could* use my 7800, but my Prolines are pretty well shot, so I would either be using my converted NES pad or a CX-40. I emulate (even when I own the game) because I usually play when my wife and I are watching TV at night and for the ease of screenshots.
Those pro-line controllers don't cramp my hand, I've always liked them, and they have for the most part worked well for me. They catch a lot of flack, but seem to be fine for me. I wish the 5200s were like that.

EDIT: WOW, roadrunner, I think we stopped at the exact same spot! I think I may have qualified a bit better accounting for the difference in score.

Hmm.. i can't remember where i qualified, either 5th or 6th. I don't think i ever qualified higher than 4th at Suzuka.
I don't think i'll get a better score, i didn't crash at all, and i just barely made it to the start finish line at the end of lap 2.
I wonder if we'll race the SeaSide track next season.

Payment sent for a Maxpad
if anybody wants to back out on a system Id like to get one of those Too
Just discovered that my reset button isn't working on my 7800. Hurts for a lot of 2600 games. Regardless, it gives me an excuse to want one of your new consoles. I'll pay entirely up front if you want, if anyone has backed out or you can fit # 26. I didn't want one originally, but this button not working on my one that I've had for 25 years, just lets me say "get it". Anyway, I see that none are available, but I'm ready to pay immediately if you are game to make one more. Thanks.

Three if slots left for the 'IF' 11 - 25 consoles, but lots of Max pads. For those who are not familiar they are small but the epitome of comfort for classic game play.

Imagine this in silver and blue, and working with your 2660 / 7800...
AX
I'm down for one of these blasters if I can. Thanks!

gyruss_high_score_pic.bmpFirst try back, in a long time. Hope to crush this one, this game is one of the all time greats, and the 5200 version is fun as hell. Try a Wico Pro stick - or a stock stick, they both are working great for me.
I scored 142,550. More to come.

We'll give it another week (until 24th of July) and then we'll move on to the next poll. Come on all 7800 RPG fans! All scenario submissions welcome. How about every goal the main character runs upon - there is a boss or master or dragon or whatever he has to defeat - with each boss needing to be defeated in different ways. Every Goal. Bosses getting increasingly more difficult not just on the levels, but every goal he comes upon. Suddenly. Again, not just on the end of the level - but upon every goal You collect a piece of gold - you fight the dude - maybe they aren't so hard - but it's action nonetheless that gets harder as you go - And then the big boss at the end of each level. Keeps the normal action of the 7800 intact while it provides a great RPG with a solid goal. But not to take away from the RPG aspect of the game, but to still utilize the 7800 for more action to play side by side with the RPG. I dunno....obviously....
Alright, stupid idea. But just thinking of fun that the 7800 could handle.
Don't hate me

The "Best Lightgun" from Best Electronics is considerably more accurate than the Atari lightgun.Mitch
Thanks Mitch, I knew I had read that somewhere before. I will get one.

I'd be psyched for a cart for this, of course. Thanks so much to the community again for developing on this system, it's really inspiring and completely awesome. I play my 7800 way more than the wii, and wayyyy more than the 360.....
