  1. How about every goal the main character runs upon - there is a boss or master or dragon or whatever he has to defeat - with each boss needing to be defeated in different ways. Every Goal. Bosses getting increasingly more difficult not just on the levels, but every goal he comes upon. Suddenly. Again, not just on the end of the level - but upon every goal You collect a piece of gold - you fight the dude - maybe they aren't so hard - but it's action nonetheless that gets harder as you go - And then the big boss at the end of each level. Keeps the normal action of the 7800 intact while it provides a great RPG with a solid goal. But not to take away from the RPG aspect of the game, but to still utilize the 7800 for more action to play side by side with the RPG. I dunno....obviously.... Alright, stupid idea. But just thinking of fun that the 7800 could handle. Don't hate me
  2. Thanks Mitch, I knew I had read that somewhere before. I will get one.
  3. 172,000. I think I better buy a new light gun from Video 61 or something, this one is just strange in it's aim.....hard to be accurate when the gun isn't exactly shooting what you are pointing at....
  4. Not even one comment about my stupid signature at the end of my last post? I was hoping to hear some funny shit ripping me apart. Oh well. I hope they do release those roms, I mean c'mon. Christ on a crotch. Glove, Joe Blutony
  5. No question. Shawn is absolutely right. Of course, all of them. Anybody involved with this site would definitely want to see all of those listed, and many others, for the 7800. You didn't even list a wrestling game!
  6. I don't think the 5200 is dead. It's as alive as ever, like the 7800, with new games coming out and hard working programmers who make nothing busting their ass to put out great new games, and if people bitch about the controls, they need to be explained to that it's like house rules. The 5200 is fun, and moving that joystick around is half the originality of the 5200. Hilarious. So you have to deal with your joystick, cuz so does the other guy. Anyhoo, shit yeah, somebody release those ROMS. I have the programmable multi-cart, but those games were never available (mentioned previously) - and I want to play them shits. I'll donate to the cause, whatever it takes, I highly doubt they will make cartridges of them all. Thanks, Elephant Butthair Sandwich
  7. 48,620. Gotta hit the hay....i tried again and couldn't beat that....
  8. Where the hell have you been? Christ, I had always relied on your reviews to see what the REAL DEAL is, and you just dropped off the face of the earth. Since you have been gone, PacMacPlus and others have been killing some arcade repros and there have been some epic releases, each of which I was fully expecting you to review, with flying colors cuz they kick ass. I mean, like others have said, Plutos, Sirius, Super Pac-Man, now Jr. Pac-Man, M.I.A, Space Invaders, etc....we are talking some really good shit here, and one of the all time stalwarts/supporters/backers has dissapeared into thin air. Well, hope you can come back and get into it again, cuz the 7800 is flourishing again like never before. Thanks to all the programmers and hard work from the community, let's keep this raging because the system is just proving that it was and is one of the best and will continue to be from a grassroots standpoint for the long term. These programmers are really putting out some quality stuff, and hopefully will continue to branch out in all sorts of genres of games. What's even better is that they keep on reaching out to this community for feedback and updates to see what people want, what people think of current progress, and when to pull the trigger on releases. We couldn't ask for more and I wish there was more we could do to thank the tireless work that these guys do. Cuz' the games are kicking some serious ass and bringing inspiration back to old school gaming. 7800 - The new old school.
  9. Wow - thank you so much for the extremely kind words. I just love doing this. I sincerely wish I could program these games for a living. Short of my (lack of a) music career, this is the thing I would love to do. ...and here is the PDF Manual. Great again Bob! Was there a PDF Manual to Super Pac-Man, assumedly in a different link? Or did I miss it? Nice rocking, once again. Thanks, thursday83
  10. Bob, can't say enough about how awesome this work of yours is. Spot on graphics, great gameplay, no glitches, great in-between stage sequences, great difference in the speed in the difficulty switch, just an all around spectacular work - it's way better on my console than on the emulator, worth 10x the price, if not more. This is a great example of the capability and fun this system can provide, allowing somebody to put all of their efforts and soul into their art. Just a fantastic all around package, and so entertaining to play. You did such an amazing job with Super Pac-Man, but this is over the top and just blazing by any cartridge ever made for the system. So killing. Nice work, and we all can't thank you enough for your contribution to this community. Hopefully you will continue making games, whether it be arcade ports - I won't name the ones I would like to see because I know now that whatever you make will be quality - or original homebrew work - rest assured you don't rush things and put all the time and effort into it as if you were working for Atari back in the day. That said - I'd love to see somebody do a GOOD wrestling game for the 7800 - MMC and Title Match are just embarrassing representations of what could be good games if someone concentrated on moves and gameplay. Bob - the master, the ruler, the man - great work and continue on your path of greatness. Give it up to Bob, everyone. You should be able to sell 1000 of these games, they are so good. Best, thursday83
  11. I would love one and thanks for programming on the 7800. Cheers. Count me in for one for sure. Thanks.
  12. I would love to contribute to the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Atari 7800 with pleasure. Please put me down for both, I'll pay whenever you say. I side with the programmers on this one because as a consumer, hobbyist, and fan of what they do, I am excited to know that there are games in development, and that alone is good news for us who enjoy the system and what it has to offer. Thanks guys.
  13. How about ATARI games beaten since this is the ATARI forum? I'd go on the NES forum or whatever, if I wanted to hear that Super Mario Bros. 2 was beaten. Who's with me? If not, pubes to that.
  14. I have a copy of this game. They could have done such a much better job with it, the potential is there, and the game falls flat unfortunately. It's not even worth putting in the system. After several tries, it's just too hard to stay alive, and the control is not exactly well thought out. It's dissapointing, as Combat 2 could have easily had some progressive elements implemented into it's simple layout, and this seems like a rush job with no positive outcome. If this is in fact the "Combat 2" for the 7800, entitled Combat 1990. I've also called Video 61 and spoke with the owner at length before, he is completely knowledgeable and super cool to talk to about anything Atari. But you gotta call him. Someone could make a cool combat game for the 7800, with one player levels that actually progress and make it enjoyable for the player to move on stage by stage with a goal.
  15. 78650. Was hoping to shatter that record, but that's all for tonight...
  16. Darn it. Is there an adaptor that will allow you to play the emulated games on a cpu 7800 style - I.E. with both buttons? So with all these ROM's, etc....you can't play them on your cpu properly? Other than with the keyboard? Just making sure, that's too bad if so. At least Jr. Pac Man doesn't need buttons....
  17. Perhaps I haven't read far enough into it's description, but I would l like to get one of these for the ProSystem 7800 Emulator to use - but can't seem to find out if it's going to be functional with 2 buttons as 7800 controllers are. Question is, for the games that use 2 buttons, is this adapter going to support the regular 7800 controller's 2 buttons when I use the emulator for the two button games? Thanks, try to hit me back with an answer ASAP.
  18. Ha Ha Ha..pwoned!!! Not once does the jet fly through and attempt to bomb the chopper on that video. Am I the only one that happens to?

Playing it tonight, I just can't seem to imagine how anyone can rescue all the people. Am I crazy or is this totally impossible? Seem like it just isn't going to happen after 22 years. Do I give up? Never any luck, some plane or tank always seems to blast me no matter how quick I try to be. Let me know....
  20. It really leaves much to be desired when the home page hasn't been updated with some sort of news since January 31. How are we to be inspired when there is no new news? Ok, hoping for some new 7800 developments and some new announcements soon, that we can all be excited for....thanks...
  21. Has anyone made it to the third pond, which is past the fat broad with the club at the first pond, up the hill, over the second pond with the stork, and then down the hill, and then comes the third pond and I fall in every time. What am I doing wrong here? Is this game unfinished?
  22. Desert Falcon is great, and if you are comparing it to Zaxxon, see how long you last on the 5200 Zaxxon compared to the fun and challenging game you are going to get out of the 7800 Desert Falcon. Great game, he is right, the reviews are wrong and this one is a winner, with an obvious objective and easy controls. And the 7800 controller is fine for this one.
  23. I just started playing it and thought it was fun. The Robots look great, the first group I encountered were not to bad, lots of timing to be done. I really like how the main character jumps. I was playing without looking at the manual so things were a bit confusing, but I will take a look at that soon. I agree with Atarifever, I also have a fixed version on cartridge, and I don't actually think I would ever know if it's actually fixed because I can never get far enough regardless due to the robots and whatever else....I try and try, for years now....And it's a fun and great game that gets lots of mileage, but I doubt I'll ever see the day that I can beat it. With the time factor, and the robots, and putting together the puzzle, ugh, I just can't seem to hack it at this game. Another quick poke at the game: I just wish that they would have added the human voice of "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh" when he fell down the hole like the C64 version does, that is what made me love this game when I was a kid anyway, in addition to the front flip jump.
  24. Just played it once, not sure if this is any good or not, but 112750, round 16.
