1. Out of the blue I received my replacement issue for #212 today. I requested it months ago but there was no date on the envelope so I have no idea when it shipped. It did however ship from France.

I’m still missing 213+ as well as 209. I went ahead and requested every issue I haven’t received to be resent again. Since there is zero communication I have no idea if I’ll ever get them. So frustrating. atariage_icon_sad.gif

  2. I have Printer Boy covers for all my consoles and they are great. I’d recommend the vinyl ones over the polyester, which feels more like windbreaker material. I’ve had trouble in the past with wrong items being shipped, and having to wait another two months for replacements. But they have been solid on my last couple orders.

One thing I have noticed recently is that some of their covers fit nice and snug, while others are a bit on the loose side. They still look great and are some of the best dust covers I’ve used.

Pro tip: There is also a US seller on Etsy that sells a lot of these for Printer Boy, but without the two month wait.

  3. I have not received anything since Issue 211.

I finally gave up and sent an email today requesting for them to cancel my subscription and issue a refund.  They can blame global shipping conditions all they want, but I don't have this same issue with any of the other magazines I receive from the UK.

This whole situation is frustrating. I did eventually receive #211 but nothing since. I even requested replacement issues but haven’t got anything. I have gotten a few Kickstarter packages from the UK without issue.

Post back about how the refund goes since I’ve been thinking of doing the same.

  4. This has SOLD. Thanks!

For sale is the first version of the Lynx Gamedrive flash cart by SainT. It’s the cased version that AFAIK will only work with a model 2 Lynx system due to fit. It includes a 512 MB MicroSD card as pictured, which is plenty big enough for the entire Lynx library.

$60 shipped within the US, or best offer. PayPal preferred.

  5. I do believe that since he seemingly can beat the price and terrible slow boat from China pricing.  As i said before, I wish someone could do Sim City NES.  IT uses the MMC5, just not sure which game would have to get killed.  Castlevania III, Laser Invasion, or one of those expensive KOEI titles.

The Everdrive N8 Pro plays Sim City as well as Gaplus and Pac-Mac CE in case you didn’t know. That might be a better investment than bootleg Chinese cartridges.

  6. I picked up a Brand new boxed Jaguar off Best Electronics about 6 years ago for $299US. Now they are $599US. Had I have known that I would have bought two back then lol. They were also selling Jag CDs for the same price...

This is how I got my Jag CD as well. At the time I remember thinking the price was high but going for it anyway. :D Also there were sellers on eBay selling new old stock Jag CD games at a reasonable prices too. I was able to put a collection together pretty easily. There is no way I could justify doing this now with current prices tho.

  7.
I get mine from Amazon pretty much exclusively.  Haven't received a fake yet (AFAIK), but if I do they've at least got a rock-solid return policy.

That’s where I get mine too. Just be sure you buy one actually from Amazon and not a third party seller just to be safe.

Best sells OEM POKEY chips. Not sure if they are NOS or not, but I also have purchased one from Best and it works fine.

This is good to know, thanks for the info.  I'm going to hold off getting one until the Concerto gets into a working state tho.  Hopefully they'll still be in stock!  :)

  9. I sent Fred my CPU that was found to be having issues with the Concerto (menu working, but games not loading at all).  Hopefully it will help him figure out some of these issues.

This has been my problem too. Hopefully he can figure it out.

  10. Someone else reported this same issue to me. The funny screen shows that some of the data gets loaded a byte behind where it should be in memory. Since the nature of the bug is known, a fix shouldn’t take too long.

That’s good to hear, I eagerly await the fix. Thanks batari!

  11. schnuth did you clean the cartridge connector?  worked for the gargled issues i had.  other carts worked fine with the dirty connection but concerto had some issues

I did try cleaning my console. Just to make sure I just cleaned it again and I’m still having the same issues. Thanks for the suggestion tho!

  12. I got my Concerto today. I was able to get the bios upgraded to 0.95 no problem after downloading the software and drivers to my PC and booting the cart in my 7800.

However I can not get anything to load, and if it does load it’s glitched pretty badly (with accompanying high pitched shrieks) or displays garbled. Mostly it freezes between 50 - 90% while loading or displays a black screen. I’m using Trebors ROM pack. I haven’t tried loading any 2600 games.

I’ve tried a variety of SD cards with the same results: brand new Sandisk Ultra 32gb microsd (used this one to update BIOS), older Kingston 1 & 2gb SD cards (Concerto would not recognize the 1gb card), Kingston 1gb microsd, Promaster 1gb SD, and a Sandisk 32gb SDHC.

I’ll post a couple pictures of the garbled games as well as a pic of my console’s serial number. It’s been modded for composite video by Video 61 in case that’s significant.

    Thanks!

  13. Albert nm found my email, my subject was "Re: New Contact Request: Jaguar GD" and you replied adding me to the list. I guess I PM'd you or something, maybe there was a different process then? It also wasn't from Google. April 23.

That’s the email I got too, but mine is dated April 24. So I must’ve missed this first batch. No worries, I’ve been waiting this long what’s a few more weeks? :D

  14. I now added the right 012.bin file too. The old one was wrong as I forgot to reverse the bits.

Excellent, thanks a lot. I tried an Intellivoice game and wondered what was going on. atariage_icon_mrgreen.gif

What do I search to find the NT Mini files on Internet Archive?  I have tried NT Mini of course..

If you search NT Mini Noir both eewoke’s Intellivision pack and the font pack come up. Sorry for not mentioning that before.

I also haven’t been able to find the Odyssey2 Voice files with the proper working checksums yet. Has anyone found these?

  15. Forgive me, but what is the point of using a flash cart, which loads ROM files, when you have a jail-break, which can load the same files more directly? Does the Everdrive (N8 I presume) have some advantage, like better extended audio or other custom chip support that some real games might have used? If that is the reason I can understand that, otherwise it seems redundant.

I have other Famicom systems I like using besides my NT Mini. So it’s nice to keep all my saves in one place no matter how I play. Plus I don’t think the NT Mini does save states either. Until a couple weeks ago I didn’t have any other way of playing NES games except my N8 on original hardware.

I have an N8 Pro which plays some games the jailbrake won’t. The fan translation of SD Gundam Knight for instance, but I haven’t tried it with the new JB firmware yet. I would’ve said FDS games too, but that’s been added. :)
