  1. Ahh... For some reason, I thought the Hokey was included...
Guess I'm gonna be taking that ballblazer cart apart. My A800 is keeping hers Pokey.

How difficult is it to remove a Pokey from a Ballblazer? It’s not socketed by any chance is it? I don’t have a desoldering station, is it doable with an iron and a desoldering braid? I haven’t removed anything delicate like this before, but I’ve repaired a few Genesis 2 reset switches.

  2. I'll keep posted during the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) for the next batch to be put out, then I'll have all the time to snag one up, if that's what it takes then so be it I'll do it.

....and in case that doesn't work out I'll try next week as I have already asked my work to take next Wednesday off unpaid (mainly due to my SSDI-mandated salary cap issues) but also so I can finally get one, as I can't wait to premiere the all-new 7800 Edition of The Atari Report either in January (hopefully) or February along with the 8-Bit Edition of TAR.

This is why God created smart phones and bathroom breaks.

  3. I got mine as well, and can confirm it is working.   Sean from Pie Factory Podcast and 7800 Homebrew Podcast and I were chatting, and he got his e-mail as well.

I should’ve mentioned I got an email notification as well. Thanks a lot!

  4. Sega Saturn question - I'm enjoying the MODE greatly, but simply would like to know about plugging/unplugging controllers SAFELY while the system is on- SPECIFICALLY pertaining to alternative controllers. I snagged some light guns for instance, but cannot navigate an ODE menu so easily with a trigger and start button. If playing alone, I have tested "House of the Dead" with a gamepad in player one control port and a lightgun in player two. Am I ok with launching a game with a gamepad and hot-swapping to a wheel or gun controller or is there a better way?

I don’t think hot swapping controllers will hurt anything. Could you launch a game with the second controller while keeping the gun plugged into the first port?

  5. Has anyone figured out exactly what files you need to get Intellivision games running on the jailbrake? I’m confused about this INTV2 file format that the Noir needs. Could someone gently nudge me in the right direction?

Besides Intellivision I’ve been able to get mostly everything else running. I haven’t been able to find the exact files it needs for Odyssey 2 speech games tho based on the checksums in the jailbrake documentation.

  6. Is the Analogue 8 still a thing? After the Duo's announcement, I thought it was just a passing trademark that fell in the proverbial crack. Did Kevtris or someone else at Analogue confirm that the Analogue 8 and the Analogue Duo are not one and the same?

They let the Analogue 8 trademark expire earlier this year. Since they never made a formal announcement it’s anyone’s guess.

But as others have said, I suspect we’ll see a stripped down NT at some point.

  7. I've received issues 208 and 209 (both badly damaged), and yesterday I got 210 and 211. Never got 206 and 207 and there's no way to request those issues from the site.

    What's the current issue?

I’m missing issues 209, and 211+. It looks like 213 is the current issue in the UK from what I’ve been able to ascertain.

  8. I haven’t received any subscription copies since issue 205 as well. I was sent two replacement issues when I contacted them, and they showed up fine after a couple months. I tried contacting them again last week via their new website, but haven’t heard back yet.

I recently finished my run of Retro Gamer a few weeks ago, so hopefully all my missing issues will show up okay. I did order a few new issue binders which came in just fine, so there’s hope yet.

I don't have a picture sadly this was years ago and i would try it but i feel like i would damage it. :)

If you're not doing any hardware mods, just modding it to play emulators and homebrew, there are some very good guides that will walk you through it.  If I can pull it off anyone can.  :)

  10. Turns out it was not a ps vita it was a psp go he basically took everything apart in put a bigger lcd in and other things.

That sounds crazy, have a picture?

For the most part a PSP is pretty easy to mod in this day and age. Be sure to search for a recent guide and you’ll be good.
