The colored wire of the floppy ribbon should be connected to the right of the drive. Please put a picture of the HxC lcd with a selected HFE to confirm or not the issue.

Have you see the batch converter window into the software ? Have you see the Linux & Amiga version of the software ? Have you see the various shortcut available into the Amiga file selector ? Have you see that there is HxC emulators with LCD screen ? It seems that you just take the longest way possible here

There are a little surprise : The SD HxC Floppy Emulator can be see as an hard disk with the proper HardDisk driver . The Menu selector software used this feature to access the FAT32 partition of the SDCard. So the SD HxC FLoppy Emulator as an hard disk is possible.
