I've never seen it before, but it's pretty impressive !!!! i've played it for over an hour ! I think the screen that Allas is showing is the last one, can't pass that...
Why is it never finished ???? It looks and play's superb !

Did you already rescued some other disks ?

it's Been a long time ago since i've been here... I was a bit out of atari...but my intrest is getting back
.at the end of 2002 until early 2003 I was trying to make some sort of impossible mission clone. it's still unfinished, and since i don't have the feelings to finish it, I thought it would be nice to post it here.
the game idea is somehow almost thesame as original, you search in the rooms threw the furniture for pieces of the secret code to save the world.
for testing purposes all pieces of code are spread in room one (and room 2 depending on the number of furniture in room 1)
to search in the furniture, press joystick 'up'.
but there is still no way to finish the game
well, let me hear what you think of it

some time ago I bought a falcon...it's a really great machine...but sooo incompatible ! And lot's of games require RGB or tv instead of a vga monitor.
I tried backward 3, some more (tos) games/applications work, but i can't get the addams family to work on it (my favorite)..sad.
I don't understand why atari made such a incomptatible machine, with so many great st games.

To put an other 8K game in will be no problem...I don't know if missile command have's it's own rom ? or is the game in another rom with OS or something ?
you could put in a big eprom with 16 8K games (256KB eprom)and use dip switches to select the game.
a menu driven thing is a lit more complex to do...

WOW That's a machine !!!!
I think it's an 130 XE (or 65/800XE) with a pc in one tower !
That some great stuff
How is it done with the monitor ? is the atari also switchable connected to a (s)vga pc monitor ?

Yeah ! it's a fantastic project !!! I e-mailed hem about a week ago.... but he has to serve the military....
@ maarten, you're webpage is great ! and you have some good st programming tutorials on your page !
I still have a question since I have a falcon computer..
I still need some help with doom/heretic/quake...i just can't get them to work....
I want to play doom and heretic....
http://membres.lycos.fr/pmandin/en/ports.html
Heretic and doom say:
W_Init: Init WAD files.
Error :W_initfiles : no files found
and it quits...I have some WAD files in the directory.
how can i get this to work ?
Thanks, Thelen

Finally, I have an atari falcon 030 ! This is such a spectaculair machine !!
now i have some questions...
- how can I get multitos on my falcon, now i have just a standard tos, and when i open an application you can't do anything else. there is a folder on the c drive with the name multitos, but there are 6 applications in, a clock.app and lines.app, these work. the other ones give a error like miniwin.app :requires multiTOS...
-can I go out and buy a scsi cdrom drive and connect it to the external scsi port, will that work ?
-what is the maximum size for an internal IDE 2.5'' HD ?
-I still need some help with doom/heretic/quake...i just can't get them to work....
Heretic and doom say:
W_Init: Init WAD files.
Error :W_initfiles : no files found
and it quits...I have some WAD files in the directory.
how can i get this to work ?

An 800 xe board will fit precisely(when looking from the outside of the mega case).
if you hold the 800 xe board in front of the mega st case, you will see that there are on the left and right about 0.5 centimeter is left...
post some pics when you're project has some progress !

Great idea ! but I think it won't fit because the board of an 800 xl is too wide for the case...

Anybody seen this webpage ? http://membres.lycos.fr/pmandin/en/ports.html
very cool ports of doom, heretic, hexen and quake !
But now the big question : are those playable on my mega atari STE ? if not, what do i need then ? I've downloaded a zip packet, and there's a ttp file in it....that's an executable for my ste....but after loading a while, it jumps back to tos.... I have no idea how I can get this game working with the WAD files etc.. and when starting the ttp file I get the message : parameters ?
Thanks,
Thelen
