Cybermorph is the only black cart right? Maybe only the first 50,000 copies of Cybermorph. It seems that the majority of the 3rd party games are the ones without the Atari logo. The ones published by TWI, 21st Century, Williams, Telegames, 4Play, etc. My copy of Syndicate has the Atari logo though and that was published by Ocean.

I'll second what Clock said earlier. My wife isn't much of a gamer, but she loves to play Dead or Alive: Xtreme Beach Volleyball. She digs all the collecting stuff and spends the majority of the game in the casino. She also loves a good puzzler every now and then. Klax on my Lynx and ST, Sega Swirl on my Dreamcast, The Next Tetris and Ballistic on the Nuon and Flip Out! on my Jaguar. She totally rocks at Flip Out! and smokes my arse. I wish she liked FPS games, for some co-op Halo goodness.

An Xbox version with the Atari logo on it. At least for me, since I don't own a GC. Oh ya, since I'm dreaming here, Xbox Live support for the Ikaruga world ranking system and two player co-op.

I guess DracIsBack answered my Summer Games question. -
quality of 7800 games compared to 8-bit computer
AtariX replied to Shannon's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
The Atari 8-bit easily has the best overall library compared to the 7800. All the great cart and disk games from Atari, EA, Sega, Parker Brothers, Activision, Datasoft, Epyx, SSI, Microprose, Big Five, Mindscape, Lucasfilm, Infocom, Access, etc. That being said, I do prefer the 7800 versions of Centipede and Asteroids. The graphics are more colorful and to me, the gameplay seems smoother. Two player co-op Asteroids and Centipede also put the 7800 versions over the top and are extremely fun. I would also rather play 7800 Pole Position II over 8-bit Pole Position any day of the week as well. Sometimes the 7800 did make a dog of a conversion though. The gameplay and control in the 8-bit versions of Karateka and Choplifter just smoke the 7800 versions. 7800 Karateka is almost unplayable. Did the 7800 version of Summer Games skimp on some of the events and music and award cerimonies, when compared to the 8-bit version? I have neither. -
Crime Busters has the best graphics of all of the Atari 8-bit lightgun games that I have played. It is also fun to play. I think it requires 64k though and it might be kinda hard to find. B&C might have it though.

If you watch T-Bird's posts like a hawk(pun intended ) in here and JI2, then you might get a copy of BSG through a silent auction or if he makes a new batch for sale on the Scatologic site. That is how I got my copy of the original Battlesphere. Then you will have a nice brand new, complete copy of BSG. It will still be expensive, but much more reasonable than $200 or $300.

Now I feel like a gaming god!
AtariX replied to MattG/Snyper2099's topic in Modern Console Discussion
The Best of the Best for XBox(I'm kinda a Sega fan, so I'm a little biased there): Halo(one of the best FPS ever) Dead or Alive 3(Great 3D fighting game) Project Gotham Racing(Best racer on the XB) Silent Hill 2(Survival Horror, XB version has better graphics and a few extras) Gunvalkyrie(excellent 3D shooter, kinda like Space Harrier, but with mind blowing graphics and you can go anywhere, hard though) Morrowind(free roaming American/Euro style RPG, excellent RPG, but super deep and long, 100 to 200 hours long) Dead to Rights(kinda like Max Payne but with more variety) Shenmue II(Adventure/RPG, enhanced over the DC version) Crazy Taxi 3(extreme driving, if you loved the original, you will love this game, includes an enhanced version of CT, the downtown part of CT2, and CT3 in Vegas) The House of the Dead III(Excellent lightgun game, includes HOD2) MechAssualt(Good but kinda short, game becomes excellent if you have XB Live) Splinter Cell(the best military stealth action game out right now) Unreal Championship(Same as MA, good game, but becomes even better with XB Live) Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball(I like this game, very Japanese though, kinda a dating/volleyball/collection/casino type sim game) Panzer Dragoon Orta(excellent 3D shooter with mind blowing super fast graphics, also includes a bunch of side quests and the original Panzer Dragoon) Games to look forward to in the next month or two: Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of War(FPS) Brute Force(3rd person/first person squad based shooter) Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge(Flight Sim shooter) Phantasy Star Online(RPG, only good if you get Xbox Live) Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic(Bioware RPG) -
I think that 99% of Xbox gamers could give a rats arse if Linux runs on the XB. Ya, I'm sure MS will pull the XB because Linux can run on the console.

It is kinda wierd that this seller has all these rare carts with no instruction manuals and boxes and all the carts have ugly tape on top of them.

The movie where the MC takes out the injured Elite with his own sword is on the Making of Halo DVD. Very cool. Bungie actually had to rush Halo near the end of developement, so that they could have it ready for the XB launch date. There were a bunch of things that were not included in Halo that Bungie wanted in the game. There are also a few bugs in the game as well, nothing that effects gameplay though. If you haven't read it yet, this is a cool article about Halo and Halo2. http://www.unlimitedlives.com/special_repo...ec_halo2-1.html

I just finally decided to play this game last Sunday. I don't know why I put it off for so long but I regret it. Sure the game doesn't have much in terms of game play but the music videos are sweet. Atari must have paid a lot of money to get all those good bands music videos. I believe there were several sequels made for other platforms and I believe the code to make a Jaguar version was being worked on. Ya, Vid Grid was/is available for the PC. I remember seeing a Vid Grid Country Music version in stores, for the PC as well. It's too bad that we missed out on that one, I'm sure that could have moved some Jag CD systems.

Skyhammer SE. One that didn't freeze up, so that you could finish the game. There are also some other bugs with the number of enemies, enemy AI and the missions that need to be fixed. Alien vs Predator CD, that was mentioned by Atari. I’d want a scantily clad Winona Ryder in it as well, since we had to wait so long for the game. Raiden II. Close to arcade perfect port. Finish up the Highlander Trilogy. Improved character models. Wolfenstein 3D: Spear of Destiny. This game is already done, just needs to be ported to the Jag. I'd want bug free deathmatch and co-op as well.

I have the "Making of Halo" DVD that you could get from Bungie if you ordered the Halo Soundtrack from them. That has the Mac Expo footage and when the XB version was first shown at the 2001 Game Developers Con. There is also a cool 5 to 10 minute Halo movie, the one where the Master Cheif takes out two Elites with a sniper rifle at the begining of the movie. There is also a bunch of screen savers, desktop themes, artwork and interviews....all very cool. No Brute Force footage though. Is there any Halo 2 footage on the Ultimate Halo DVD? BTW, Brute Force looks like it is going to turn out really well. Microsoft had the lead tester from Halo be the lead tester in Brute Force, so that he could work his magic. After he is done on Brute Force, he will get back to work on Halo 2 and help tweak and refine the gameplay for that game.

I was always disappointed that the ST version of Star Wars didn’t have in-game music. It is still a fun game though and the Star Wars theme plays at the title screen.

I still use my 1040 STe for word processing and everyday tasks and I don’t even have a HD or one of the newer replacement ST desktops. You will just need to make a desktop accessories disk. Mine has a desktop organizer with an address book, appointments calender, to do list, memo pad, calculator, a screen saver, a breakout type game, printer drivers and a few other things. I can access all this stuff while using my word processor and graphics programs. Just get one of the newer word processors for the ST and you will be fine. I use First Word Plus, ver. 3.20 and that has a spell check, thesaurus, integrated graphics, basic fonts, mail merge and a few other features. There are also a bunch of publishing aids out there, if you want more fonts and other high end features. I use a HP Deskjet 400 to print out my documents, HP Deskjet printer drivers are easy to find and most of the newer word processor programs should have the drivers.

I don't know, I guess my cup is half full. I love old school games on my 2600, 7800, Atari XE, Atari ST, Lynx, Saturn and Jaguar, but I also love the newer games on my Dreamcast and Xbox. To me, games keep getting better, not worse. Panzer Dragoon on the Saturn was great, but man, Panzer Dragoon Orta is way better than the original. Everything has been refined in PDO, the graphics, framerate and the gameplay is deeper. Not only that, but there are tons of cool stuff to unlock, so that the player can find out more about the PD universe and the original PD is also included. You can't beat it. Tempest is great, but come on, I think we can all agree that Tempest 2000 is even better. Metal Gear and Airborne Ranger were cool stealth/action military games back in the day, but Splinter Cell is better in every aspect. Fighting games are the same way. Yie are Kung Fu, Street Fighter II and International Karate Championship were all fun back in the day. Dead or Alive 3 and Soul Calibur though, are just so much deeper and satisfying. Enemy AI has also improved over the year by leaps and bounds and I think that has also really improved games. Wolfenstein 3D is a perfect example. W3-D was fun and all, but the way the enemy reacts differently in almost every single encounter in games such at Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Halo, really adds to the gameplay experience and makes the game so much more interesting. I'll play the classics every now and then, but games just keep getting better and I look forward to the future of gaming.

It has been years since I played Highlander all the way through. I think on the red, green and blue puzzle, it shows what the level of the colors need to be somewhere in that bunker or one bunker close by. You need to tell your brother that you WILL have a new Highlander, or else in the end, there will be only one brother. j/k Stone, way to go, the Dundee's were counting on you. How long have the Dundee's been enslaved now? Your mother died in vain as well, sad.
-
Highlander is one of my fav Jag games. I was bumed when the Jag died an early death and the Highlander trilogy was never finished.

Does Barkley Shut Up and Jam have any sound or music? I was thinking about buying this game at the CGE this year. If there is no sound though, I might buy another Jag game that I don't have.

I'm an anime fan and Celda looks like no anime that I watch. Celda looks more like low budget Saturday morning cartoon fodder, than well crafted, high quality Japanese animation. The high quality Japanese artwork in games such as the new Xenosaga, Final Fantasy X-2 and Panzer Dragoon Orta make Celda look like a joke.

I’m with T-Bird on this one. Nintendo has really been lacking in the graphics and especially the game play department when it comes to the GC. It is as if Nintendo is just trying to make a buck on the same old tired franchises. Mario Sunshine, Wind Waker and the new Kirby game all look and play like N64 games, if it would have been a CD based system. All you have to do is look at software sales of Mario Sunshine and Zelda: Wind Waker and you can see that gamers are growing tired of the same old, same old, stuff from Nintendo. The new Zelda was in and out of the Japanese top 20 in a blink of an eye. Mario Sunshine is one of the worst selling main Mario games of all time. Gamers are growing tired of the weak sauce that Nintendo has been brewing lately. This same topic is being talked about in the Modern gaming section as well. This Nintendo fan said it well: “So I got Wind Waker (Surprised I haven't heard more "Wind Wanker" jokes...) And, just like Metroid, it's cool but I'm not that enthralled with it. It's not capturing my attention nearly so much as GTA:VC (and GTA3 for that matter) And I think I know why; with Metroid (not truly Miyamoto, I know) and Link, they feel like they have big worlds to explore, but when you get right down to it, they're *incredibly linear* (though I heard Wind Walker has a big period near the end of tedious triforce gathering.) These games are just a series of puzzles and bossmonster fights, with a lot of walking and smaller combats in between. Once my friend and I beat Metroid Prime (and to be fair my friend was driving more often than I was) I had no inclination to put the disc back in and give it another whirl. I had seen close enough to everything there was to see, gathered all the powerups and upgrades, beaten everything. I'm pretty sure the same thing will happen with the new Zelda...... ....And Vice City and Liberty City feel a lot more like real worlds, and not just because they're "real life"...yeah, cars and pedestrians don't last once they're out of eyesight, and it's not like they model a virtual economy or anything, but it's a lot more realistic than Link and Metroid and Mario Sunshine's habit of just putting the same creatures in the same place all the time...... .....*In Zelda the setups are so obvious* (hmmm, a lit torch, some unlit torches, some wood, a box to push) and it's so close to its old school roots that I can live with it, but I don't remember the older Metroid games having quite so many blatant puzzle setups. GTA, on the other hand, everything just flows, there's a lot less that's blatantly there just for the main character to solve, the missions take place in the context of a consistent world. I love Nintendo..... But I think the non-nostalgia future is going to be with games that have both good stories and missions, but in the context of a larger world the player can do non-directed freeplay... I don't think we've seen that from Nintendo.”

You can usually find a Jag-link for cheap on ebay.

I can't wait to get the e-mail saying that I can buy one.

Primal Rage is still playable and up there with Ultra Vortek as the best fighting games on the Jaguar. Compared to other Jag CD games though, Primal Rage has the longest loading times. Still, no where near as bad as some Playstation games though.
