  1. Awesome! That was the problem, I couldn't find anyone who still had them, I thought they'd already stopped offering them for sale to push people into the 360. I'm gonna order one while they still have 'em.
  2. Yeah, have to have one. It's one of the last things it asks you for and you can't continue without it. I had bought one of their kits that came with the microphone and stuff and it included 3 months free and the code. They also had subscription cards with codes on them as well. I checked their website and it just says that for the original xbox you have to "find" a code somewhere but they don't sell them and give no alternate source. Looks like they are already giving up on the original and only putting effort into the 360...until they decide 360 owners aren't worth anything and need to buy the next console.
  3. Okay, I closed my account a couple years ago and now I want to go on there again, but after I went through hell trying to recover my account it ended up just saying "this account is closed, create a new one". The thing is that in order to create a new one I need another unused subscription code and nobody sells them anymore! Anyone know how/where to get one of these that is unused so I can create a new account? And, no, I refuse to buy a 360 because Microsoft is pissing me off so much. Plus they cost way too much $$!
  4. I'd say Halo for the Xbox, all you have to do is run around and shoot. No codes, keys, etc. to look for (like in Doom).
  5. Even though I have been surprised how much I like Lunar (just got it recently) I still don't like RPG games on the whole. Just too slow for me, although I did like Playing the Evolution games on my dreamcast.
  6. I can't remember what show this was but the kids were playing sonic the hedgehog (you could see it on the screen) but all you could hear were super mario brothers music and effects.
  7. What about the TI-99/4a? Technically not a console but if you just use the carts you can basically play it as one. Weren't they like $1500 or something when they first came out? Now there's usually a dozen on Ebay for $.99 opening bid and no one ever bids.
  8. Hey, don't mean to get off topic but I was thinking about the three big systems, anyone think one of them will croak off like Sega did? There is usually only 2 big systems on the market. Although I think they're all doing well (except maybe Sony? I litterally don't know anyone with a PS3) but more competition = less money from me so I'm all for it!
  9. Yeah, I have to agree, now that it's a PS3 v 360 v Wii war, the "old" games for PS2 and Xbox are cheaper than ever. I raid Best Buy every now and then and pick up all the games I can find that are $10 or less.
  10. Wow, I've been out of the computer loop too long, I have no idea what you're talking about! Seeding? Ratio? You make me feel old.
  11. Most of the games on my lists are my favorites because they have many sequels so I am naming the series as a whole. Also, I love my classic games but I don't play them nearly as much as I do the newer games so they get preference. 1. Halo (1&2 so far for me) 2. Tomb Raider (series) 3. Resident Evil (1,2,3,Code Veronica, and the remake for GameCube) 4. Sonic the Hedgehog (Only the games that were on the various sega consoles) 5. GTA (series) 6. Splinter Cell (series) 7. Dino Crisis (dreamcast) 8. Crash Bandicoot (series) 9. Twisted Metal (1, 2, the rest suck) 10. Spyro the Dragon (series)
  12. Finally! It came! Makes me feel like a kid again getting a brand new Sega game for Christmas. Haven't had much time to play it yet but the cart, box and manual all look cool and authentic. Way cool.
  13. It's surprising how much the PS1 games still can go for, I had to pay close to $70 for a copy of Intelligent Qube a while ago. And I'm glad someone else mentioned the Spyro games, kind of kiddie but I love 'em.
  14. I've noticed with Ebay, you're better off not including a console. It's the same effect as when you sell an older computer and "insist" that it include the monitor, most people don't want it and don't want to pay extra shipping, etc. Game lots seem to do better especially if there are few (preferably no) sports titles in there. I have several sports titles and sometimes I feel tempted just to toss them because I don't play them and I know no one will buy them.
  15. Unfortunately I know exactly the types of people who do that stuff to their carts/cds. My cousin's family treated their PSX (this is back when it had just come out) like it was a Tonka toy truck or something, just loose on the carpet and they'd walk by and accidently kick it and step on it, etc. And as for the CD's? I honestly don't know how they kept working, it looked like somebody took an angle grinder to the surface, they would walk on these too! I made the mistake of lending them my Crash Bandicoot game for only six hours!! And they managed to scratch the disc and break the case!! It comes down to people who don't collect games and don't have any appreciation for what they have. It was just the latest toy to them and was soon forgotten and thrown away. I guess you could say it's the same with people who treat their cars like that too, my cars are my babies, but my carts are my babies too, I have lots of babies!!
  16. Oh god, don't even mention the sports games. I was suckered in to buying several for a while under the guise of "collecting" until I realized they all suck and I never play them and don't want to collect them! BTW, anybody know of anyplace that still sells the storage drawers for sega carts? I have a black one I got back in '92 that is perfect and I'd like to find another, it holds 36 carts. Although it drives me crazy that 32x carts are about 2mm too big to fit in it!
  17. I definitely have an appreciation for Sega over other systems, the Genesis was my first real system and I've been hooked ever since. Just got a couple Sega CD units a couple months ago and just got a 32x a week ago and so now I need to expand my collection! Made sure I got two games for sure, Sonic CD and Knuckles Chaotix, I've wanted both of those for years and years. The Dreamcast was a great system! I love MDK2 and the Evolution 1 & 2 games on it. Unfortunately I only have two crappy games for my Saturn so I can't say I think it's great, I need to get some good games.
  18. If ripped properly it will work. Yeah, but using standard disc copying software it won't it since as I said the original disc isn't an ISO complaint CD. That's the problem. I've tried to copy it using a lot of different types of software to no avail. It's my favorite game of all time (hence the screen name) and the day will eventually come when the disc will rot or otherwise lose its readability and I'd like to still be able to play it. I've been playing it a bunch for days now and no freezing up or anything yet!
  19. Um...Just wondering what the status is on the release? It's well into November and I haven't heard or gotten anything yet!! I can't stand waiting!!!
  20. I DID IT!!! Thanks for the tipoff to Alchohol 120% BlackJack! First attempt failed as I know little about all these weird formats and write modes and stuff, but I did some searching and saw that for a "perfect" copy you want to use RAW-DAO write mode, and it worked!!
  21. I have to agree with what some of the others here have said. Paypal is a necessary evil, if all the sellers would quit prefering or usually requiring it, then I would be more than happy to never use them again! But the truth is that you have to look harder and harder to find sellers willing to take alternate payment methods. (And it's NEVER the guy selling that one dream item you just found either!) On the other hand they've been pretty reliable BUT that's only becuase none of my sellers have been deadbeats ...yet. I'm sick and tired of Ebay itself as well, but then again it's a necessary evil as well, good luck finding gems like that at your local GoodWill store, and the competitor auction sites never have anything to offer. A perfect example, I just scored a Genesis 2 with a 32x with a Sega CD with 6 games for $30! The 32x is all I was after when I found it in the vintage games section (had he posted in sega cd it would have went for way more). Not too many good things to be found at the thrift stores anymore, they're all wising up to what they have and charging way more than they ought to.
  22. um...who really cares about any of this? I agree that Sega is in the toilet and so is that broad's career. I don't really see how they ripped her off, no one bought that game! So how was she damaged? You can't just sue for the sake of it, she has to show that they are taking money out of her pocket or are profiting through using her image and from what I've seen all they did was lose money on that game not make it. Besides, Sega could have just weaseled out of it by pulling out the freedom of speech card and said it was satire or something! I can't say there's much a game company could do to make me HATE them, quite frankly, I don't care who they rip off. I just want cheap cool games.
  23. Nobody's stopping you from owning an Xbox AND a 360, ya know? Yeah, and then what happens when my original xbox finally croaks? I have to search around for a used one somewhere adding more cost to my collection when I would much rather toss a disc in my 360 and keep playing. Plus a big factor is SPACE! I don't have room for much more. I admit that I know nothing about programming and hardware and such but it would be worth it to me to pay extra for a daughter board or something to be installed that was an xbox by itself. Same thing with the PS3 a daughter board for playing PS2 games and another board for PS1 games (nowadays the hardware to run a PS1 could fit in a cell phone, so it could easily be an attachment) I could see not making it standard but offer them at a reasonable price as accessories.
