That's a really nice story.

Zaxxon for the Colecovision! I wanted it soooo baaad! It was so close to the arcade version, I was just amazed by the graphics. Unfortunately I never got a Coleco, I bought a ZX Spectrum instead. And yes, I did buy Zaxxon for it, but it was really terrible...

Are you sure the * can be used as a wildcard? I seem to remember that just typing load (or pressing shift + runstop) would load the first program found on the tape. Maybe worth a try...

Thx for the link, I was just about to make a thread about this. I have a bunch of CX40 sticks laying around with one thing in common... yes, you guessed it, broken plastic thingy ...

Main Characters with a voice... Good or Bad?
Han replied to Jasoco's topic in Modern Console Discussion
If it works, great, if it doesn't, not so great . I don't really have an overall opinion about this. I came to think of Blood, I really love the voice over in that game... really adds to the game... -
$50 sounds reasonable ... I don't suppose it would work on a PC? I have been thinking about buying an arcade stick for my MAME for a long time now. But they are usually quite expensive.. Above $100 the ones I found...

Missed that one... I really can't stand Luuk, so I never watch it

I was amazed by the start screen on ET.

Try cleaning it again, I had a similar problem and had to clean it twice to get it to work. It could also be a broken circuit on the controller circuit board. But dirt or a broken wire is more likely, unless you have been beating your controller… hmmm, that sounds kinda rude…

Just sold an Atari ST on eBay, and it arrived faulty. ????

The nr of bombs has a meaning, ask him how many there are. Might give you a clue to what’s wrong... It could be a chip that has come loose from its socket during transport... Unfortunately I haven’t found any really good explanation of what the nr of bombs mean, but check out --> http://www.uni-giessen.de/faq/archiv/csas-...3/msg00000.html -
Curious about Classic Computer Game Carts....
Han replied to Blackjack's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Yeah, I remember them... Most of the carts were made by Psion right? And the interface was called Interface 2 or something. I would love to put my greedy hands on a working Interface 2 and some carts. But I have never seen them in the wild here in Sweden. -
I havent tested it yet, since I don't know the polarity. And I also suspect its dead, there was water inside and it also smells likte somthing is toasted...

Ah ok, never heard of a Famicom basic. But I doubt that the basic is built in here, there seems to be no ROMs on the board. Unless it's integrated in the "CPU" part, they have covered it with black stuff... as usual with Famicom clones

I visited a local flea market today and noticed an odd looking PC keyboard. On closer examination I discovered it had a cartridge slot, A/V & RF Out, a power plug and an keyboard with arabic characters on. So I assumed it was not a PC keyboard and I bought it I have included some pictures, what do you people think it is? It has a 60-pin connector and the inside looks very much like a Famicom clone. It also has two joystick connectors that look like the connectors on some Famicom clones. But why a keyboard? I haven't tried to start it. There were no power specifications on it. Also there was water inside it, so I doubt it works...

Which games caused you to blow your stack the most?
Han replied to Lauren Tyler's topic in Arcade and Pinball
Yupp, seems to be a source of frustration for many people .. I actually killed a keyboard while playing it in MAME on my PC... -
I wonder how many of us found that Yar and never found it again on our own: http://abscape.org/legeek/f_et.htm I don't mean just AtariAge members, I mean everyone out there who played the game. That bugged me for so many years and I bet there are more of us out there. Probably lots of people, we should start a support group

I always thought ET was a pretty ok game. I played it quite a lot as a kid. The sound effects were cool and I was completely amazed by the title screen with the ET face. I also remember finding the flying flower or Yar (or whatever it was) once. It drove me insane that I couldn’t for the life of me find it again. I remember I was much more disappointed with Haunted House, that I got at the same time as ET... Yars 2 sounds excellent....

I found the Yar as well, as a kid. I tried and tried and tried to make it happen again. But I never got it to work again, drove me nuts. I started to believe it was a bug. I wish Internet were around back in those days

Here's how the picture really looked like, before the seller Photoshoped it...
