I thought the second Sam game was better than the first. More cool secrets and just more fun to play. But I have only played the PC version...

It's still pretty unknown in Europe to. But it seems to be getting big in Spain. I have managed to get OS9xGP to run in 160MHz, it seems to be pretty stable. But 166MHz just refuses to work ... I have heard that some people have managed to OC to 200MHz!!? It seems to have to do with what type of RAM you have …

Yes, I have been thinking about a BLU myself. The screen on my nonlit GP is pretty ok, but sometimes it's a bit too dark. Hmm... maybe the next time I am in Hong Kong... It's seems that the BLU is preferable to the FLU ... OS9xGP: Is a pretty cool emulator, a bit on the slow side… I was hoping for full speed here, but it’s still under development. Unfortunately I can’t get my GP32 to run at 166MHz. How about you spongebue? BTW is the GP32 available in US yet? It was launched in Europe a while back…

I have been meaning to buy a GP32 for over a year. But now I finally bought one when I visited Hong Kong earlier this year. And I must say I am pretty happy with it. I was a bit disappointed with some of the emulators available for it; Not very fast, no sound and development has pretty much stopped for some. But then there's the excellent GPEnginge(PC Engine), Castaway (Atari ST) and other emulators. And lets not forget: Pinball Dreams, one of my favourite pinball games ever is available in a GP32 version… Excellent Just curious how many others here have bought one? And how you like it and what you have put on your SMC?

Ratchet & Clank 2: save/delete question
Han replied to bruser_inc's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Yupp, agreed... It's even more stupid when the save files have different names in the game and in the management system. Or worse when all saves are stored in one big file... -
Oh don't worry about that... You will find that out when you actually touch it ... Pretty much don’t touch anything that conducts electricity, and watch out so you don't short circuit anything. In other words don't poke around with the metal end of a screwdriver ... Pretty obvious answer, but you just have to be carfull...

Well, it does sound like you have a bad solder in there somewhere. I have never seen the inside of an Vectrex... come to think of it, I have never actually seen the outside of an Vectrex either, except on photos But check if there is a power transformer on the mainboard, and check if the solder points looks ok. You could also try and carefully tap on the solder points(with a plastic item, not your fingers ) to see if the picture returns. Just be careful so you don’t get an electric shock. You should also check the CRT (the tube) connectrions in both ends... Good luck!

Well, you can always buy a new pin connector. They are very easy to replace. Or you could try and clean the connector yourself, if you are prepared to spend some time with it. I am pretty certain that you will get the other two up and running after a good cleaning. If a connector is in really bad shape use a small file (I use a diamond file) to file each of the pins on the connector and then use Ispopropanol or some similar cleaning alcohol to clean the pins. And also you could try to bend the pins carefully upwards, to make better contact with the carts. With this method I have gotten every single NES to work I have bought, but it does take quite some time to do ...

I went to a flea market way of into the countryside, 4 or 5 miles (metric ) from where I live. I have been there once before, and then I found a badly beaten SNES with Super Mario World for $2.5… and it worked Didn't really expect to find anything... But this time I got really lucky, I found two boxes with C64 stuff, check the pix ... And the really good news is that all of the hardware worked, with some minor repair… Especially happy about the 1571 disk drive… I got it all for $20 … pretty cool ...

The vertical control has probably gone south ... So it’s drawing the entire picture on one scanline... And since it's humming it's probably the transformer that is broken .. or overloaded maybe... could be a short-circuit... but I could be wrong
-
Yupp I have cleaned both the cart and the connector ...
-
Yeah tell me about it ... I never managed to figure it out either, even with the help of the manual. I got sick and tired of it and went surfing instead...

Yupp, the mega drive outputs +5V ... and even RGB it seems.. And the connector is actually standard mini DIN ... so it shouldn't be to hard to find, so you can make your own AV cable… But what about the red screen??

What are the best shoot em up games in ST?
Han replied to doncleth's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
That pretty much sums up my thoughts/experience with it Yeah, I really wanted to like the game.. but there was nothing to hold your interest... apart from the initial weirdness -
What version are you referring to? NES? Isn't there a "proper" ending in the arcade version?

I recently bought a Mega Drive II console at a flea market. Unfortunately the RF modulator seemed to be broken. But finally today I sat down and soldered an AV cable for it. And to my joy I got picture when I tried it with my Sonic 1 cart. But after the initial text appears, the screen turns red and stays that way. s Anyone know what this is about? I think it has something to do with a faulty ROM checksum or something… but I am not quite sure… Unfortunately I don’t have any other carts, and I am not even sure that the Sonic cart is working…

Is it possible to complete BB with only one player? There are certain levels that seem to be impossible to solve without help from player 2?! Of course you can always hope to warp past them ...
