  1. I might buy a PS2 if I can get it for $100. (that old gray playstation is starting to look outdated by my TV)

I seriously doubt that if they dropped the price of the PS2, it would drop by $100. If there is any price drop, it'd probably go down to $149.

  2. The majority of people who have their identities stolen and their credit cards stolen have not made any purchases online. There's a ton of different ways these jerks can get your credit card # or even social security #. The fastest growing trend is sending emails to people at AOL and PayPal asking them to go to a website to confirm their information at a site that uses the logos of those companies. These morons do it (even though we've all been told a billion times no one will ask for your password). Once you enter that password, they have it now, and they can go into your account and get all the info they need to open up accounts in your name.

There's also a trend of stealing credit card statements out of people's mailboxes and also the credit card#'s off receipts you leave on the dinner table at a restaraunt. Unfortunately, there's no sure fire way of protecting yourself. I've dealt with fraud orders for people that have been dead for years...older people who don't own a computer, so obviously they didn't get online and order anything

  3. We reported a lot of eBay auction fraud last year. People were buying computers and software on stolen credit cards from us and putting the merchandise up on eBay and having people wire the money to them via Western Union. What sucks for those people is not only are they out the money when we figure it all out, but unless they return the computer they paid for, they're in posession of stolen property

I'm wondering if this sort of thing is reported in those figures you gave.

  4. nintendo is the worst company ever. every nintendo i've owned nes, snes, gameboy, gameboy color,N64 have quited i don't dare buy a gc or gba in fear of the same also my ps one and two,all sega systems, atari systems and x-box i have all still work. the segas and ps one i've got i bought all pretty much at there launches so to be nintendo is very very shotty

I can understand the occassional dud, but it sounds to me like you don't take care of your systems if all of those crapped out on you. Like I said, I've only had one system that ever crapped out and even then it was after a long time of use.

  5. The original NES's were known to be very "shotty". That's the only system I've ever had croak on me. Doesn't mean I agree with dirtbag/dirtboy(whatever his name is). I think Nintendo is the best gaming company out there, but lets be realistic here, they're not perfect.

  6. I had an auction for a 5200 with 24 games. I told the person who won the shipping would be approx $20. The shipping was stated in the auction price, and the guy still bid.

Once he won the auction, he immediately began sending emails stating the shipping was too much. I told him that I didn't know the exact shipping cost because I wasn't sure of the weight, but we could do one of two things. 1) He sends $20 and I ship fastest possible for $20 or 2) He sends $20 and if it's less, then I would PayPal him back the difference.

Well, Parcel Post via USPS was $17.00 so we shipped it Parcel Post. I immediately sent him $3.00 back via PayPal. I also offered to ship him a Zaxxon cart (which was not included in the auction) and shipped that seperately.

This was last Tuesday that the items were shipped. The guy emails me today saying he needs our phone# and the one I have listed with eBay isn't current as he has been trying to call it. I email him back the phone# and he calls this evening. He's griping about how much the shipping charge is STILL. He says he ships stuff all the time PRIORITY that doesn't cost that much for shipping. The weight of the box with the 5200 & 24 games was 18lbs.

I'm getting a little frustrated because not only have I emailed with this guy 20 times at least (mostly about the shipping charge), I sent an extra cart out with no shipping charge, I gave him my phone# so maybe he'd be reassured, but I'm getting tired!!

Does $17 shipping sound like too much to you guys? This is the cheapest the post office would ship it

I also sold a GBA with some extra stuff that shipped out the same day as this auction and the person emailed me all weekend when I didn't have any internet access and couldn't answer her. She started freaking out saying if I didn't reply she was going to take further action.

I've sold on eBay many other times with no problems whatsoever, but these 2 are making me not want to sell on there ever again :x

  7. Whenever I sell something on eBay, I always use a shipping method that provides a tracking#. I immediately email the tracking # to the buyer as proof that I really shipped out the item. That way, if they didn't pay insurance and it get's lost, it's not my problem. At least they knew I really shipped it out.

Ed has no way of knowing that you really did send out the item. If I were him, I'd be skeptical too. BTW, you probably should've stayed away from this forum, you're doing your business more harm everytime you post.

  8. I "finished" the game a few months ago and got my town statue. I lost interest after about 3 or 4 months..I planted a bunch of non-native fruit trees and only played every three days when they bloomed to cash in on the $$.

I should probably go back and finish filling my museum.

    Name: Kelloggs

    Town: Marlboro

  9. Maybe that makes sense to you. If he knows what he's looking for, why not put up a trade offer for it? If I was only looking for a certain item, I wouldn't be interested in beating around the bush with what other's would want to trade me for what I want.

If all he has to offer as a trade is a Lynx and all he wants is a Jaguar, he's doing the right thing (at least as far as I'm concerned).

I'm a little surprised that everyone is so concerned with what they'll get out of the deal. I've seen quite a few people just simply help each other out here, that's what makes AA so great. Neither party in this trade would be getting a bad deal.

  10. I'm a little confused as to why some of you are posting here that you would not trade a Jaguar for a Lynx. If you're not interested in the trade, then don't bother posting just to say so.

If we didn't already have several Lynx's, I'd trade my spare Jag for one...it's not a bad deal.

    :?

  11. I'm looking to get rid of my VHS movies, as I've totally moved to DVD, and figured that someone out there would possibly like to buy them, or perhaps make a trade. Here's the list:

    Transformers: The Movie

    Saving Private Ryan

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

    VHS Anime:

    Landlock Part 1

Royal Space Force: The Wings on Honneamise

    Golgo 13: Queen Bee

    Ninja Scroll

    Ghost in the Shell

    Perfect Blue

    Sword for truth

Email or PM me with any offers.

All of these are gone. Thanks guys! :D
