I recently moved from Dallas, TX to Bakersfield, CA, and was forced to give away my collection (300 2600 games, working videomusic, ton of 8bit stuff, huge ST collection, NES, enormous TI-99 collection, Lynx, C64, Odyssey2)

 

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone here had a heavy sixer and a few games to get me started for sale before I hit up eBay

Three questions.

1. I installed XaAES. Is there any way to get a "desktop" with it (besides x11 - i'm on an STE)

2. Where can I get N.AES?

3. Is there any way I could have FreeMiNT prompt me as to which AES should be run or am I going to need to edit the config file each time?

Can you tell me which one has a better GUI? I tried either Naes or Xaes, I forgot which one, and it kept booting in low resolution and i couldn't get it to do ANYTHING because I couldn't see what was going on because it was all overlapping. Thanks.

With this setup on my 4mb STE, when I try to resize a window using the box in the lower right hand corner, the GUI will freeze. Is this a problem with AES 4.1 in general or a combination of things? What should I downgrade to fix this problem, as it can be rather annoying. Thanks!

[2600 Jr color shift problem]

It's a problem with a potentiometer in your 2600. On the bottom (I think) there should be a hole that leads to a POT. just stick in a phillips head screwdriver while the game is in play and turn either way until the colours are correct.

I just made my first hack with Hack-O-Matic. I must say, it is a LOT easier than editing a textfile by hand!

 

If I could only find the location of the colour pallet for this game...

I switched to 98 compatibility mode as suggested and it works fine now. Nice little prog.

An EPROM is basically a reprogrammable ROM chip used for prototyping or homebrewing. EPROM stands for Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory. Standard EPROMS have a quartz window on the top of them which allows them to be erased. Hope that helps.

Yes, I've seen many Falcons going for a fraction of what they used to. Try eBay Germany, it has an Atari ST category. There are usually 2 or 3 Falcons at any given time.
