Vorticon, perhaps it's worth checking out the new Atariage "clubs" functionality which are basically mini-forums you can setup yourself if I understand correctly. It's kinda silly being at the mercy of a moderator. You won't know if a new subforum takes of unless you try it. Just my 2 cents..... Myself I'm very interested in The Adam Computer lately and reading about development stuff for it (which is not the same as game development) I especially enjoyed reading about the CPM text editor you implemented. Now thinking about it, could see a subforum for TI-99/4a related computers like Tomy Tutor & Geneve 9640.🙂

What would you do with dual screens on a 99/4A?
retroclouds replied to FarmerPotato's topic in TI-99/4A Development
This is a very interesting thread. Guess cross-sharing ideas can't hurt; in the Colecovision section there is some VDP stuff being discussed and worked on as well: https://atariage.com/forums/topic/291602-yet-another-80-column-expansion-idea/ https://atariage.com/forums/topic/289302-interest-in-dual-serial-80column-cpm-board-for-the-adam/ https://atariage.com/forums/topic/292528-fun-with-a-v9958/ -
senior_falcon you might consider switching to Ralphs' xas99 ?

I think this is the best TI-99/4a game ever, seriously.

Dragon's Lair high-score contest live-stream at VCF-SE 7.0
retroclouds replied to OLD CS1's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
Thanks for posting the pics and showcasing the TI and Dragons Lair. Always get a kick out of seeing TI-99/4a Pitfall! at a gaming convention. Like the Atari joystick too. Wish I could have been there. -
I like it a lot. Thanks for adding!

Dont know if you have still any space left, but would be cool if you do some sound effect when crossing the checker flags at the end of a level.

No facebook for me my friends. I registered about a year ago and left a few days later. Was constantly nagging me with notifications and what not. Guess facebook is what you make of it, can be good or bad.

Why is there a Z80 on the triple tech card? What is the Z80 used for?

Very nice and addictive! I also love the way how the ball moves.

Looking forward to that! :-) -
What other fan-created games can we get for the unmodified TI?
retroclouds replied to xabin's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
Dont forget Pitfall! Plays nice on a unexpanded console, at least if you have the cartridge version. -
I have played this game on my Tutor and I didnt see anything that cant be done on the Ti-99/4a. Pretty sure you could convert the source code to Ti-99/4a with small modifications (unless door door would be running a z80 emulator, you never know) or perhaps even start from a ROM disassembly. Just my 2 cents. Wont be me though, too much on my plate.

Reminder that the linked document "ti hardware compendium myarc info.txt" should be added to the development resources thread. Very valuable. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/215689-ti-related-ebay-heads-up-notice/?p=4225238

Nice! I will add it to the development thread. Thank you! :-)

My - currently in development- programmers editor TiVi is designed for using SAMS. See the programming subsection for details.

Wow impressive! Do not want to sidetrack, but what would it take to make a tomy tutor version of the keyboard?

MiniWriter 3 cart (with novel, integrated parallel interface)
retroclouds replied to blakespot's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
To be honest, I am for releasing all source code so that it can be preserved for history, more than anything else really. This is for a system that is now 40 years old. Tend to agree that for new homebrew software for the Ti-99/4a it is up to the author to decide how to deal with it. -
That is very impressive! Well done.
